M Halfing Summoner 1

Fosco sits up, holding his hand over his eyes and squinting as if he had a migrane. "I don't want to eat rainbows anymore, and I never did any such thing to my mother."

After his head clears, he removes his hand to see the ladies up. He made ready to speak to them, but then noticed the guys were terribly injured. Quickly he applied a dab of blood from a pouch on the prone elf, speeding up his own natural processes of healing.

Casting Infernal Healing on Nym. +10 HP at a rate of 1 per round for 10 rounds.

Being a holy eagle, it looks with displeasure at the cursing one, while appreciating the bravery of the wizard to defend his comrades. Although being just a dumb eagle, it doesn't really recognize Nym's infernal connections per se. With a screech, it flaps over to attack the foul mouthed ambusher. The fog interfered with it's talon attack and missed the vital point for an armored one.

Seeing that Nym has a potion out, Fosco decides not to use the infernal healing on him. Paladins aren't practical in that way and would probably resent it. Instead he decided to show his own caliber and push the fight forward. Stepping over the dying Halfling he summoned another silver falcon to wreak havoc amongst their assailants.

Yeah, supposedly they are doing something like the animal companions, where you have different outsiders that you can take and then adjust feats and ability scores slightly. I liked the idea that you could make anything you wanted, but now it's looking more regulated which is sad.

I do think that Summoners are a bit stronger than they should be, but they do miss out on versatility, especially in the higher levels. Of course, PFS never really gets that high, so they tend to outshine the full casters. That's a bit of a problem.

Now when they do a nerf, sometimes they let the people who made their characters earlier keep going with it, and sometimes they allow a rewrite. Either way, I'm probably going to hold off on too much with Fosco until it's ironed out. One day I'd like to get a character all the way up, but after I quit playing my first and I'm unsure about my second, I'll have to make up a third.

I'm thinking Hunter. I built one for an AP, but I could probably transfer him over without too much trouble.

Dark Archive

M Halfing Summoner 1

Yeah, Summoners can summon quickly. Most people forget because they usually keep an Eidolon around. Fosco has kept his hidden because he wasn't really needed and he likes to keep things close to the vest.

About joining you for another one, I'm torn. Fosco is really fun, but I think they're changing the Summoner when the Unleashed book is coming out in April. I'm not sure of the rules and such, but I'd hate to get partway through playing him and end up with having to rewrite his crunch completely, as his Eidolon is probably the thing that will go, and that's the reason I wrote him up in the first place.

In other words, I'm still thinking about it.

We've got a guy in my home group that rolls more 1s than really should be allowed. It doesn't matter what dice he uses, I tracked him over several nights and he rolls a 1 in about every 8 rolls or so. It really sucks, since he plays a paladin too and can only really miss his saves when he rolls a 1, which he does just as often if not more than the rest of the group.

Not knowing what was going on, Fosco blanched a bit when the fog came down. He did receive an order from the front to go back, so go back he did. He backed out of the fog and prepared for whatever he might be able to do to help in the situation.

Fosco would move back another 10' from the position he's in, and ready an action to summon something on top of any enemy that comes through. Otherwise, he's not doing anything else. There's no one that he can see.

Fosco, filling in the information after being given leave to do so from the paladin talks a bit more excitedly than he had done before. Perhaps it was the alcohol that loosened him up a bit. "The children also say that they are being used for unpaid labor at fancy houses in the area. Auntie Baldwin is pocketing the money and the kids aren't getting any benefit from the work they do, not even fresh clothing."

Dark Archive

M Halfing Summoner 1

The halfling's eyes light up at the mention of smoothing things over with alcohol. He turns his countenance to the lady of the house. "Don't mind if I do!" He says greedily and takes a swig of the bottle. "Ah, that's nice. Thank you for your hospitality!" He handed the bottle back to the matron. The usually somewhat subdued halfling had a bit of a spring in his step as he followed the paladin.

Dark Archive

M Halfing Summoner 1

"Oh! Then where'd they come from? Wouldn't you look nice in some lovely dresses. Or a suit of armor! Or both!" Fosco smiles at the girls and moves along.

