My wife had her gallbladder removed last year. It's apparently a very routine surgery and she still took 2 weeks to recover even with no complications. I had complications after an appendectomy and was out of work for a month. Recovery is not fun!

If it's been 12 hours, we can reasonably stay active for no more than 4 more hours before needing to rest. Realistically no more than 2, since a 10-hour rest would account for morning prep time. (And when you have to walk everywhere, 2 hours is not very long!) So I vote we start looking for a place to spend the night.
