Hello! I am looking for one PC to jump into our RoW campaign. We are currently in book one and out exploring in the Border Woods. You will not be starting with the party or have any connection with them. Once I pick the PC I will fill you in more with where you are and how you are getting connected with the group.
Current Cast:
Alice Cobbel – Human Slayer
Jujopotamous Jumbomanic the 3rd – Gnome Prankster Bard
Revekka Verusya – Human(Jadwiga) – Ley Line Guardian Witch
Trawets Aarock – Human Admixture Evoker Wizard
Character Creation:
Stats: 15 point buy. I do follow aging rules and have a personal soft spot for the elderly wizard.
Races: Core, archetypes are welcomed.
Classes: All, minus the occult classes. My in person gaming group has never delved into that realm so I know nothing about them. Archetypes are welcomed.
Traits: 2 and one must be from the RoW Player's Guide. I will allow a drawback for an extra trait. But, all of your traits and the drawback must be built into the character.
Starting Gold: Max +50. Buy what your character would need in their daily life. You never know when you are going to need that mirror, fishing lure, and false-bottom cup.
Alignments: I am open to all alignments. This is a team game and as in real life if a person isn't working well on the team they can get let go. The same goes for your PC.
Background skills: I will allow background skills, but use them to help enhance your characters background.
Background: Who are you? How did you become more than the common commoner? Please tie in your background skills, Traits and Drawback if you took one.
I am sure I am not the only one looking for this kind of resource.
I am running a PBP and am looking for maps that go with this AP. Some of the maps in the books work, others do not. Lets use this thread to share what you have found as good useable maps.
Stolen Lands Hex Map I used this with a dark layer over it. As my PCs explore it I cut out the Hex to fully reveal it. Example Here.
You are traveling the South Rostland Road, heading towards this Oleg’s Trading Post. Not much is known, or better yet not much was shared with you about this Oleg and his Trading Post. What you do know is spelled out in the Charter that all four of your hold in your hands.
Whatever your personal reason are, each of you have answered the call of the city of Restov to aid in the exploration of The Stolen Lands. Along with this exploration, you are to map the area and its significant land masses(specifically any prosperous resources) and to rid this land of the bandits that have claimed these untamed lands as their own.
The Lord Mayor of Restov, Ioseph Sellemius, has charged you with these tasks and to act as you see fit for the goodness of the nation. By the charters that you have been granted authorty by Lord Noleski Surtova, Regent of the Dragonscale Throne.
You are just a few miles north of Oleg’s and should be arriving at the Trading Post in time for dinner.
Hello all! I am looking for one PC, maybe two, that would be interested in a solo campaign.
Why a solo game?:
I want your character to be the solo act. I want to throw all my creative juices at your character and build a story around them that would really make them shine. Bards will sing of their adventures. I want their name to be written in the Tome of Legacy for all to know what they have done, good or evil. I will be using the reputation and fame/infamy system from the Ultimate Campaign book.
What will we be playing:
I have three main ideas and the person(or two) that I pick will have a hand in what we do.
A) Homebrew
B) Kingmaker
C) Shattered Star
I want to have an open world of possibilities for you to play in. A&B will do that. C gives a good grounded city to start in Magnimar but then it goes into world exploration.
"Well, which one is it?" We will decide together.
Character Creation:
This is less important now because I will not be picking your character on the grounds of the build. I will be picking the character solely on background and personality.
Stats: 25 point buy. I will not be using the age system, so feel free to make your character as old as the background sees fit.
Races: Core, but I do allow all Paizo racial trait archetypes.
Classes: Core, but I do allow all Paizo class archetypes. I also will allow Unchained Barbarian/Monk/Rogue
Background Skills: 2 per level. Make them fit your character's background and concept. Use these to help flesh out the character.
Favorite Class Options: I will give you two per level, but once they are selected you cannot change them. HP, Skill, or Class options. Pick 2 of the 3.
Feats: I will be giving you Toughness as a free feat along with Leadership. You will get these at 1st level. Your cohort will start off at first level, but will then fall inline with your Leadership score when it comes to their level. They will always be at least 2 levels behind you.
Traits: 2 Traits and 1 Drawback. Use these to help shape your characters background and personality.
HP: Max every level. This is the same for your cohort. If you have an animal companion/familiar they will gain HP as per normal.
What should I submit?:
I want to pick based upon who your character is, so tell me their story.
Who are they and where do they come from?
What are the things they like and dislike?
Do they have any quirks or phobias? What are they and how did they come about?
Do they have any sayings or catchphrases? My wife and I are currently watching Outlander and in the season we are in there is a character that always says "mark me." It happens at least 3 times an episode.
What does their family look like? Parents? Siblings? Spouse? Children?
