Away a bit for Thanksgiving... back now.

Eli confirms his assent that the amethyst sage mentioned earlier should be the target of their scrying and takes careful notes of the position of the stars.

"Tahonikepsu will no doubt be interested in the location of this sage."

Curious. They seek the amethyst sage. I am aware of the sapphire, diamond, topaz, ruby and emerald sages, but not this amethyst...

"Fascinating. I have encountered these glass golems before, and it was only through a magical infusion from the Diamond Sage that we prevailed. I hope this one will be... sufficiently weakened by this process."

Any checks to confirm the undead sphinx is legit and not capturing the essences of these golems into a gem to power her own evil machinations? Spellcraft/Arcana/Religion on the process of the flawed gem creation, etc?

Closing the chronicle, he returns it to his back and nods.

"Very well..."

Since it wouldn't take much, Eli would combine the alchemical reagents, expecting that if he were to use them, he would do so in the next half-hour while exploring the lower level.

Eli advances towards the breech in the western wall.

"Curious... perhaps this is how thieves invaded these archives in an attempt to pillage its secrets..."

The half-elf looks around for signs of the intruders.

"This will take too much time to study in detail, but I'm sure Tahonikepsu will be most interested in its contents."

Damage Taken:

Eli was AC27 at the time of the pounce, so he took all 3 hits of 15, 21 and 17, for a total of 53.

With ablative barrier up, the first 15 of that was converted to nonlethal damage, so 38 lethal and 15 nonlethal sustained.

Eli, blood burbling up from his mouth after the vicious injuries he sustained so swiftly, he could barely bring his sword up in an attempt to parry, nods his agreement.

"Indeed *cough*, we were merely trying to protect the knowledge within. We are allies of the Jeweled Sages, after all..."

Eli'thir wills some of his wounds to knit (spontaneous healing, 5hp) as he backs away from the pouncing sphinx.

"What of this red mist, is this friend or foe to you sphinx?"

Eli'thir backs away from the sphinx and returns to the long hall to survey the scene of the battle.

Eli'thir will ready an action to throw a bomb at the two mummies should the sphinx seem to not be attacking them and confirming the mummies are indeed their foes.

Readied Action:

Posted here in a spoiler so I don't hold up the action while at work today. This bomb is thrown at the pair of mummies assuming that's the way this is swinging. Eli aims at the left mummy.

Bomb (ranged touch): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23 for 4d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 3) + 4 = 14

With the explosive bomb discovery, the right takes splash damage of 8. The primary needs to make a DC17 Reflex save or catch on fire.

With a sigh, he steps through the illusionary wall, announcing its presence to those who may not have yet identified it.

At best, you can get next to her with 60' fly speed. Definitely not past her or to the sleds.

Next to her is fine is for this round. Catching up and getting to the sleds is more of a next-round action I wager. You can use your best judgement on where Eli would go... it's more of an action to force her to surrender so we can figure out what's going on, rather than murder her. :)

Eli gives Omrax the slighest of nods.

"I am hardly a sir. I believe that title is only reserved for the knights of..."

Seeing Omrax's expression at his clarification, the half-elf cuts himself short as he quickly quaffs an extra (std action; Fly) and takes to the air, quickly moving to intercept the woman and her attempt to board a sled.

Did we get hit with an entangle? If so, here's a Reflex save to avoid it.

Reflex: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

If possible, Eli will land in between her and the sleds if she hasn't reached them yet, so that she'd be forced to provoke an AoO to continue to them. Otherwise, he'd actually land on the same sled she has chosen. He will hold the AoO if she surrenders.

"I suggest you surrender instead of flee. We will spare you if you do so."

AoO (if provoked): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 for 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

I trust my GM's math! I probably accidentally healed 10 since I'm used to having ablative barrier up and healing 5 lethal + 5 non lethal. Or, something like that... :)

Will or Fort? +10 Fort or +5 Will to below...

1d20 ⇒ 18

Looks like either will make it. Eli began at 59, gets to full with Fredrik's channel and drops back to 55/66hp with the 11 damage hit.

Eli'thir once again attempts to trust his elven reflexes to tumble away from his attackers.

