Azuk Mal |
"Goblins, sounds like your problem, pal." Azuk says, shaking his head. As he goes to turn around and leave, he almost runs into Warden, who is standing obstinately in his way.
"COMPLIANCE WITH PATHFINDER GROUP INITIATIVES IS MANDATORY," it bellows from somewhere deep in its hollow chest.
Sighing, the half-orc turns back around and wipes his hands down his face. "All right, all right. What else do you know about this leader? How many goblins are we talking about here?"
GM V |
“Try not to die, Pathfinders. I like cashing in favors
that are owed to me.” He says as you leave. His men put you back in the hoods and take you back into the city in another long cart ride. Taking the hoods off they give you directions to the theater.
Its late afternoon. Are there any purchases that you would like to make before the final fight?
Searlas Savy |
I'd like to buy a CLW potion (50gp), 2 flasks of acid (2x10gp), and 1 flask of alchemist's fire (20gp). I'll be backup alchemist. Oh, and does he let me keep the hood?
Searlas Savy |
Yeah, I know I wouldn't be able to keep if after the scenario. Was just hoping to land a dirty trick with one.
GM V |
Before you stands a run-down, wooden facade with the words Naderi Theater” painted across the top in faded letters. The painting of a young, pretty woman soaked to the bone with water and carrying a tiny dagger in one fist splashes across the front of the theater beneath the sign, though this mural is as faded as the lettering above. The ticket window is boarded up, the walls are covered in graffiti, and the doors are chained shut and have a sign that reads “Closed for renovation” nailed across them.
A perception or Disable device check please

Warden steps forward and examines the door.

Searlas in a hushed quick tone looks at the party and says "Everyone on your A game, if we found out about them I wouldn't be surprised if they knew we were coming.

Searlas begins speaking rapidly in a hushed tone. "Well well well... This may be most fortuitous. Illusory chains on the door... Such a simple way to keep people out. These folks may be easier to get the drop on than I thought. We should go in quietly, let Ti-Jean scout, I'll follow and keep on the lookout for more illusions. I need not speak or move to cast my spells so I shouldn't blow our cover. Once we find out foes we should be able to have the heavy hitters do their thing before they realize what hit them."
Azuk Mal |
Warden, sensing the illusory chains, shatters the silence with his booming baritone voice. "THERE ARE NO CHAINS. YOU ARE FREE TO ENTER. NO LOCAL OR UNIVERSAL LAWS WILL BE BROKEN DUE TO THIS TECHNICALITY."
Azuk covers his face with his hands and sighs.
Searlas Savy |
Searlas casts detect magic and keeps on the lookout for more illusion auras.
Spellcraft to identify illusion that made the chains: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Searlas Savy |
"You see, these chains aren't really realistic looking. They aren't colored correctly... don't have the normal superficial damage from exposed chains. A clear sign of a silent image spell. As you can see, I can pass my ha..."
Searlas reaches out his hand to touch the chains and find that they are in fact physical. He turns back with a sheepish grin.
"Erm. As I was saying, they aren't colored correctly... they don't have the normal superficial damage from exposed chains. A clear sign of a poorly made replica, like a stage prop. Easily removed without breaking them. I believe Ti-Jean should lead the way and signal us at the first sign of trouble."
Harison Jones |
Harison looks at the warden. His eyes a bit unbelieving. Who would send such a thing on this kind of mission
-Posted with Wayfinder
Searlas Savy |
"I don't think we really need to make this a stealth mission, however getting some up front intel from Ti-Jean would give us a better idea where to strike. We should make sure we get the drop on them and land a quick and decisive blow. Last time we were ambushed it almost didn't end well and I would hope we don't repeat that. We should probably hang back just a bit, but make sure we aren't too far from Ti-Jean. As soon as we know what we're dealing with, you, warden, and Harison run in and do what you do best. Beat up the bad guys. Azuk and I can follow on your heels and lay down suppressive spells. That is assuming Azuk doesn't turn and bolt as soon as Warden is occupied" Searlas finishes with a pointed stare at Azuk.
Azuk Mal |
Azuk shrugs. "He'd just find me again. It's inevitable. Like it or not, I'm here until the mission is over."
Searlas Savy |
"Good. Lets make sure this evil Shadow Lodge is brought into the light."
Searlas Savy |
Searlas listens at the door and takes a quick peek around for guards, then removes the fake chains.

Ti sneaks in and when he gets a ways into the building suddenly chimes, bells and gongs begin to go off and you see a man on stage and 3 beetles (the goblins).
The man on the stage looks at you and begins to clap slowly, "“Vadoma failed to killed you, I see. I’ll have to take over.”

Azuk taps Warden on the shoulder as he casts an arcane spell. "You're up, slugger."
Enlarge person.
As it thunders down the central aisle, the automaton doubles in size, its enormous metal feet shaking the floor.
"PREPARE FOR EXTERMINATION."
Warden readies an action to attack anything that gets within arm's reach.

And for the rest of my turn other than my will save...
"Lets clear out the front line so we don't become overwhelmed. Keep an eye on the man on the stage for whatever he does next..."
He composes himself, focuses intently on the man on the stage, and his eyes glow with power as he casts Deja Vu.

Man, I gotta stop speaking up, gets me targeted by the boss bad guy! :)
Will save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Typo, that's Azuk's will save bonus in there numerically, not his Spellcraft skill value.
Welp, GG. Can't make all the will saves, folks. I was wondering how he was targeting me, as I'd previously ducked behind the door outside, and I see now that someone moved me forward into the room. Thanks a lot, whoever made that executive decision for me. :)
