Greyjay nods at Tanatarra's question. A good point. He considers for a moment, remaining silent and listening to the pulse of conflict - of battles, albeit of words rather than of swords or magic - to hear where to start looking for the party that might be responsible for this disappearance.

Greyjay frowns slightly, nodding minutely at Marcellus. "Is that so? Can you tell me why you think she did such a thing?"

The oracle takes Tanterra's crowbar, but holds off on using it for the moment. He utters a word of power before speaking.

"We're not here to hurt you, lad." Greyjay agrees with Chomski. "We're here to help everyone. It's our job." He looks at Marin meaningfully, silently asking her not to contradict him here.

Diplomacy, guidance: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 10 + 1 = 18

"Sorry, ma'am. Work's never done." Greyjay replies to the woman. "What's the issue that you need solved?"

Not sure whether I should roll yet or not.

Greyjay would like to Refocus for 10 minutes, but other than that, is good to move on.

Greyjay looks at his fellows. "Well done, squad." He says after a moment, his breathing heavy. Sheathing his blade, he looks dourly at the onlooker, before shaking his head. "Citizens, you are safe for now. Please report any further sightings of the undead to any officer of the Edgewatch."

He lowers his voice, speaking to the rest of the squad. "Alright. We ought to head to... the mage's tower, was it?"

"For the love of all that is good, citizen, keep your observations to yourself!" Greyjay roars, rushing to join his companions. Once again, he disdains using his sword in favor of his heavily gauntleted fists.

The screams of battle and the clash of steel echo in Greyjay's ears, but he manages to push it away long enough to speak to Tanaterra. "Thanks, lass." He utters a divine word, summoning a shield of barely visible force before him. With a roar, he steps around her and switches his sword to one hand, before swinging a heavy gauntleted fist at the skeleton lined in purple that threatens her.

Wow, that was pretty great for Greyjay. He's healed all the way up!

Greyjay staggers, blood staining him as he grits his teeth against the all-too-familiar pain. He lifts his blade, imbuing it with power as the screams of battle well up in his ears. He moves forwards, joining Laz. "Good work, soldier. Let's let 'em rest again." He grunts, swinging his blade down on the skeleton.

Currently suffering from the minor level of his oracle's curse - a -2 penalty to AC unless he Strikes, which negates the penalty until his next turn.

Oops, forgot that. The green-lined skeleton was Greyjay's target for both the strike and the chill touch.

I'll try to figure out what Greyjay does when he needs to be botted today.

Greyjay curses with a mild blasphemy under his breath as the strike catches him off-guard. Gripping his bastard sword in two hands, he lashes out with a vicious response. Even as his blade strikes home, he withdraws it, chanting and flicking his fingers to slap out a negatively charged hand in the hopes of unbalancing the undead thing.

Damage?: 1d12 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

"Enough! Both of you, stand down and explain yourselves!" Greyjay shouts as his fellows. "There's no need for you to fight, and you're putting the whole neighborhood in danger." His voice gets quieter as he approaches the pair of squabbling goblins more closely.

It is pretty great.

"We ought to look in on some of the other issues reported before any celebration." Greyjay says with a sigh. "But before that, let's bring her back."

Greyjay joins his fellows in rushing after the thief. "Running will only make it harder on you!" He shouts as he shoves through the crowd.

Athletics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 Armor penalty. *Shakes fist.*

Greyjay rises with a grunt. "Well, wherever we go, let's get started."

Dammit, looks like I'm late to the meeting. The oracle arrives just in time to get the briefing, before he looks at his new companions. A tired smile crossing his bearded face. "Greyjay. Technically a nickname, but it'll do. Aye, it'll do." He scratches his chin, peering at the map as well.

I'd probably go 2, 4, 1, 3.

"Nobody alive, maybe." Grayjay says in response to Tanaterra. "But maybe not. Could be some danger to the folks nearby if it's not stable."

I'm in EDT (Which might be GMT-4 or GMT-5, because DST sucks).

Alrighty, let's see... I think that his default exploration activity would be gathering information. Other than that... I think I probably need to adjust some wealth? Maybe? I'll have to doublecheck.

Yes, now that I'm able to make aonprd work again, Marshal's definitely suited to Greyjay, both thematically and statistically.

