Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis nods at Jayem's suggestion and starts to strip his armor off. "There will be some swimming, prepare yourselves. If you are too sick Nngara, then maybe you should stay here." Kalis finishes with his armor and then fishes around in his backpack, shifting gear around. Kalis will swim with just his sword slung over his back, his rope stuck in his belt, and his empty waterproof bag tied between his shoulder blades to try to keep it as dry as possible.
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
As the group is preparing for the next leg of exploration, Kalis picks up an extra ration of food and two extra water bags. He looks to the others, "Bring extra water. You can count on the metal skinned one for water, but don't count on me to carry you back to camp if he can not provide."
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis moves about camp a little listlessly, moving from one chore to another. Finally he sighs to himself and approaches Ishirou. He stands before the man and says, "I should not have shamed you about the Aspis yesterday. If you owed them something and paid them their due, then that is honorable. We can not always control who we become indebted to." He listens closely to Sasha's tale that evening, though he does not understand who the Red Mantis' are. "It is a fool who refuses to learn new skills to keep themselves alive. I would like to learn from you."
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis reaches out for the healthiest looking of the young Dimorphodons, trying to grab it by the back of the neck.

Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis tightens his grip on his sword as he suddenly grows much larger. He tries to not let it distract him as he crouches, waiting for one of the creatures to come close enough for him to attack. Readied action: Attack when one is in range
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
With just a sling in his hand Kalis does not swing at the passing Dimorphodon. He focuses on the creature intently as he whips the sling around and throws a small stone at it's head. He drops the sling and moves to a point between the group and the creatures, pulling his sword as he goes. Standard Action ATTACK:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 (+1 BAB, +2 Dex) DAMAGE:1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 (+3 Str)
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
PERCEPTION:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 (1 rank, +3 class skill, +1 Wis, +2 racial) Kalis sheathes his sword and prepares his sling. He nods at Jayem's words, "It will be something to look at later. Now, I will flush out the lizard bird. Stay close enough to help, and be ready. He tries to move quietly toward where he saw the pterosaur landing. STEALTH:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 (1 ranks, +3 Class Skill, +2 Dex, -3 armor)Awesome!
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Sorry, I've been slammed since late last week. Here are my survival rolls if they are not too late.
Kalis leans down to examine the droppings, and then looks to the sky. "If we take our time here, we may find that woman's lizard bird." He looks pointedly to the others as if asking their opinion on spending time on this. Another survival check to track the Pterosaurs if you need it:
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis' eyes grow cold as he glares at Ishirou, "Then you should break that sword and throw it from you. The Aspis makes slaves of women and children. It kills warriors while declaring it's peaceful intentions. The gods themselves revile what the gold snake tribe does to the trees and rivers of the jungle."
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis nods to Sasha in passing as they enter the camp, "Your traps are good. Rats will get into everything and make us all sick when they leave their filth everywhere." He spends another early evening with Ishiro mostly in silence. Eventually, he nods at the man's sword, "With your people, you are a warrior?" Diplomacy checks if necessary:
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis watches Nngara attempting to craft the net while he continues to help with camp preparations. "The young lizard we need will not move from the nest, and I do not think we wish to catch its mother or father. Netting like you wish to make would make good bedding though. Sleeping on the ground is dangerous here." Kalis will stay up a little late with Ishirou, offering to keep him company for the first part of his watch.
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis scratches his cheek as he considers Sasha's request. "She wants a young one that she can still train. You feed it by hand and become its mother. This has been done in my village. That means finding a nest. A net will not be needed, a sack will be. Climbing probably will also be needed, but that can be done." Finally he nods his head, "If we see a nest while traveling, then you may get your flying lizard."
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Even after hiking all day, Kalis drops his gear and immediate goes and sits next to Sasha. He takes the sticks she has been making and hardens the points in the camp fire. "I almost did not see the trip wire before you called out. Did someone else set it for you?" It is hard to tell, but Kalis may have a hint of a smile on his face.
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
PERCEPTION:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 (1 rank, +3 class skill, +1 Wis, +2 racial) Sweet, sweet rolls!
Kalis kneels to study the skin and searches for what direction the snake went that shed it. KNOWLEDGE: Nature:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 (1 ranks, +3 Class Skill, +2 Racial, +1 trait) To determine the type of snake maybe?