Coming back to the matron, he notices some very sore feelings and he tries to calm matters down. "Friends, let's not pester this slave mistress anymore. She has enough problems organizing the children's workload and pawning the charitable gifts she gets just so she can feed the poor dears as well as keep up with the latest fashions."

Focso blanches a little at the forced child labor. Going to another group of kids with his casual demeanor. "I've got some neat rocks in my pocket. All I had to do was go down to the river to get them. Your buddy over there says Amy does housework. Do you all work for free?"

Having gotten the boys talking and having also made friends, he presses the matter. That lady treat you well? She's not Beating or eating anyone is she? You get enough to eat?"

Dark Archive

"Thank you for your kind words ma'am, but my gifts are paltry next to the eldritch might of this great and noble Elf. If you don't mind me, I'll talk to the ones more befitting my station." Fosco wanders off in search of kiddos.

If you sneak "Smurf" somewhere into your posts, the boards change your avatar for that post. It's been that way for a while, but not everyone knows about because they just don't say smurf very often.

The halfling looks downcast at Asami's censure. "My apologies, milady. I was unsure of how to approach it. If I must say so, handling the situation with confidence is better than any solution I'd devise."

At the temple, Fosco looks just as comfortable as he did standing atop the pentacle at the Paracountess' place. Being familiar with both ends of the spectrum had it's benefits. But as others should take the rightful lead, he waited until they spoke before acknowledging his agreement to take and weigh the situation for the regal lady.

Fosco makes ready to go, seeing the tremendous puzzle solving exploits of the heroes around him and while waiting for the door to open, he notices something out of the corner of his eye that makes him speechless. Wide eyes glance up at her as he wonders what to do or say in this situation. Palace life had left him unprepared for such a thing.

Dark Archive

M Halfing Summoner 1

Fosco stayed in the back watching the others have gone to town to figure out the puzzle. They didn't need him in the way to figure out such a simple thing. As the viper was cut in half, he was glad to have been in the back.

Sorry for the delay, I was so sick yesterday I couldn't sit at the computer. I'm feeling much better today.

Dark Archive

M Halfing Summoner 1

Fosco dismisses his creature before it can dismember the imp. "Your spiteful words have no power. You'd do best to learn your lesson."

The young but white haired halfling bowed reverently toward the Paracountess and followed silently behind the noble elf as he exited the building.

Dark Archive

M Halfing Summoner 1

Yeah, if Fosco had said it in character and you mentioned it, he'd be bright red to the tops of his ears!

Dark Archive

M Halfing Summoner 1

Actually was planning to do it on the bed across from Asami. Would that give me a flanking bonus?

Dark Archive

M Halfing Summoner 1

Fosco shakes his head at the insolence of the creature. "It's too bad it had to come to this." he speaks mournfully.

Canting some arcane words, he causes another portal to appear on the floor but instead of the infernal creature that came through before, comes a silver falcon with a halo over it's head and a holy fire in it's eyes. Seeing the imp and recognizing it as a hated foe, it lets out a shriek of celestial rage.

Noting the identification by the noblility, Fosco attempted to hold out his arms to his compatriots in a gesture of peace. "Hold on there friend. I too have been pressed into service along with my kin. But it does not help your plight to make a move before you have the power to carry it out." He sets down his staff and stepped forward with his hands empty toward the area where the things flew from.

"It does you no good to throw such a tantrum. You're acting like some kind of fey with your emotional outbursts and silly games. Where is your patience? Now is not the time for your ascendance. Just because you have access to that container doesn't mean you have the means to open it. If your gamble is wrong, is it worth throwing away all you've earned? Try to calm down and think through this rationally."

For the sake of solidarity with the ruling class, Fosco also lobs a blob of acid toward a rat and misses as well. The fiendish eagle continues it's assault as well, flapping toward other rats if the first one falls.

Assuming the first rat goes down, eagle will five foot flap over to the next. He probably wouldn't get a flank, but it doesn't matter much with rolls like that.
Also, disregard this message if they're dead before Fosco goes. I've got a hot date tonight, so you won't hear from me until tomorrow.

