"I thought becoming Master Drang's protege would mean I'd get to help more," he mutters to himself.

"I'd even go back to the Gloomspires, at this point."

He looks up hopefully as the door opens, but the person who enters neither makes a proclamation of a new mission available, nor hangs up a new notice and he returns his attention to his drink, literally crest fallen.

”Excuse me,” says a swarthy Qadiran with a scimitar at his belt and a smile on his face, ”But I couldn’t help but overhear your predicament. It is sometimes difficult for Pathfinders to find adventures appropriate to their skill levels. However, word is that Aya Allehe is asking for the aid of the Pathfinders in a matter concerning the most infamous city of Bloodcove. She’s asked that interested parties meet her in the Mwangi city of Nantambu.”

He turns to Nigel, “Trade Prince Aaqir al'Hakam has informed me that members of our noble faction, in particular, could find this adventure extremely profitable.”

He looks around at the room at large, and raises his voice slightly, ”I wonder if anyone else would be interested.”

GM Pendrak is recruiting for a run of PFS # 6-09: By Way of Bloodcove (tier 3-7), in the 3-4 subtier. Not looking to start for at least a week. Kahwen and Nigel, as well as anyone else interested, can find a recruitment thread here.

Edit: Got ninja'd, lol. I'd be willing to run one of those others if you prefer, but By Way of Bloodcove was just what jumped out to me from the 3-7 category.

"Hmm," muses Daryus. "My friend Drexel told me that there was a cute, good-natured fox running around the Lodge these days. How nice. I wonder how Drexel is doing in Numeria..."

Daryus grunts as he is struck, and shifts to the side. He carefully casts a spell.

Defensive Casting shocking grasp using Spellstrike and Spell Combat

Concentration check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

Unfortunately he is unable to concentrate with everything going on, and fails to cast his spell. Nonetheless, he swings his sword at the elemental.

Daryus casts shield and activates his arcane pool to grant his weapon a +2 enhancement bonus for 1 minute, and then 5 ft. steps. forward.

Daryus quickly casts a protective spells, enhances his blade with magical energy.

Daryus shifts to the side, to get into a flanking position with Davorin. He chants a few words to magically enhance his accuracy, and swings his scimitar at the ogre mage.

Daryus 5 ft. steps, and then uses a swift action to use Arcane Accuracy for a +4 to hit for all attacks until the end of his turn. He is going to use Spellstrike and Spell Combat. After attacking he will defensive cast shocking grasp again and channel it again with Spellstrike.

The AC 23 was from when I cast shield, as I often do at the start of combat, but I didn't do that here. Actually, if that Oni has as high a Dex as you say, he probably should get a second attack of opportunity on me, when I cast shocking grasp. I was foolish enough to expect he didn't have Combat Reflexes.

Daryus draws his sword and move around his enemy casually, with little apparent concern for whether or not it swings at him.

Once in position behind the oni, he initiates some arcane rituals, and afterwards his sword appears sharper and crackles with electricity.

Daryus moves, probably provoking, drawing his scimitar, then casts shocking grasp and activates his arcane pool to gain +1 keen.

Daryus saunters forward dramatically, in an almost dance-like progression, and as he nears the opposing rogue, he acrobatically tries to tumble past.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

He then takes up a defensive stance, daring the foes to approach, waving his sword about.

I think I'll need to move 5 ft. using Acrobatics to get to where I want without provoking. Daryus will then take up a total defense. I believe his current AC is 14 without armor, or 18 with the total defense. I didn't read closely enough, the Cruel Bandit is practically the worst one I could have picked.

First off, sorry, I had some real life things come up the last couple of days that have made my posting here and elsewhere scarce.

Let me make sure I'm correct here, the Cruel Bandit can't cast spells?

If that is the case, and the Chou is taken, I'd prefer the Wizened Crone I guess. If I'm stuck as the bandit, so be it.

If I can use spells, I'll prepare the following:

1st- color spray (x4), shield
2nd- blur, invisibility, mirror image

Daryus leaps to his feat, drawing his blade as he does so, and chants some arcane incantations.

Dreggar's questions is one I had as well. Either way, I'm fairly certain Daryus has one more frigid touch, so he'll cast that. Also activates his arcane pool (same bonuses as usual).

Edit: If it is the case that using my leftover spells now will prevent me from preparing those slots the next day, I will hold off on frigid touch, and move instead. I'll still use the arcane pool, and assume I'm using the first point of the day.

