"Happy ta help ya out!" Damien shows his signature toothy grin. "I think I seen 'nuf undead ta last me another life time. 'N I'm all outta snacks too. Say, Ruby, do ya think they'll have fresh mutton at this finest Inn in Kayor Mega?" He asks his pet. "Only one way ta find out."

"Pleasure adventurin' with ya, guys! Hey Lady Mae, bring the bufo, we got a feast ta indulge in!"

And so the happy, hungry halfling and his trustworthy wolf make for the inn, ordering the largest meal he might find.

Was that a dragon? Nope, just Damien's stomach grumbling. "All this talk bout life 'n death 'n stuff... When do we get to eat?"

"Why did we come into yer home? Dunno. Got kinda hungry 'n decided ta venture in. Didn't find much food though, kinda wanna refund." Damien shrugs, idly chewing on a piece of day old bread.

"Ruby here kin get us across too!" Damien prepares to give Ruby the command for a running leap across the pit.

Ruby, Acrobatics to jump: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

Damien pants as he throws his legs off Ruby and gets to his feet. "Wut a jerk. Seems mah hammmer wasn't werkin' very well this time. I'd love ta flatten him like a bug, but I guess it's not my choice ta make if he should die or not. Lemme bind him, and then maybe we kin give 'em a hit of that magic stick?"

Drawing rope from his pack, Damien gets to work wrapping the alchemist's wrists together.

Damien tries his hammer again. "This thing's gotta work sometime!"

"Mister Marrow eh? Like bone marrow? Hey guys, I get it!" Proud of himself, Damien twirls his lance. "I think I'm gunna come right for ya, necromancer!" The lance pointed towards the alchemist's head, Damien charges full speed through the chamber.

Ruby bounds into the room. "Sorry I'm late! Yeowch, Ooriel. That's quite the wound ya got there. Did this jerk cause ya trouble?! How dare he!"

Damien hefts his earthbreaker up and around, attempting to smash the zombie.

"Stay put, gurl, we'll get 'em soon!" The halfling beckons for the foes to approach with his lance.

"Hey! Leave 'er alone ya bag o' bones!" Damien scowls, watching Ruby take a hit. He exchanges his lance for his earthbreaker and attempts to smash some skulls!

"Do ya see that, gurl?" Damien places his hands tightly on his wolf's neck. "More skeletons! You know what ta do!" The wolf shoots through the corridor like an arrow from Erastil's bow.

"Ya'd think they'd put sumthin' cool in these big empty rooms 'n all... But I guess it really is just an empty, curtained room. Let's keep goin'?" Damien moves towards the next door.

"Read yer books, they said. Learn yer history, they said." Damien pretends his lance is paddle and pushes Ruby slowly across the room.

"Yeah! Open up or I'll let out mah own kind of chime of openin'!" Damien leans his butt to one side.

"I know what that look means! Gimme some of that tasty juice 'n I'll smash away!" Damien rushes the lock and wallops the lock again and again.

"Well, let's try that again!" Damien moves up and exchanges his lance for his earthbreaker before attempting to whack-a-zombie.

"Anotha undead jerk! 'N this one tries ta rival my gasses? Not a chance!" Damien slaps Ruby on the rump, and the wolf takes off in a blur of grey and white.

Damien stretches out with a yawn fit for a giant and all-too-casually passes gas. "Much better! I'm ready ta smash more undead! Let's do this!" The halfling remounts Ruby and the wolfrider follows Annilda and Lucina to the next door.

"Spellcastin'? Dunno how ta do it. Wave yer arms a bit and say some other werds and weird s%#+ happens." Damien dismounts Ruby. The wolf curls up in a corner, and the halfling leans back against her as his pillow. "Who needs a bed roll when ya got the world's most comfy furred pillow as yer best pal?"

"Who exactly is this woman beast? Sumone I can smash, by the sound of it." Damiens rubs his hand on the end of his earthbreaker, dusting off the tengu feathers.

"Yeah! The bad cop!" Damien holds his earthbreaker threateningly over the tengu's head, s**#-eating grin on his face and all.

"Outta my way!" Damien calls, pushing Ruby to move past Uriel and into the corner of the room. "What are ya attackin' us for, chicken? I was feelin' more like beef today, but if yer gonna try ta hurt us, I guess I can make an exception."

"Outta my way, unless that holy water of yers can dissolve doors," Damien tilts his head down at Uriel's pants. "C'mon Ruby, charge at the blasted thing!"

"Well would ya look at that!" Damien looks ahead at the fleeing cockroaches. "I think we got ourselves a bit of a bug whisperer here. Pretty cool!"

Damien also waits to see how the roaches react to Lady Mae, but draws a vial of alchemist's fire.

Damien shrugs, and pokes the skeleton with the tip of his lance.

Ruby sniffs the slug ooze curiously as Damien pushes her ahead. "It's like a trail of bread crumbs! Wonder if a bad guy could use it ta track us."

"Where's this super secret door anyway? Bet that little jerk was lyin'..."

Damien throws a single gold piece at the creature. "Hows THAT fer a trinket?"

"SMASHED IT!" Damien corrects. Loudly of course.

"Dunno 'bout you guys, but negotiatin' with a snake is kinda weird. C'mon snake, tell us what else is in this place if ya know it so well, or I'll skewer ya and serve snake steak for dinner." Damien jabs his lance into the air threateningly.

"So whattaya lookin' for then, Yericksan? I'm all outta snacks, sorry."

"Well okay, if I can't see it, I can't smash it anyway..." Damien lowers his hammer. Though Ruby can still smell the creature from where she is, it's not enough for the halfling to wander into darkness.

"Um, guys? Where did he go?" Damien scratches his head, moving towards the edge of the darkness.

"Annilduh, you okay? Let me try ta smash this thing again." Damien drops the lance, pulls out the earthbreaker and attempts to whack-a-mole the enemy.

"Get back here, you lil' bastard!" Damien calls after the strange creature. Ruby pounces ahead in a blur of silvery white fur.

The halfling dismounts Ruby and charges at the door, throwing his body weight, however insignificant, at it.

"Lady Mae, if we tasted like chick'n, I'm afraid I'd eat myself!" Damien chuckles. But then he looks at the zombie head, and notices it's at the perfect distance. "Ruby, looks like we're in luck! Time for another charge! Go get it!"

A smile grows on Damien's face as the creature moves into a more convenient location. "I wuz hopin' he'd go there. Awright, Ruby, you know what to do!" A quick slap on the rump of the wolf, and she's off, tearing through the hall in a blur, Damien's lance directed ahead.