1. What would the Free Archetype be? Would it be individualized, or universal - like a representation some sort of "guard training?" I would probably go for Marshal, if it were individualized.

I think I'd favor one over three, though, just 'cause the human ancestry feats don't appeal to me as much.

Greyjay growls, regaining some of his nerve, and attacks again, though the tightness in his limbs makes him somewhat slower than he might wish. A moment later, he calls upon his divine connection once more to lash out and touch the creature with a charge of negative energy.

First Action: Strike. Second & Third actions Action: Cast chill touch. Will DC 16 (for Frightened 1) or Negative Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 damage. I just realized that the spell is two actions, not one. Oops.

He stumbles over his words, but manages to invoke the divine power that dwells within him. His sword glows briefly as he lashes out at the owlbear, trying to master his fear through aggression.

Greyjay jumps forwards, joining Drogyn to engage with the owlbear directly. With a few words of power and a careful shaping of divine energy, he summons a cold aura of anti-life around his hand, before reaching out and touching the creature.

With a whirl of his blade, Greyjay lashes out at the creature, determined to take it down as swiftly and as harmlessly as possible. Unfortunately, he isn't quite in position to bring his blade to bear, rendering the attack less than accurate.
Strike: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 Gonna bet that's not enough.

First action - Stride. Second Action - cast chill touch, DC 17 Fort or 6 damage and enfeebled 1 on critical failure. 3rd Action - Strike.

"Hrm. Unless anyone's good with animals, I'd say your idea's looking good, Carlotta." Greyjay says, eyes widening slightly at the sight of the owlbear. I'd really rather not fight that thing if I have a choice.

"I don't like the sound of that." Greyjay steps forwards, drawing his sword. "Everyone ready?" He asks in a low voice.

"I agree with Drogyn. It shouldn't take too long to investigate whether the people are safe, and if they are, we can move on quickly." Greyjay says, scratching his beard.

Greyjay looks slightly uncomfortable at the idea, but he finally sighs. "A donation to the watch itself is likely different enough that I can accept it." He considers for a moment. "I don't suppose you've a mace handy? I could've probably used one for the undead we faced earlier today."

Looking to Carlotta, he nods. "Aye, perhaps the zookeepers will have some insight into what the Hell just happened with their beast. Hopefully this is the only dangerous one, but somehow I doubt it. We'll see if they've been criminally negligent, but hopefully this is just some accident that couldn't have been foreseen."

Greyjay remains silent for the time being, catching his breath. Definitely not as young as I used to be. Wouldn't have had trouble with that twenty years ago. He carefully cleans his weapon, trying to keep steady, before sheathing it. "We should... make sure that the creature doesn't die. There might be clues as to where it came from and why it attacked."

He turns to the shop owner, offering a tired smile. "It's our job, citizen. 'fraid we can't accept rewards like that, though."

Greyjay lifts his free hand momentarily, uttering a divine word and shaping the power with a gesture, protecting Drogyn from the beast. He steps forwards, dodging around his compatriots, and lashes out with his heavy blade.
Bastard Sword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 I'm pretty sure this isn't a critical, but it might be, if it has AC 14?
Damage: 1d12 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 Well, that's sad. 6 damage if it is a critical.

1st - Cast forbidding ward on Drogyn and the rust monster. 2nd - Stride. 3rd - Strike.

Figured out my HP status - it's at 4, because 17-13. Sorry for the confusion.

The sounds of screams and the clash of steel grow louder, pounding in Greyjay's skull, and he lets his guard down long enough for the rust creature to rip through his armor, flesh, and bone. He staggers back, a low moan of pain escaping his lips, before marshaling himself. He chants a spell once more, the fingers of his free hand shaping the divine power before he lays it on the creature.

He swiftly takes a few steps back, his sword lowering as he grabs one of the potions from his belt. "Damned thing!"

Action 1 - Casting chill touch. DC 17 Fortitude or Negative Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 negative damage. Enfeebled 1 on critical failure. Action 2 - Stride back. Action 3 - Interact to take out a healing potion.

If I'm understanding the math right, I should be at 1 hp, unless I am missing somewhere that the damage is being reduced. I was only at 1 HP less than full, and full is only 1 hp more than the damage I took.
