GM, I wanted to let you know that I'll be needing to read the adventure because the overseers are each others' backups. I will do my best to keep this knowledge out of character only.
OK, what do those rolls mean?
How is the boon stuff for game day going to work?
Ti: I'm using a first level rebuild to change to a paladin (same personality, just mechanical rebuild) so I'll be able to use a wand to get you back up into action more quickly, I think. That might make it a little less painful to be fragile.
There doesn't appear to be a discussion thread for part 2 yet.
Thanks.
What's the status of part 2?
Also, if I buy stuff between adventures, does that go on this chronicle sheet/need your input here, or go on the next chronicle sheet/need your input in part 2?
Should my day job check be listed on the chronicle sheet?
I'm still trying to understand how the faction cards work. In the second battle, we as a party accepted the surrender of an enemy. Does that mean I can check off that silver crusade faction check box? Or do I individually have to be the first to respond, so that I'm accepting the surrender?
It looks like the map is still unchanged, so I'm not sure where he moved to. Hania moves up to him again and then attacks again. Two-handed, again.
attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
damage:1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Hania steps up to the enemy and attacks. She uses both hands on her sword to hit hard.
attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
damage:1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Hania runs up to the front of the theater. (I assume the chairs are difficult terrain so she can't charge, and I believe that if I run I can't also attack in the same turn)
Hania also continues to try to convince the enemy to turn from his evil ways.
Yeah, I know what you mean. You know, though, who better than the righteous to have strength?
I have a -1 on intimidate, plus I've already acted this turn, so I'm only going to talk. No mechanical benefit, but fits my character, and might earn a faction card bonus
"If you surrender, we will make sure you are treated fairly. You will experience justice tempered with mercy, and have a chance to redeem yourself."
Isn't there only one beetle left?
Hania attacks the last beetle.
Attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Damage:1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
EDIT: wrong alias, sorry
So now we're just waiting on Harrison? He's still blinded, right? He said in discussion he might not post sometimes for a while, is it possible for the GM to continue his full defense and roll his will save?
Hania attacks a beetle with her sword.
attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
damage:1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
I assume Hania is still blinded since she failed the second will save at the end of last turn. If so, she skips this turn.
Will save at end of second turn: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
Yay, I actually get to do something if the fight makes it to a third round!
Second will save at end of turn: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11
will save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
uggh!
"If you surrender, evildoers, you will be shown mercy!"
(I don't think there's much Hania can do other than speak, considering that will save...)
Hania silently pulls out her sword and waits. She would prefer to redeem the goblins than fight them, but expects they will probably attack her, and is prepared to defend right from their evil.
So we are going in by stealth rather than just walking in? If so, I should hold back, for I do not sneak well. I do not in general approve of sneaking, but in this case I cannot object, for we are dealing with evil creatures who are without honor or beauty.
Hania is ready to go whenever everyone else is.
I'm interested in part 2. I may do a mechanical rebuild, but character personality would be the same.
My posting may be sporadic and brief for the next few days. I'm travelling for a family wedding and only have a tablet to post from.
[b]Sounds good to me.[\b]
How can we know such a future favor is an upright action?
earlier, Hania gratefully agrees to Searlas's suggestion.
Hania looks at the leader of the men with hoods. She is clearly uncomfortable. "If we agree, do we have your word that we will not be harmed or handled inappropriately?"
I'm not planning on going any further with this, of course, but the concern would be among the first things in any woman's mind in this sort of situation.
She also steps closer to Searlas, thinking him most likely to be able to give warning of anything bad.
Shelyn and Sarenrae. The only reason I am not a paladin is that I will not choose between them.
If everyone else agrees it is necessary to conceal who we are, I can do so as long as I don't have to actually tell any falsehood. To tell an actual falsehood would certainly displease the goddesses I seek to follow.
Is it really honorable to hide our identities as Pathfinders?
Sorry I didn't post for a while, I was sick.
Hania has nothing to contribute right now, but she is keeping near her party, looking out for trouble. Almost being a bodyguard to the 'squishy' party members.
Hania has no ranks in any related knowledge skill, so will have to roll diplomacy
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
Hania help search, concentrating on the back room. Take 20 on perception gives 24.
Hania digs around in her pack, finds a potion of cure light wounds, and hands it to Searlas.
Here, I thinks this counts as an emergency.
Do we really have no one in the party who can heal??
What about Hania's attack?
Hania walks over toward the nearest enemy still standing and attacks with her sword.
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
See what happens to those who attack the innocent! yells Hania as she attacks.
Hania notices her fallen comrades and walks closer to the enemies attacking them. Then she throws a javelin at the closest enemy attacking Ti-Jean and Searlas.
attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
(I assume no penalty to throw into melee when all allies are down??
damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Hania looks around the room.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Hania looks around carefully, especially looking for any sign of people moving in the house or right around it.
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Hey guys, does anyone see anything?
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
no ranks in knowledge:dungeoneering
Hania moves toward the goblin and throws a javelin.
range increment is 30 ft, so within 1 increment
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
I don't have a feat to remove the penalty for shooting into melee, but I'm not sure if that applies here or how much it would be. The roll above is before that penalty.
If it hits:
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
I just want to make sure I understand what is going on. Someone woke me up, and now I'm awake but prone. My place in initiative shifted to just after I was woken up. If I get up now, does that trigger an attack of opportunity? I think I'll get up even if it does.
Hania stands up, stretching and looking a little confused.
I assume that getting up is all I can do this turn???
will save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11
argggggh... first I can't even hit a goblin twice, and now I fall asleep during combat!!
I've been GMing since last December, but the first few months were with the beginner box. I usually play with just my kids (ages 5 and 9).
Hania
fighter 1
184425-1
Silver Crusade
day job roll:
profession:woodcutter (+3 bonus)
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
The pfs number is registered to 'Hania pfs tracking' because I created Hania as a message board alias before I investigated pfs characters on the message board.
I'll just create a pfs character as a tracking dummy and keep playing with the alias I made. Thanks.
Yeah, the words I was quoting show up higher on that same page. Perhaps it's what they mean by 'regular action' that I was misinterpreting? Maybe a 'regular action' means a standard action, move action, or full action, rather than an action in a regular round.
Thanks for clarifying, this will improve my GMing.
