A pre-gen can't learn spells from another PC, because the pre-gen's character sheet resets after any adventure. But a PC can learn spells from a pre-gen. The pre-gen player has nothing to lose or gain, so it's normal in my experience for Ezren, Seltyiel and Enora to always share their spellbooks when they adventure with PCs who have spellbooks.

To add to your spellbook you don't need to buy a scroll - you can just pay an NPC to copy the spell from. That way you don't burn more money on a scroll that gets used up. So the scribe cost to copy from an NPC (who doesn't have to be named - it's just a contrivance that you can use in downtime between adventures) you pay the cost to scribe the spell plus 50%. That's the second set of numbers in the post I linked to. The first set is the simple scribing costs.

Hi Jurmo, this post and thread explains what you pay to add spells to your spellbook.

If you use up a scroll you pay the same as you would to scribe a spell from another PC. This is worthwhile if you find scrolls during an adventure; but it's not worth buying scrolls for the purpose of adding spells, just pay the cost to scribe from an NPC.

Janus looks to Timinic, eyes cold and unfeeling, as reptilian as their crocodile counterpart: "We have no authority to discipline you. That falls to the Ten, who will of course receive our reports. In our opinion you are incompetent and your incompetence placed your fellow Pathfinders in peril."

Utterly incompetent. Goes into Daggermark sewers, of all places; sees humanoids skulking around, concludes that they are a new subterranean species instead of the obvious fact that they're just bad people doing bad stuff. Gets found out, probably through making little or no effort to cover their tracks. Causes their VC to break an oath. Can't fight. Sheesh.

btw, when Janus says 'we' here that's indicating Janus and Janus Too, rather than any imperative for the rest of the party.

Janus employs the magic of their Buffering Cap to convert the extra crit damage to non-lethal.

Starting from the door that Jurmo is next to and going round, Janus will search the exits for potential traps.

No time pressure apparent, so Take 20 on Perception for 29 (or 31 if Alertness is still granted by an unconscious familiar).

I think if I were playing anyone but Janus, I'd have accepted the assassin's surrender. But Janus is a fey-touched Daggermark veteran for whom death is but a journey. Given Andolyn's wish to fight them, Hosser's too I think, Janus would strike.

Janus, preferably with a hand from someone else, uses their rope to descend into the pit trap and recover their unconscious reptilian half. Then they return to see how the search proceeds, and lend assistance.

I wouldn't typically attack an enemy who surrendered - but Janus has the Fey's attitude to death. Imbrex is the god of endings - and this makes an ending.

It's not the end of the world if the familiar 'dies', it just comes back the next day.

Janus recovers one of their javelins, lifts Janus Too out of the water, and returns to the passageway where the voice came from.

Janus refers to Janus Too with the swimming bit - but seriously, there's no need to stand and fight. Those fungi move one square per turn through the deep bog. I'm going to chuck a javelin now, but if we all agree, let's go and find another exit. Janus Too has a swim speed of 30 and stealth modifier of +22 in water, so it can evade the fungi.

Janus draws a javelin, and waits for a clear shot. "Andolyn, javelin incoming, step aside."

Janus will carry Timinic if nobody else will. Janus is used to carrying Janus Too. A gnome is a bit heavier, but still won't put Janus into medium encumbrance.