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis takes another step forward and menaces the monkeys, trying to keep them from charging his companions. 5ft step forward,

So to sum up:
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis' eyes follow Gelik's gesture towards Ishirou. He looks down at the ground for a moment as if in thought. Somewhat abruptly he stands and approaches Ishirou, "You are quiet. What use are you going to be if you are going to stay here at camp?" Wise enough to know something should be said. No people skills to say it in a productive way :-)
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis shrugs "If we do not find anything close then we will be moving camp in a few days. It would be better to just have someone on watch." He rolls his eyes at Gelik's suggestion that he lead the group, but keeps his thoughts to himself since Harper seems to have handled the little man.
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis squats at the edge of the camp and watches the others work in the heat. When he sees Valeria face get flushed he snorts and averts his gaze in a clear "I told you so" expression. He reaches towards his backpack and pulls out a waterskin. Once he gets her attention, Kalis throws her the waterskin, "Stop now and drink. The camp can be finished later." He looks at Nngara and Jayem, "No reason to rush out. We should leave in the morning, head out until it gets too hot. Rest and loop around to get back to camp before dark. The jungle is more dangerous at night." I'm not this arrogant and opinionated btw, so please know it's just the roleplaying :-)
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Hearing the noise behind him, Kalis rushes back, pulling his sword as he goes. At the sight of the snake he raises his blade, preparing to strike. Figure I am too far away with the difficult terrain to make an attack this round. I would like to make a Knowledge: Nature check to see if the snake is poisonous.
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis frowns at the Aeryes statement, "Are you sick? I believe the man in the metal skin is a healer and the pygmy is a medicine man." As the group prepares to set out, Kalis sets out first. "I will lead." he says as his only explanation. Plan sounds good. Kalis will remove his armor and tie it to his pack. He will lead the group by 20 feet and try to be as quiet and aware as possible. Without armor, his movement is 40ft. Halved this should be the same speed as the rest of the group with Jayem and Gelik
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis grunts at the plan to leave the camp behind. "It will take most of a day to get to that tip of the island. Sleeping in the jungle without making it ready is not a good idea. We should move camp away from this godless water. Camp near a fast, rushing stream where the god is young and happy. That kind of god lets you take water without making you sick. Make camp there and then explore out from it like the legs of a spider." He splays out his fingers in demonstration. "Come back to camp each night to sleep." He nods to himself. So the north western tip of the island is about 24 hexes away. At 3 hexes an hour it will take 8 hours to get there, so we can't get there and back in a single day's travel, even IF we don't run into any encounters. It seems to me that our choices are:
To me #2 seems like the best, most efficient and secure option.
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis examines the map and then looks around at the visible landmarks, trying to gauge distances. "It is foolish to waste that man's magic on water. I am sure we will need it for other purposes."
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
What my RL group sometimes does if we are out in the wild without access to shops or whatnot is to have the character(s) make Profession: Herbalist rolls to "earn" gold, which represents ingredients for potions. My GM can be a little bit of stickler though and it makes potion brewing a lot harder in the wild. On the other hand, it is the only magic crafting that he allows to gather materials in the wild, otherwise we have to declare what items we are buying materials for when we are in more civilized areas.
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis snorts, "Magic is not to waste on water. Water can be found. And you do not live far from water where the women and children must hike every day to bring it back, you live close to it." He nods at the wisdom of his own words and then as an afterthought adds, "Not too close though, you can anger the god of a stream and they will bring a raging flood to kill you."
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis watches Jayem unlock Jask with a slight frown. "This is not the place to camp. We should look for a better place. One we can defend if there are flesheaters here. One with water. One that we can go in many directions to explore. A place the gods favor, not so close to that." He nods over to the ocean.
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
Kalis lays out the equipment and supplies salvaged from the wreck. At the gnome's quip he replies, "Our situation is that we must survive, as it always is. The food here will only last a few days, and we must find a good water supply." He looks out at the ocean, "Where is this place? I must get to the the great jungle."
Male Elf Barbarian 1 (Invulnerable Rager)
SURVIVAL:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 (1 ranks, +3 Class Skill, +1 Wis, +2 Racial) Once the rain starts Kalis looks at the horizon in the direction the wind is coming from. Shrugging slightly, he moves to the edge of one of the hanging tarps and squats down. He looks over at Jask pleading to be released, "Why is this man tied? Are his people at war with someone else on the boat? Is he a slave?"
