GM TOP BOT

Nal easily climbs across, it’s barely an inconvenience.

GM TOP BOT

AoO Summary: Jack Misses, Cheeper Hits w/ No Damage, Paloma Hits w/ No Damage, Paul Misses. I am going to guess that even if Cashel is armed, he can’t do more than 5 damage on a hit.

_______

Nal Bot AoO, needs a Crit to get through DR.

1d20 ⇒ 14

Combat update coming soon.

GM TOP BOT

Nal, blocked from an easy step and flurry, still decides to move in and try a roundhouse kick into the shin of the flying foe.

IUS: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 for B: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

GM TOP BOT

Midnight tries to move up and sling the devil to death.

Keep IC up, Move, Sling Attack

Sling + IC - no precise: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 1 - 4 = 17 for B + IC: 1d3 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 + 1 = 1

GM TOP BOT

The Kobold releases a shrill shriek, attempt to weaken the devil’s constitution.

Demoralize: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

GM TOP BOT

Dev frowns but shrugs. He looks at Ellen, "I'm always with you, Captain. Where you go, I go."

GM TOP BOT

Dev glares at Akimi, ”Still bloodied over here. But whatever, I guess I’m not as important as Jacques.”

Jacques would be over healed by either 16 or 26 at this point (if godless healing applies to normal treat wounds), lol.

GM TOP BOT

Dev repeats!

Attack bitey thing: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23for P: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 and Fire: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 3) + 2 = 9

GM TOP BOT

Fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Dev seems incredulous that he missed, but bears down and heads on inside to get a cover free angle of attack.

Attack bitey thing: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23 for P: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 and Fire: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 1) + 2 = 4

GM TOP BOT

The mighty Dev launches an electrically crackling shuriken at the Jackal. He refocuses his magic while rubbing his hands together confidently, ”That should do that!”

Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23 for P: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 and Electricity: 2d12 ⇒ (8, 11) = 19

GM TOP BOT

Dev nods at the young fox as the sticky foe falls, ”Good work kid. You are well in the running for third in command.”

He pulls an axe and chops up at the gargoyle.

Spell Attack Hatchet + Produce Flame: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 for Slashing: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 3) + 1 = 5 and Flame: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 3) + 2 = 7

GM TOP BOT

Dev wordlessly repeats his attacks.

Electric Arc Reflex DC 17 vs Both: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 3) + 2 = 7

GM TOP BOT

Dev looks up at the foe flying and the cabinet sticking, ”Careful Captain, it seems these are tricky foes. I think I will just electrocute them.”

Electric Arc Reflex DC 17 vs Both: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4) + 2 = 10

GM TOP BOT

Dev focuses and fires again, ”Pew Pew Fire da Lazurs!”

Attack bitey thing: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 for P: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2and Fire: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 4) + 2 = 8

GM TOP BOT

Seeing that obviously furniture is flamable, Dev tries to set it on fire with a flaming shuriken.

Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 for P: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 and Fire: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 4) + 2 = 8

GM TOP BOT

Dev dusts his pants off and heads over, ”Watcha looking at?”

Perc:
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

He squints, ”Don’t see nuthin.”

GM TOP BOT

Dev notices the foxfire zipping past, ”Glad to have you back Captain, I honestly don’t think I could lead these idiots. Excluding the young one, obviously.”

He focuses again and launches another burning shuriken.

Refocus, Spell Combat ranged shuriken with produce flame.

Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23 for P: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 and Fire: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 2) + 2 = 7

GM TOP BOT

Dev frowns, ”Well s++#. Hmm… I guess maybe killing it will stop bad things from happening? At least either way Jacques is probably next. So that’s fun.”

He focuses and then launches a burning shuriken.

Refocus, Spell Combat ranged shuriken with produce flame.

Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 for P: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 and Fire: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 3) + 2 = 9

GM TOP BOT

Dev steps back as requested and attacks with fire and flame!

Spell Attack Produce Flame: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 for Flame: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 2 = 8

GM TOP BOT

Dev steps up next to the grabbed Captain and points his axe at the owlbear, ”Maybe splitting its attention won’t hurt? Sides, I am pretty awesome up close too.”

He focuses his magic, wreathing his axe in flame and swings.

Chop: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Not even gonna roll damage there…

GM TOP BOT

Sir First Mate Dev strides up, ”Fine. I’ll do it myself. I’d be fine allowing him to nobly sacrifice himself though, for the record.”

He tries to wrastle Jacques free.

Athletics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Athletics Hero Point since the GM knows that fails: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

He shrugs, steps up to face the owl bears and curses at them, ”You want some a dis s&@$!?! Bringit!!!”

If you can’t guess, those attempts fail.