Dark Archive

M Halfing Summoner 1

Fosco gasps slightly as the rats descend upon them and makes preparations to fight. He grips his staff and looks a little worried before calling forth words of greater power than before, Fosco utters the black speech of the nine hells and a small firey gate appears on the floor out of which rises an infernal bird of prey with horns and scales as well as the normal feathers. The creature maneuvers and attacks with it's natural weapons, tearing into the target like it were it's natural prey, which it almost was.

Fosco summons a fiendish eagle to square above the disabled dire rat and the eagle five foot steps (flies) to flank with Sele, hence the extra +2 to hit.

After making his way to the boat, he looks up at the ledge. "I'm pretty sure I'll need someone to toss me up there."

I believe no one has a rank in disable device. Without that, we cannot make a check at all. I might have to dump a rank in that at level 2.

Fosco, realizing that the door is locked, took another look around. It was really shabby. Perhaps there was a way inside. He was pretty small, and so really only a small hole or a loose plank would be necessary to get his little self inside. He keeps his voice down as he addresses his compatriots. "If there's a little spot I could squeeze through, maybe we could get me inside and I could unlock it from there."

Fosco found himself bowing and leaving only to find he was the only one in the street. He faintly heard conversation coming from inside, it didn't sound heated, so he expected people to be exiting shortly. In some respects it was easier to be such a small person as he could make a hasty exit. On the other hand it was a problem because if Keera didn't remember him being there, the favor returned later could have difficulty being collected.

Ready to move on if others are.

Fosco pads along after them in his bare feet. He didn't want to slow them down as they all seemed to have such long legs so he kept up the tempo. It would probably be easier to ride the puppy, but he tends to annoy people he didn't know so he'd better hoof it himself for now.

M Halfing Summoner 1

After peering around him for vermin in a slightly nervous way, Fosco realizes that he meant to insult his fellows. Not completely understanding all of it, the halfling bows his head in a humble gesture toward the aristocratic elf. "Oh, I fully acknowledge my inferiority. I am but a humble servant sent to do the bidding of my master. Because the master has perceived there to be talent in me and sent me here to accomplish his will. I am Fosco, Fosco Whetherbe at your service." He gave a slight deepening of his bow.

When given the information and order of errands, he looks slightly confused. Not only is he slightly unfamiliar with the city, but really doesn't know where to begin. "I have no opinion on the order of these particular events, but I am impressed with the importance of tackling them in the correct fashion. If you feel you have a grasp of the geography, let's use that to our advantage."

Fosco's with the Kitsune on this one. It seems to be the best plan. Also, it's cool to play a jerk. I've done it several times and do enjoy it. I don't mind a bit of interplay between characters, it tends to make it more memorable.

The little white haired halfling stood in the back, seemingly unnoticed. He liked it that way as a general rule, but it was probably good that the others knew he was there and coming along with the group. "Errands are a good chance to make new friends. The more friends one has, the more influence one has. I for one am looking forward to the opportunities hidden within our envelope.

His keen brown eyes hid intelligence as well as prudence and he drank in the situation like it was a Ulfen Mead at the end of a rowing day. This was an interesting group, but could he trust them with his life? He may have to regardless of what he thought. At least the elf was from Cheliax. It felt good to have someone from a familiar place.

Short, cute, quite and polite, this halfling is dressed in red and black and keep his chin down, often only looking at people through his eyebrows. He keeps his eidolon unsummoned and his infernal powers hidden unless he's specifically asked or the direst need is upon them.

Fosco was decent with people but he really wasn't a big fan of artifacts so he made room at the table for others. He did sit nearby and was enjoying some wine. The small halfling didn't imbibe too much though, there were likely some Aspis agents that would still like to see this not go down. If they didn't catch them in the harbor, they might try to interrupt this sale. He kept his eyes and ears out for suspicious activity. He wished that Splax could be with them, but decided he would arouse too much suspicion. Cerberus' tended to do that kind of thing.
