Dresden waves at the figurehead as he stumbles behind Variel "I think she liked me." he says with a beaming smile.

Grabbing Silas' hand with both of his, Dresden shakes it vigorously "Good to meet you sir. Good to meet you... Are you going to the Emerald spindle too? Is there lots of treasure and strange beasts?" he asks, voice slurred, but excited "I can't wait 'till the morning when this boat starts tra... travelating!" he blinks a few times and looks around "I wonder what the sleeping arrangements are."

Dresden rolls over onto his back "Wha.. What happened." his words barely legible "'s floors uneven... someone could get hurt!". Fair enough. we'll just say the Dresden loaned Variel the 13gp and that they are all square now (either way that 13gp goes to the merchant).

Since I chose quite poorly with my initial Alchemist Extract list, I thought I'd try learn a few more if that's OK with you GM June. Dresden finds a local wizard and asks to copy a few things down 5gp for each spell, and an extra 10gp if successful at copying (DC 16) [CRB p219]:

Spellcraft for True Strike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Spellcraft for Cure Light Wounds: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Spellcraft for Shield: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Spellcraft for Ant Haul: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

Woop, 3 out of 4 aint bad :), that's 4 hours of work, 50gp, and he can't attempt to learn True Strike again for a week.

"Then it's settled," Dresden says, still slurring his words badly, as he picks up a glass of Suki from the couple's table and raises it "to the Green thingy of Spires!" and downs it in one. Turning to the couple once again, and seeing the shock on their faces, he says "Oh, sorry. Was.. was that your..." and passes out before he could finish his sentence, knocking over their table.

Nearer the end of the meal, and after quite a few drinks, Dresden starts getting excited. "I say! This green tower thing sounds interesting. Think of all the treasure that could be in a place like that..." He stuffs some sort of cracker into his mouth before continuing excitedly "I know it's a bit of a trek, but Garidan, just think of the strange creatures that might be there! You could fill up that little journal of yours.".

Dresden gets up rather awkwardly, bumping into a serving girl as he goes "Ohh, Pardon me..." he says with a small burp, slurring his words. He walks over to the next table, laying an arm around the man and says "Hello. I couldn't help but overhear your conver... conversinging. Is this expedition going to a tower of some sort?" he starts pointing to his friends around the next table "'Cause we're quite good at those." he claims with a huge smile.

62gp should be enough to stock up on arrows, I might even splash out and get some o' those fancy blunt arrows :)

Dresden tried to express his anger and disgust at the whole situation, but since Tella put it so eloquently, he ended up just standing behind her nodding his head with an occasional "Yeah!" and a pointed finger thrown in for good measure.

"Sounds like a plan Tella." he replies, but with a worried expression he adds "This Tian place... It's not like that last place you suggested is it? I was... well, let's just say I was unable to move far from my quarters for a few days."

Sounds like fun June! The River Kingdoms really aren't that far from Absalom, we can travel by boat and be there in no time :) Don't worry about it too much. Dresden has a taste for adventure now and is looking for a big score, I think he would be willing to travel a little bit.

I haven't done anything before, I'm a total noob as far as Pathfinder is concerned. I did find three more free Pathfinder scenarios set in Absalom: 1, 2, and 3. Although they are all designed for 1st level characters, and I would much prefer to level up a little bit.

I'm pretty much up for anything really, although it seems to make sense to stay in and around Absalom.

"Is anyone else concerned with how good we are at killing things now?" Dresden asks as he steps up behind Garidan for a look at the mess of bodies on the floor. He taps Garidan on the shoulder and playfully says "I'll have to remember never to make you angry... what a hit!"

Turning to Tella, he says "I think we should try to find his body at least, so that he may be properly laid to rest." his characteristic good humour seeming to fade slightly.

"Good gravy!" Dresden exclaims, taken aback by the sheer number of Kobolds. "But then again..." He plucks yet another phial from his bandoleer, gives it a shake and a quick kiss good luck before lobbing it into the centre of the amassed creatures.