If you need help with this, the background generator in the Ultimate Campaign offers an excellent starting point for you to build from.
Submission Due Date: April 9th @ 11:59:59 pm Central. I will pick the PC/PCs on the 10th.
Dawn seemed to come early today. Ever since you picked up the Announcement of a caravan master in need of able bodied guards to escort his caravan from Mara down the Old Trade Road to Grayhaven, all you could think about is how great of an opportunity this would be. Mara might be a town you have called home all your life or for a short while, but this is the perfect opportunity for you to get out of this dying town.
As you make your way towards Hero's Gate you can hear the gruff voice of a dwarven man barking orders to a team of men and woman hooking up wagons to draft horses. "Move yer arses ye lazy bums. aam payin' guid gauld fur ye tae gie these wagons hitched, an' we ur pest due fur when we waur tae sit aff." He continues on to encourage the team to speed up.
As you all slowly approach you notice that this caravan of wagons has nine wagons in total. Quite the number of wagons, and understandable for the call to hire guards. Walking up from the wagon train to the Hero's Gate, the dwarven man looks the lot of you up and down nods and begins to speak; "Ah tak' it ye ur th' lot fa took tae th' flyer? th' nam is Dugal Stonepick, an' jist as th' pepper says each ay ye will gie 25 gauld upon arrival tae Grayhaven... weel those fa ur alife when we make it thaur. Ah ainae gonnae lie, th' attacks oan caravans hae increased these lest few months. ance caravan has e'en gain completely missin'..." He wipes the sweat from his brow with a handkerchief, gives his nose a blow, and continues on; "But frae th' looks ay th' lot ye seems loch a boorichie 'at can handle yoorselves. sae whit dae ye say. och aye ur nae?"
The dwarven man stands waiting for your reply, to if you accept the terms.
I found a fun translator that does a "dwarven accent." If it is too difficult for the group I can switch over to just typing it out. Figured it could be fun.
Congrats!!! I am looking forward to starting this adventure with you five. It is going to be interesting to see how everything plays out. Having only the first adventure, it seems that how the events within this adventure plays out will change future events in future adventures. I am excited to see this interaction play out.
Take this time to post with your alias and get to know one another. If you would, share your time zones and when you typically are available to post during the day. This way we are all on the same page when it comes to our daily postings.
As a DM I wait for the party to let me know what they are wanting to do and where they are wanting to go when the choice is given, I will never railroad the party. That being said, you are all being hired on as guards for a caravan... So I suppose it technically won't be "railroading."
One last thing, take this time to go over your character sheets. Make sure you have spend your copper/silver/gold on the items your character might believe they need on this journey, there aren't towns along the way to restock.
No matter if you grew up here or just passing through, you find yourself currently are in the once prosperous town of Mara. As you are making you way through the day you keep seeing and hearing about an opportunity that intrigues you. The town crier, chatter at the tavern, and even posted on the trading post is the announcement about a caravan master seeking aid of four guards. You will be traveling from Mara down the old Trade Road to the gates outside of Grayhaven.
At dawn you show up outside the Heroes' Gate south of town with the announcement flyer in hand.

Hello all! I have recently subscribed to the monthly Dungeon in a Box adventure path. Each month, for 12 months, I will be receiving adventures that can either be used as one-shots or as a larger storyline. I am looking to do the latter. Dungeon in a Box is a D&D 5e game, but I am converting it to Pathfinder 1e. I am looking for 4 PCs to join me on this journey through the year.
Character Creation:
Classes: CRB & APG only. I do allow class archetype variants
Races: Core only but I do allow racial trait variants
15 Point Buy
Background Skills used, I like the bonus to help build on who your character is
Not using traits for this
Gold max
Alignments: Any, you are mercenaries. But, keep in mind that where things go after this first adventure is based on your interactions with the party. It could keep you hired on or not.
Background: I don’t need a tome, but just give me a brief background and a sneak peak of your characters personality.
Expectations:
Posting 1/day during the week. Weekends can vary because I do know life happens. Some weekends I will be able to post daily, others I won’t be able to post at all. Because of this, I will not hold you to anything specific on the weekend.
Because this is a Dungeon in a Box monthly subscription, there could be times where we finish this month’s adventure before the next one arrives. When this happens we can use that time for RP to further character development and bonds between the PCs
I will be closing submissions on 2/16/2020 at 12:00 PM Central, and then deciding that evening and starting the adventure on 2/17/2020.
Is it just me or does it seem like there aren't a lot of new games happening over in the recruitment section? I am running a the Reign of Winter AP and I am loving it, but I think I would like to join a game. My in person group has "temporarily" disbanded because of life seven months ago, and really have the itch to play.