Acrobatics (to avoid AoO): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

After gaining some distance, he lobs another of his alchemical bombs at one of the ruffians, knowing the man is standing far enough from Omrax for him to not injure the paladin.

Targeting the northeastern-most thug. It will hit the other one 10ft away with splash if he's still up.

Bomb, ranged touch, prayer: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 1 = 26 for 4d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2, 5, 6, 4) + 4 + 1 = 22

DC17 for the NE thug to avoid catching fire. Everyone in the 10ft splash also gets to roll DC17 to take 9 splash or 4 splash.

Eli winces as the pick sinks into his flesh, but focuses his thoughts on the flow of blood, willing it to slow and mend itself.

Use spontaneous healing as a free action to heal 5hp.

He once again attempts to seize the advantage of several of the thugs being grouped up in a "perfect" formation by stepping away from the man attacking him to line up a throw.

Acrobatics (to avoid AoO): 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 1 = 14

Bomb, ranged touch, prayer: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 1 = 15 for 4d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 4) + 4 + 1 = 18

Once again at the horned guy. Because Eli moved, there should be no cover.

DC17 for the horned guy to avoid catching fire. Everyone in the 10ft splash also gets to roll DC17 to take 9 splash or 4 splash.

Well done.

I 100% approve and appreciate what you've done here to make a great game for us.

Highly recommended PbP/Forums GM. Can't get better than that!

Round 1

Eli, trusting once again that Omrax will serve as the better obstacle than he could when he hasn't yet had the chance to quaff his empowering elixirs, reaches for an explosive mixture to effect the most destruction.

Eli throws his bomb at the target with the horns, as the splash radius will be the most effective (10ft from explosive bomb discovery)

Bomb, ranged touch: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 for 4d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 5, 3, 6) + 4 = 20

DC17 for the horned guy to avoid catching fire. Everyone in the 10ft splash also gets to roll DC17 to take 8 splash or 4 splash.

After throwing, Eli'thir takes a step back towards his recently raised allies.

You don't have to do a ton of RP. I'm good with simple sentences describing the outcome/circumstance. :)

Eli'thir sets up camp for the Pathfinders (not sure if we have a room in a cabin or something, I imagine we have something indoor given the location?), ignorant of any goings-on that may be transpiring.

I imagine we'd still set up some sort of watch just in case the taer return. Probably 3 watches, Eli will take first, Quiven will take middle, Omrax will take morning. Unless something else goes on, but I don't think we want to rock the boat if we know our companions are being raised the next morning.

Eli'thir arches an eyebrow at the mention of detecting many evil auras on the man about the camp.

"Fascinating."

He tightens the straps on his alchemical wares, coin purse and backpack as he observes warily from a distance as the men continue their repairs.

"Perhaps we should consider camping outside of the town this night until our friends are taken care of on the morrow, and then return as a single team."

He sighs, letting his breath become clearly visible in the chill air.

"Just in case."

I'm imagining we don't need to tackle the hassle of watches/etc as there's nothing specific that will happen as we rest?

Eli watches as Rysam rides off into the distance, laden with a significant portion of the deceased Pathfinders' wealth, confident that the man could be trusted.

He steps over to Omrax and Quiven to speak in private.

"Rysam mentioned something about traitors. I find the thought curious. We should be vigilant until our meeting tomorrow, and do our best to stay together."

Eli, seeing a brief respite in the taer attacks, checks the fallen for survivors.

Heal: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

"Not all of the men died to taer claws. See here, these small punctures in their skin?"

Eli'thir beckons over Lord Rysam and Omrax and indicates his discovery.

Any arrows or daggers about? Or is it apparent if it is a manufactured weapon versus a natural weapon like fangs?

Eli'thir uses his own wand to tend his latest injuries (down 9hp).

CLW Wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Realizing that Omrax hasn't proposed contacting Osprey, Eli'thir wastes little time suggesting that course of action.

"Lord Rysam. Would you be able to contact Osprey and inform him that despite our losses, we were successful in our mission?"

Eli'thir would also try to free up men to assign in dousing the flames.