Still a little shocked that the arrow hit it's mark, Dresden slowing puts his bow away whilst trying to avoid Variels gaze. "Don't worry about it Tells, it was all quite exciting actually." Although his cheeks have turned a lovely shade of red due to his mishap, Dresden can't stop smiling whilst talking to Tella. "Righto, let's see what these chaps have for us." He says with a clap, rubbing his hands together whilst walking up to the two Kobolds he immolated.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 just looking for valuables, Dresden has no intention of stripping the Kobolds :)

"Alrighty then! Shall we continue to follow these footprints?"

Dresden narrowly avoids falling into the pit with a desperate leap to his left. With a forward roll he plucks a phial from his bandoleer, crouching down with one hand on the floor he yells "Is everyone allright!" as he throws the phial of softly glowing liquid at the feet of the sneaky creatures.

Throwing the bomb right against the back wall in between Red and Yellow. They each suffer 6 points of damage or 3 points on a successful reflex save DC 14.

Dresden follows the others as they follow the trail "What in the world possessed this fellow to go through here?" he asks to no one in particular, his voice quiet.

As basically a ranged character, Dresden will bring up the rear ;)

Dresden had best take it then, he can stick it into one of his new bandoleer pouches. And he doesn't need to roll because cure light wounds is on his formula list.

Ah, I didn't see that, thanks. I was looking at the Inn Per Night section of goods and services, but this'll save some gold. I think Dresden is more of an average kind of guy :)

Dresden can use a wand without a check too. Alchemists can use spell trigger items, but not spell completion... So he can use wands but not scrolls. But now he's encumbered, he may not be any more mobile than Tella.

Dresden has been renting a small suite from a local tavern. But the landlady is starting to complain about the weird smells and noises coming from his room - though he is yet to catch fire to the place, so that's a bonus. (28gp for the week)

I love the idea of having a party name, but I have always been useless with names. Perhaps the party members should try naming the party when good and drunk around a campfire.

Also, did we all agree on buying (150gp each) a wand of cure light wounds? If we did, who's going to carry it? I think it would be well worth the price.

Dresden arrived at the lodge early, eager to start another adventure I do hope this will be as exciting as last time!. He had obviously spent his time since the fortress preparing for another excursion. Two bandoleers crisscross his torso filled with odd shaped jars and flasks, and an exquisitely crafted buckler strapped to his forearm has been polished to an impressive shine.

As the first of his comrades approaches, he greets them excitedly, giving them an awkward hug. The weight of his large backpack almost forgotten as he embraces his friend, the glowing stick strapped vertically to the side of his backpack shining in their eyes.

Woah, woah, I just meant one potion for the party, not one each. I may not be as frugal as you, but I'm not mad with money ;) Although I did forget about UMD, Variel has a +6, which is perfectly workable for a stabilised character. So I'm not too worried about potions anymore.

@GM June: Will there be time for a shopping spree before the next adventure? Dresden has his eye on a nice shiny breastplate :)

That's a pretty neat way of doing it (and thanks BTW for doing all the maths), I'm all for it. The wand should be super handy as well. If either Tella or Dresden are unconscious the other could use it to save the day. Although if they're both down, we might be in trouble. Perhaps a potion might be useful as a backup if things go sour?

Hehe, yeah, level 2 would be grand, Alchemists get a few interesting improvements (not least the ability to throw bombs without as much risk of hurting allies). But I'm pretty sure that that is a quick adventure, so no biggie if we stay level 1.

Sorry 'bout my previous post, I'm terrible at remembering things. Variel you definitely have the potion of cure light wounds. Reading through all the gameplay posts and taking note that GM June said that the centipede did one less damage with it's bite, here's how I see it:

  • you were reduced to -5 by the robed Troglodyte,
  • which was reduced to -6 on your turn,
  • you were then healed 6 points bringing you up to 0.
So you are concious and stable but disabled. So I suggest you have a good swig of that potion if you wish to rejoin the fight ;)