I know this might be off brand because this is the Paizo PBP section, but is there anywhere else that is more alive for Pathfinder 1st ed games?
Calling all “Yes, and…” people!! If you know what that means then I am looking for you.
From time to time it happens and we had a player who needed to back out. I am looking for one player who would like to join the DM Squirrel Ninja’s Reign of Winter Campaign. The party has just started. They have recently left the starting hamlet of Heldren, discovered the ambush site of the Lady’s wagon and have just entered the Border Woods.
Below is the current cast. I will say that I will take any application, but healing support of any kind would be extremely useful.
I have no time limit for submissions other than once I see one that looks like it will be a good fit the recruitment will be closed. Post early!

Posting Rates: I know life happens, but I would love to see a pace of 1 post per week day and 1 post a weekend. If people post more than that, that is cool.
1:Armory 2: Isker’s Smithy 3:General Store 4:Town Hall 5:Willowbark Apothecary 6:Barber 7:The Silver Stoat 8:Livery Stable 9:Town Square/”The Lady” Statue of a beautiful woman. 10:Ionnia Teppen’s House 11:Temple of Erastil 12:Carpeter 13:Heldren Sawmill 14:The Butcher of Jalrune 15:Old Mother Theodora’s
The sleepy village of Heldren has rarely seen so much excitement or concern. Hunters from the nearby Border Wood speak of unnaturally cold weather at the height of summer that descended on the forest just days ago. Heavy snow followed, and those who returned spoke of an uneasy presence in the woods, as well as new, dangerous predators. No one knows what this event means, but the town’s soothsayer, Old Mother Theodora, claims dark times lie ahead.
As if in proof of that dire prophecy, a badly wounded mercenary arrived in town yesterday, claiming to be a bodyguard of Lady Argentea Malassene. He told the village council that the noblewoman’s escort came under attack by bandits and strange, wintry creatures near the edge of the Border Wood. He alone escaped, and Lady Argentea was dragged away into the forest. Now the townsfolk cast fearful eyes towards the snowy forest, worried what else might emerge to threaten their peaceful villiage…
Dusk has settled on the Village of Heldren and as the community is trying to wind down. Tensions are high with word of predators nearby and travelers being attacked, killed, or even worse dragged away for who knows what. Because of this, most people find themselves gathered at the town’s only tavern “The Silver Stoat.”
The Silver Stoat has recently become a bustling gathering place for the community partly because of the threats, but even more so because of the traveling bard that has arrived in town within the past week or so. Jujopotamous Jumbomanic the Third, Jujo for short, has been earning his room, meals, and drink while in Heldren in return for his services as a bard. He has even earned some coin from the people as tips! Perform Check Jujo, please
For those of you who head to The Silver Stout, upon entering the fire is roaring! You can tell that the owners, Menander(Husband) & Kale(Wife) Garimos, want to help erase the cold from people minds as they enter the Stout. There is a Gnome man standing on a makeshift platform beside the stone fireplace on the left end of the building. From time to time you see Menander peaking his head out from the kitchen making sure all have enough to eat, while Kale tends the bar. There are a few bar maids tending the patrons.
One walks by with mugs of ale in each hand; “Sit where you like hun! We’ll be right with you.” She flashes a warm smile and continues one to deliver the ale.
For those who don’t head to The Silver Stout, where do you find yourselves as dusk is settling in on the community?
I am excited as we start out together on this RoW AP.
There are a few things before we officially start that I would like to cover.
1) Get to know one another! My goal is to run this AP to completion, that means we are going to spend a lot of time over the next X years playing this game.
2) Go over our character sheet and be sure that you have purchased all of the equipment you would like. You have max gold plus 50, be sure to buy all the items your character would have in life. Have it listed in the character's alias.
3) I would like to know a single file and a side by side marching order.
1-2-3-4-5
and
1-3-5
2-4
4) Posting. I typically post in the morning and evenings. I would like everyone to post once per day Mon-Fri and once on the weekend Sat/Sun. I know life happens and I am flexible with that, but please let me know if you are gone for any period of time.
I am about to run my first AP and it is RoW.
I know the recommended party size is 4, which is what I posted in the recruitment thread.
I am going through the sorting process and I have it down to 5 strong candidates whose character concept and background would be a great fit for the story, and I have some things I could tie in to help them feel more connected.
IF I were to go with 5 PCs for the AP, what are the recommended tweaks that should be made?
Well around here it has dropped below freezing and there is snow on the ground. If that doesn't get you in the mood for some Reign of Winter action I do not know what would!
Welcome, I am the Squirrel Ninja! I am looking for four brave souls that are interested in playing through the Reign of Winter AP to completion.

That should be all for now. Please ask any questions you might have.