GM TOP BOT

Dev has a spell effect (gravitational pull) that I, the gm, would rule ‘could’ work. But it would function as a +7 vs whatever DC the owlbear has to hold on. Might not be the best option, or at least maybe shouldn’t be the first option. He could also just save the spell and try to drag him, his athletics is +7 as well.

GM TOP BOT

Dev shrugs, happy to be the safest of the four right now, ”Careful Captain, those claws look sharp. And I think Jacques is managing things juuuust fine.”

His hands crackle together and both foe’s furs burns with electricity.

Electric Arc Reflex DC 17 vs Both: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 2) + 2 = 5

GM TOP BOT

The first mate seems confused, "What uh... do dolphins have to do with this?"

But as Captain Ellen acts, so does he. A small ball of flame appears in his hand and it follows the foxfulgur to the same target. Then happily falls back.

Produce Flame: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 for Fire: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 4) + 2 = 7

GM TOP BOT

Dev Perception:
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

After receiving a nice wound wrap, even though he had to pull Akimi’s gaze away from Ellen’s cracked rear three times, Dev wanders into the ogres room to look around. While Akimi is following up on the broken torture device, he kicks a small metal object. After a bit of review it is found to be a bloodseeker beak, something sorta useful if attached to a weapon.

He also looks over the ‘secret door’ and remarks, ”Huh, don’t see it. You sure you saw something here?”

GM TOP BOT

Dev feels no fear, he simply focuses on his arcane mastery and swings again, looking to fell his foul foe!

Spellstrike focus thingy , Spellstrike with acid splash.

Attacksies: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16 for Hatchet + Acif Splash: 2d6 + 1 + 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3) + 1 + (5, 1) + 3 = 15

Kasizzle!

GM TOP BOT

Dev simply steps back again and kazaaps the last two ogres. His job of obliterating one of the foes is done.

Electric Arc Reflex DC 17 vs Yellow/Green: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 4) + 2 = 9

GM TOP BOT

Sir Dev, seeing a good opportunity to unleash one of his stronger spells, simply steps forward and swings his hatchet.

You know, while also wreathing it in electricity and commanding the primal forces of the universe at his whim. Nothing special, really.

Step, Spellstrike with Shocking Grasp.

Attacksies: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23 for Hatchet + Shocking Grasp: 2d6 + 1 + 2d12 ⇒ (3, 1) + 1 + (5, 12) = 22

Kazaaaap!!!

GM TOP BOT

Sir Dev does the same spell at the two targets he can see then falls back to support Jacques.

Electric Arc Reflex DC 17 vs Blue and Red: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4) + 2 = 10

GM TOP BOT

Sir Dev becomes many Sir Devs and pulls out his hatchet.

Mirror Image

GM TOP BOT

Sir Dev moves up next to The Captain. He nudges her, ”Just like old times. Everything trying to kill us. Well, I guess that is also just like recent times too. Maybe we are just suited for this kinda thing?”

His hands crackle and lightning leaps to sizzle the nearest two kobolds.

Electric Arc Reflex DC 17: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 4) + 2 = 8

GM TOP BOT

Dev pulls out his hatchet, steps over and strikes at the door, ”Since someone took my lock picks, I shall use my backup set. It’s a bit sharper.”

Strike: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 for Axe: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 1) + 1 = 8

GM TOP BOT

Dev shrugs, ”I’m not that kind of spellcaster. But why do you think it is magical and how would that matter?”

GM TOP BOT

Dev twirls the cup on his finger and hands it back to Captain Prince Ellen, "Seems like you still need me after all. Anyway, this is an obvious puzzle lock. Simply put, figure out the puzzle and it will open. If not, I can take a crack at it with my tools, but if the puzzle is as boring as most, maybe even Jacques the Running Away Fox can figure it out."

GM TOP BOT

Jacques moves up and attempts to tumble past the dwarf, to confuse and disrespect him, mostly.

"Haha! I will not fall for your foolish tricks. Have at ye!"

Acro Tumble Through vs. Green Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Success!

He stabs!

+1 shortsword vs flat-footed AC: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 for P dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 2 + Precision P dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5

The blade connects and Jacques taunts the dwarf, "Ah yes, an easy strike. Now I shall raise my shield and you will never hit me!!!"

GM TOP BOT

Jacques Will Save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Lol, well okay then.

Jacques boasts about how amazing his brain is as the dwarf's spell seems to do nothing. But maybe there is just nothing up there to hurt?

:P

The swashing-buckler glares at the hiding enemy, "Coward! FACE ME AND SHOW YOUR TRUE COLORS!!!"

Intimidate to Demoralize vs Green Will DC: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 No penalty for not sharing a language due to Jacques' kitsune heritage

GM: That is a success, Green is Frightened 1 and Jacques gains panache. Jacques also uses his Invigorating Fear reaction to gain 5 temp hp.

