Just wanted to make a suggestion for you to take or leave but it’s something that I found worked in other play by posts. Other GMs I’ve played with keep an initiative post that they can copy and past from so that, when we go into encounter mode, you can just copy and paste all initiatives and roll for everyone. This starts the encounter right after you’ve set it up instead of waiting for everyone to roll and then putting it altogether.

So it would go like this:

“The sounds of goblins fighting in the distance.

Drogyn: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Abi: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Greyjay: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Salt: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Scarlett: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Goblins: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

Alright, Scarlett reacts first. Then the goblins with Greyjay on deck after this.

If someone is using Stealth or something, you would just adjust the copy and paste.

To be fair, I realized that Greyjay does have a reactive spell that lets him give us all a +2 bonus to initiative checks and +1 (or more, if its cast at a higher level) temporary HP for a minute. It's a revelation spell, though, so it costs a focus point and increases his curse, so I'm not planning on using it now.

Just a future consideration.

After this one I'll be going to be rolling initiative for the group from now on to make things easier in a pbp.

Has it been a day since the undead encounter? For some reason I struggle to keep that sort of thing straight.

It's the same day but you all roughly should have had time to heal just a bit. I thought you all had healed up first but it looks like no.

O shoot looking it up, you didn't heal after the cutpurse fight did you. If you want you can say you used a healing potion or some magic you had if you like?

Hm... Honestly, I don't think he'd've drunk a potion for it, but if someone else had wanted to heal him, he'd've gratefully taken it.

For the sake of the action and a little mercy for this. You should have 1 HP left.

If there’s time on the way back, Drogyn will use Lay on Hands to heal up any people not healed up yet.

I did post this. I really did intend to heal people up after that fight and would have if there was enough time before heading back out.

Also, just posted my reaction that might prevent some or all the damage. If the monster choose to take the enfeebled condition, don't forget that affects the damage delivered as well.

Hey folks. Spoke to the GM and, with his permission, I made a quick switch from Redeemer to Paladin. The change was based on the feel of the Redeemer in PbP and having the ask for the GM to make a choice each time. It just seemed awkward and weird. I think this is a much better fit.

Hello all - sorry for going silent with no warning. My wife's mother passed away this weekend, and between that and the holiday season, we are scrambling to get everything in order. I am posting this same note to all of my groups, so some of you will likely see it more than once.

I suspect I won't be only until after Christmas, and maybe not even until after the new year. I will try to catch up on games where I can, but I don't expect to be very successful. If I am a player, please feel free to bot me or drop me as needed. If you bot me, all resources are available to you - I am not worried.

For those I am running, I certainly won't me able to organize combat as I will be remote. But feel free to continue RP if available and I can answer questions as I get a chance.

Hi! Just tagging in to say that yes, the GM was almost definitely banned, but if not, they'll probably be by within the week (the duration of a two-week suspension).

I will be withdrawing from both campaigns and will post over there as well.
