I'm joking. Mostly. People who come from a country that didn't invent Poutine or Sugar Pie have little to offer on the culinary-bribery front. If you think Poutine is the height of culinary satisfaction, I think I can bribe you quite easily... I am not Canadian, but Poutine is something sublime at the right time. Especially after a cold winter day outside... Yum!

Nice tie in Thod! Everything goes better with a sensible background. :)

KC you just want my spellbook of healing +infinity?
@ BrotherZael
Lol. The fence was put up so that the poor dog could have more than 20 feet to roam outside.
@ KC
No leash in the yard. I have video of what "small folk" do to lawn gnomes when no one is around...

heh heh heh ideas flow... pouring like a simmering pot, a whistle echoing through the dark house. It is late at night, so why is the kettle on, you might wonder, no? heh. Hey thanks! I almost forgot the poor doggy outside! musta slipped it's leash? Naw, in the yard. Well actually just as comfy outside as in but I had not realized it was so late. I like my girl inside at night. Prevents fights with bandits err... raccoons.

Maybe what we need is: 3 months into EE a big "Fair" with competitions in multiple things. Categories to be determined by what is available and measurable at that time. Have some fun. Burn off some of this venom so that we don't carry it longer than we have to.

Even if they get the best of me, I still ignore them in the future and use it as a benchmark to determine whom I wish to associate with in-game. Perfectly legit style and probably soothing to be around.

In many ways the PVP is fully underway here already. I don't like that some might get carried from the forum to the game, but there is always some feeling of satisfaction if you have a nice "backstory" to your actions.
Just don't make it your whole story or your target's whole story. Get it out and get on... Absolutely. Once the debt has been paid, it's a non-issue. In fact, crossing a name off the Book of Grudges is one of my favorite things. That is exactly how I read your posts Kard. I didn't mean to imply anything different. :)
It is nice to have a reason to want someone's head. If they have offended you in this "Quasi-Role Play", so much the better! Whether we admit it or not, this is pre stage RP story here.

You have mentioned that you will be both taking caravans and escorting caravans. Can merchants assume that your cost to escort will be competitive with the going rate for other non affiliated hires of the same nature?

DeciusBrutus wrote: Fidelis is also responsible for determining if it is Aeternum or not, and not participating if they are the same 'guild' as Aeternum. If Fidelis is distinct from Aeternum, and their members didn't vote for Aeternum during LR1, and aren't presently a member of Aeternum, then they are allowed to form a 'guild' and seek their own settlement during the current Land Rush.
As of this moment, Fidelis' plans are to reside in Callambea. Because Callambea is an Aeternum settlement, all of our votes will go there. We are currently reviewing our placed votes to ensure that none ended up for Golgotha. They would be 0 to very few. If we find any, they will be changed.
The Land Rush is 10 weeks long. If Fidelis decides to look elsewhere for residence, as a Company, we may change any votes not used in LR 1 at that time. We are looking for a place with banana colored horses sporting neon purple manes and tails...
Thank You for your patience as we look into the matter and try to resolve any possible mistakes made from incorrect interpretation of the Land Rush 2 Guidelines.

I'm a Thane in Aeternum, a proper Dwarf of course, running an internal CC called the Hounds of the Imperium. We like contracts that let us be violent; mercenary work, guarding caravans, bounty hunting and the like.
So hello to the Community at large, can't wait to do business when we get in-game.

Summersnow wrote: Audoucet wrote: People are not worried about PvP anytime anywhere, people are worried about PvP everytime everywhere. While I agree with this sentiment I also believe that in most games non-consensual pvp is little more then ganking or griefing.
IF GW finds a way to make pvp worth the loss of items, time and the grief factor that inevitably comes with it people will eventually get over there hangups about pvp and the game could be a huge success.
Given the piecemeal nature of game implementation and the last I checked subscription fee to play that could be a rather huge hurdle to overcome give the many quality F2P games out there now & the number that will inevitably be release by the time this hits open enrollment.
A couple of quick questions I have for the people quoting memorable pvp experiences.
How many of them involved significant item loss or time loss due to death or did you just pop up, run back and start fighting again?
Did any of those games create an artificial item cap that restricted you from using items / gear you want, i.e. only being able to thread lower level gear vs 1-2 pieces of the gear you really want to use?
My story was from DFUW. Loot was 100% of carried (including coin). Restrictions were on what your "role" could use (mostly armor types) with none on your level. The loss could be significant if you let it.

This community might go the route of all others as they grow and expand to in-game activities. There will certainly be a lot more instances of ways to get hurt feelings or come out with a sense that you have been abused. That leads to complaining as well as epeen boasting and cruel rebuttal to complaint.
On the other hand, if there ever was a chance for a non toxic "core community" to shape and guide itself as it expands, this is it. This is a chance that doesn't come along often in MMORPGs. A model for slow steady growth.

What about zergs WITH agency. Hard to believe but still one the most whined about things in an open PVP game. ;)

Here you go. Hope this helps...

PAX FIDELIS
- Lawful Good "Member Division" of the Xeilian Empire
- Seeking new Members, Friends and Allies
- PVP. PVE, Gathering, Crafting
We are focused and intent on
- Fun and Fellowship, deep and positive community ties
- Positive sportsmanlike game play, as intended by the design
- Organization, Opportunity, Innovation

- Using our experience and welcoming that of ALL others
The Future
For the immediate future (Early Enrollment) we will be helping Pax Aeternum establish and empower Callambea. Defending and building what we hope will be a mighty Trade Hub.
Beyond that we will be securing a settlement of our own (New Kirke), expanding Fidelis own flexibility and greatly that of our Empire and Allies.
We are NOT a single Company
- Pax Fidelis (Administrative and RP)
- The Stalwart Shields (Militia, PVP, Escalations)
*::*Hoc Scuto Defendam, Hoc Ferro Ulciscar*::*
- The Exchequer (Economy, Crafting, and Settlement Management)
- Your Company *Here* as an Equal Member or Ally
Excellence Doesn't Just Happen
Come be part of something great!
Interested individuals or groups, read how to apply here.
If you have questions, ideas for Alliance or exotic gifts list them here or drop Pax Khas, Pax Sentath or Myself a PM.
@ Toombstone
Hmmm... I don't think that we are speaking the same language. You are taking the organization to a level beyond Pathfinder Online. Which is fine if you want to see it that way. We are largely at fault for the use of "Pax" prefixes to show solidarity. Now it is a "set" concept. There does not seem to be much that can be written to change that opinion, anyway, so I should not have chimed in there.
Carry on....
<Magistry> Toombstone wrote: Xeen wrote: What I am saying is... Golgotha was its own entity with its own population. That population joined Pax, they did not join Aternum. While this is true, Pax members are Pax members first and foremost and then members of their respective companies 2nd. To me, this invalidates the "they are separate entities" argument. So the keyword in your quote is 'was'. Golgotha 'was' its own entity. Now, they are merely a subdivision of Pax with their priorities being Pax > Company. Such a big Eye you have and still you cannot see...

Glad to see some Companies or "Guilds" thinking about merging for the voting power. Pretty smart as long as it is not an artificial merger. Be sure that the groups all have something in common such as Ideals, focus (PVP, crafting, etc...) or even larger more esoteric outlooks that you share.
Now, how do y'all decide who gives up their settlement bid to join who? ;P