He strides forward and whips Finley at the jerk, trying to snip his beard right off!

Finley vs Green's Frightened AC: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 for P dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 + P Precision dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6 On a miss still do half of the Confident Finisher dmg, Jacques no longer has panache.

The blade misses the beard and neck, but nicks the dwarf's ear, spraying blood onto the nearby tent.

GM TOP BOT

Ahmerisiel slips around into flanking and strikes at the two, hoping luck is on their side.

+1 keen rapier, heroism, flank, IC: 1d20 + 11 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 11 + 2 + 2 = 29

damage, P + IC: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 = 11 = 11 + sneak attack: 9 + 4d6 ⇒ 9 + (6, 4, 1, 3) = 23

GM TOP BOT

Elsir breaks a toe kicking the empty chest, "STUPID SON OF AN A!*#%~@ CAPTAIN! Yeah sure Elsir, stake out another month's rent on this stupid ass quest and get NOTHING for it. Sure Elsir, stay freaking cursed for the rest of your life? Who cares. Your old 'friends' certainly don't."

When Cawlo reveals there is another secret he rolls his eyes and follows along, "Let me guess, an old broken spyglass or something that points at a sign that says 'the real treasure is the friends you met along the way' or something else stupid. Maybe I can sell the plaque for a few copper and be closer to getting this DAMN RING OFF!"

He pulls at a large skull-faced ring on his hand, it doesn't budge. You hear a popping sound and he curses.

_____________

He looks at the ship, "Well, it's a nice ship. I guess. Magicked up too. Could sell it for a decent price. Might be enough for the casting. But I expect my old crewmates will want to go sail it around willy nilly and I'll continue being screwed."

GM TOP BOT

Elsir yells at the creature while sending more magic at it, "DIE YOU OVERSIZED TOOTHPICK!"

3 action Magic Missile: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1, 3) + 3 = 9

GM TOP BOT

Seeing no advantage to trying anything fancy Elsir just unleashes three bolts of magical energy that slam into the skeleton.

Magic Missile 3 action: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 2, 2) + 3 = 10

GM TOP BOT

Elsir moves into the room, "Listen, I'm sorry about Ellen falling there. Even terrible puns don't deserve death so I hope you can save her. I can't do any healing, but what I can do is make Jadren more useful. I know we don't see eye to eye on anything, but a fight is a fight. So Jadren, here you go."

He casts a spell and the holy warrior feels his muscles quicken!

Move and Haste cast on Jadren. Essentially Jadren gets an extra more OR attack action each round. MAP still applies of course.

GM TOP BOT

Elsir rolls his eyes as Ellen watches him super closely, "I'm not the thief here, I'm a scam artist. There is a distinct difference. Maybe watch my ex bud there if you are worried about the coins."

GM TOP BOT

The sorcerer grabs the longsword and shoves it into his pack, "Aight, let's move on."

GM TOP BOT

Elsir rolls his eyes, "YES ELLEN. We know you can PUN-ch. We get it. Jeeze."

GM TOP BOT

Elsir pokes his head inside, watching the display of his teammates and wondering where the ticking sound is coming from.

But after a few moments of nothing exploding he moves in and looks over the weapons, "Oh, a few of these are magical. I think I might take... ah who am I kidding, magic is stronger than any weapon. You all can pick what you want."

From GM: Elsir identifies three of the weapons as being magical. A +1 longsword, +1 rapier and a +1 spear.

GM TOP BOT

Elsir is now officially not talking to anyone in the group. It's probably a good thing for everyone.

GM TOP BOT

"OOOOOH, I SEEE!!! I play a damn trick on you and I'm on your s%%+list. EL DOES IT AND BLAMMO, NO BIG DEAL JUST A BIT OF PLAYFUL FUN! Yeah, I can see who your buddy is now. Fine, I see the writing on the wall. After I get my share of the treasure, I'm out."

He heads over to the new opening and glances inside.

GM TOP BOT

"DEV!"

"DAMMIT, I wasn't even done giving him a hard time and this bastard took him out. He better be faking." He releases another nasty bolt of lightning at the creature and then raises a puny looking magical shield for protection.

Lightning Bolt Electricity Damage: 4d12 ⇒ (11, 6, 2, 7) = 26 Basic Reflex DC 21

GM TOP BOT

Elsir tries to recall if elementals have any particular issues with lightning, then casts his spell with his most wittiest of one-liners.

Recall Knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

Lightning Bolt Electricity Damage: 4d12 ⇒ (5, 5, 2, 9) = 21 Basic Reflex DC 21

GM TOP BOT

Elsir looks at Ellen, "I don't... I never could tell if you were joking or serious. How about coin instead? We are pirates not cannibals, after all."