Fort save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Daryus casts another of his spells, and a shimmering energy field surrounds him.

Daryus will go ahead and cast shield again as Davorin is working the pump. It will last 5 minutes. Also, since heI cast frigid touch into my sword in the last combat, I'm going to just say he expended the charge by touching my sword to the side of the trapdoor before climbing down. Don't want to accidentally freeze anybody. I was going to ask if he would have been able to climb down with one hand or something, and continue to hold the charge, but I guess that seems a little unlikely.

Ogre mage...I think I've read about such a creature...

Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Spell Resistance, Immunities, Resistances (if applicable, in that order)

In the brief interlude, Daryus puts away his wand, and then casts another spell, and a number of illusory doubles of himself appear.

Mirror Images: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

“Come and get us!” he shouts up towards where the ogre-mage was last seen, and he moves over near where the oni was last seem, casting another spell, and his blade becomes rimed with frost.

Daryus puts away his wand as a move action, and casts mirror image as a standard in the interim. He then casts frigid touch, channeling it into his sword using Spellstrike, and he (or they, as it seems to everyone watching), moves over closer to where the monster was last seen.

In the interim Daryus moves over next to Davorin and pulls out one of his wands. As the tengu appears, the magus begins to focus the wand's power, and Davorin begins to double in size.

Spending interim round to move and pull out wand. Spending full-round action on current round to cast enlarge person from the wand on Davorin. If possible Daryus will move to where I put him on the map, sort of squeezed against the coliseum walls, but if not he will be to the south of where I put him on the map (which might cause him to be forced onto the trapdoor when Davorin enlarges at the start of my next turn, or else we'll be squeezing).

Daryus casts shocking grasp, channeling it into his sword using Spellstrike, moves over next to Dreggar, uses Arcane Accuracy as a swift action, and then attacks. +2 Keen Scimitar Attack (including arcane pool) from flanking: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 2 = 261d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

16 is a critical threat, rolling to confirm, and for extra damage if necessary. This is on the mook that Dreggar has been attacking.

Critical confirmation: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 8 + 2 = 201d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Adding on to Davorin's query: what sort of action is it to grab a ruby? and is it a free action to make the Perception check to spot one?

Daryus maintains his calm, despite the chaos surrounding he and his allies. He waves his arms in a deliberate manner, speaks a few arcane syllables, and anyone watching can briefly see a shimmer of translucent energy before the shield of force surrounding him becomes invisible. The magus then makes his move, drawing his scimitar as he does, and gets himself into a flanking position with his new dwarven comrade Dreggar. Finally, he draws upon his reservoir of mystical arcane energy and touches his blade, and it seems even more finely honed and sharper than before as arcane energy briefly crackles down the scimitar.

Standard action to cast shield (giving me AC 23), move action to move NW, W, SW to get into a flank with Dreggar (drawing scimitar as part of the move action), and swift action to activate my arcane pool, giving my scimitar an additional +1 enhancement bonus as well as the keen weapon property. I assume I don't provoke, since the Aspis dudes haven't acted in combat yet, but if I do, then so be it.

Daryus makes his way through the crowd and takes a seat next to Dreggar.

"Aspis Consortium...Red Mantis...be on your guard, my friends."

He stares down the foreigner in the demon helm with interest and admiration, wondering what his story might be. He then looks around for a barmaid to wave down for a drink, hoping they have something other than cheap ale.

A swarthy Keleshite, dressed in brightly colored and loose-fitting clothing, saunters into view from the back of the room, a scimitar hanging from his side and a spellbook in his hand. He has long black hair, and dark, piercing eyes.

"Well met, comrades. I am Daryus-al Kabib. I look forward to working with you. May Sarenrae bless our undertaking."

He gives a sideways smile to his fellow Pathfinders, and sits down on a chair, throwing his feet up onto the table.

Day job (or as I always say, night job): Perform (dance) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

I have a boon that gives an extra +1 to day job roles that I applied to Daryus.

As far as tactics, Daryus doesn't do anything too crazy. He likes to get into melee and use shocking grasp when he needs to. He has a wand of enlarge person that he tends to use on the most powerful ally instead of himself, unless he happens to be the highest strength character. If anyone would benefit from invisibility or if the adventure is more stealth geared, I could prepare one or two of those instead of frigid touch.
