Could you mark me inactive please?
- INACTIVE -
Thanks y'all.
I'm going to go ahead and bow out now. Please mark me inactive.
- INACTIVE -
I think it's time for me to bow out of this game. I can stay until you find a replacement so I don't bring things to a halt.

"I dunno', but I think that foul undead there had somethin' to do with it!" He shouts and runs forward to strike at it with his shield spike
+2 darkwood spiked shield, attack, charge: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 13 + 2 = 16
magic, piercing: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
- INACTIVE -
Thanks everyone! Baby is perfect.
- INACTIVE -
will save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 +5 more if it is a spell or spell like ability
- INACTIVE -
My wife is in labor right now. I probably won't post for the next week. Please bot me as necessary.
- INACTIVE -
Sorry for not posting today. I had a work-over-the-weekend project that exploded into an all nighter. Expect a post from me tomorrow or Wednesday and bot me until then

initiative, dalgrym: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
- INACTIVE -
Dalgrym nods in agreement, frowning.
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
- INACTIVE -
Dalgrym falls in line in his usual marching position towards the front
- INACTIVE -
further exploration works for me
- INACTIVE -
Yes, maybe so. My current short sword is just +1 cold iron, I think. Could be handy to have something I could throw, also.
- INACTIVE -
I'll take the ring, thanks Roylenna.
Profile updated.
- INACTIVE -
so we just wait here for four days. No big deal. What could possibly go wrong?
- INACTIVE -
Xalthanel's suggestion sounds fine to me. I appreciate Roylenna's offer if it is open, but I would like to point out that I don't *need* more AC, so she should only do it if it is what she feels is best for the party.
Dalgrym's primary weapon is actually his shield, so any "off-hand" weapon he uses needs to be a light weapon (like his short sword). Otherwise he would gladly take the mace; it seems like a cool weapon. Bless 3/day is nothing to sneeze at.
- INACTIVE -
Dalgrym pitches in to the cleaning of the sphere, pulling a rag out of his pocket to wipe grime away.
- INACTIVE -
I am fine with a rolloff. I think there's value in the front line tank being harder to hit, but obviously I'm biased here
- INACTIVE -
It seems we may have just acquired our blessing.
I am interested in the ring for Dalgrym but I don't want to be greedy. With that said I don't think he has taken any other loot so far.

Happy to let them take everyone and leave, of course they killed everyone and will just come back.
I take it that priests of Set are not the temple priesthood we are looking for?
- INACTIVE -
oh, so it is dead?
Are we supposed to track our own XP? All the other games I play or GM the GM just tells us when to level up. I have not been tracking so I would need to go back through the game history to try to figure it out
- INACTIVE -
How close are we to leveling up, by the way?
- INACTIVE -
so one of its defenses is a miss chance? Dalgrym can see in the dark
Dalgrym bides his time waiting for the thing to come into the hall. In the meantime he swings at it with his sword and shield
+1 cold iron short sword, attack, studied target, twf, barrow warden: 1d20 + 12 + 2 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 12 + 2 - 2 + 1 = 14
cold iron, magic, slashing: 1d6 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 10
+2 darkwood spiked shield, attack, studied target, barrow warden: 1d20 + 13 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 13 + 2 + 1 = 31
magic, piercing: 1d6 + 7 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 2 + 1 = 16
+2 darkwood spiked shield, attack, studied target, barrow warden, iterative: 1d20 + 13 + 2 + 1 - 5 ⇒ (3) + 13 + 2 + 1 - 5 = 14
magic, piercing: 1d6 + 7 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 2 + 1 = 16
- INACTIVE -
sorry for the delay. Last couple days were packed
Dalgrym steps aside, studying the kamarupa's movements, then slams his shield into its face.
5' step, move action to study target, standard to attack
+2 darkwood spiked shield, attack, studied target, barrow warden: 1d20 + 13 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 13 + 2 + 1 = 29
magic, piercing: 1d6 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 2 = 11
AC is 24 vs undead

initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

does darkvision still work?
- INACTIVE -
if Dalgrym hasn't had a chance for a 4 minute rest since the last fight he'll do that now
are there any doors or exits
"Ye recognize that altar?" Dalgrym asks
- INACTIVE -
Dalgrym seems a little uneasy about leaving the maliciousness on this floor in their line of retreat, but he nods reluctantly and follows the others down
- INACTIVE -
"Why'd it let ye go, eh? Shall we try t' walk through again?"
- INACTIVE -
Dalgrym shakes his head.
not sure how that came about :face palm:
- INACTIVE -
got to admit I'm pretty stumped. There's got to be some kind of puzzle at play here
- INACTIVE -
my bad. This is what happens when you don't keep your Paizo profile to to date. It is such a pain to edit from mobile. I changed that to a short sword quite a while ago, as you may recall. I'll try to update it soon
- INACTIVE -
looks like we are making a plan outside the room. Don't think Dalgrym has any bright ideas here.
Also note that Dalgrym's main weapon is his Shield, and his off hand weapon is a short sword. Does his sheet still list a long sword somewhere? Because that would be an error

My grandfather passed away this morning. I am going to travel and spend the next week with my family. I will have a lot of time on my hands so might still post here and there, but I won't be •trying• to keep up. Don't wait around for me and bot me as necessary.
Dalgrym has a stamina pool. Use it liberally to help him hit on near-misses. Just make sure you give him a few minutes to rest and recover after doing so.
- INACTIVE -
It never rains but it pours... My grandfather fell off a tricycle today and hit his head. He is in the hospital, possibly on his death bed. Most of the things keeping me from pbp have been positive life things but this one really sucks.
- INACTIVE -
week from hell coming up for me; big work deadline + moving all at the same time. Please bot me as necessary this week.
it feels weird to have Dalgrym so far back in the marching order, but I think I see the rationale, assuming the first two are more scouty types
- INACTIVE -
welcome, Amadana and Xathanael!
I am underwater with work, a move, etc. but I don't think we should wait for me. I just may need some botting now and then
The Cleric is pretty good in melee.
We are good on Frontline types and we have a Divine and Arcane caster. What we're really missing is a utility character.
As a player I liked having a Bard/Skald type for the buffs (we are replacing a dead Bard). We don't have much range, but you kinda have to go all in (improved precise shot right away) or the house rules are just too penalizing.
- INACTIVE -
Dalgrym frowns at the room, then glances at Grenz's body and swears. "That's all well and good, but if something is chasing us I don't like the idea of being stuck between a rock and a hard place."
- INACTIVE -
Dalgrym likewise ignores the wall, snarling at it as he runs past it to join the others.
"Should we turn that thing into mincemeat? I don't like it blocking our exit..."
- INACTIVE -
Tolbold and Roylenna both posted above me
- INACTIVE -
Dalgrym moves ahead of Wulfgar 40' to the 5-1 icon on the map, please
I misread several posts pretty badly. I thought Wulfgar had actually picked Grenz up already. Therefore I thought that the AoO on Wulfgar was what ate Grenz's body.
My bad all around
- INACTIVE -
Oh. Why did the GM say that was an attack of opportunity then?
Alright, nice playing with you Grenz
- INACTIVE -
So what are you going to roll up next, Grenz? Another Bard? Some kind of Skald?
Not sure what we are waiting on in gameplay. Dalgrym is after the construct and it hasn't acted yet, yes?
Thanks for the map link, Wulfgar

130 points of damage is a lot. Were we supposed to level up a couple times during level 4 or something?
- INACTIVE -
Roll20 is awesome for realtime games, or even games where everyone posts from desktop. For mobile players it is much less advantageous. I do appreciate that you pay for the roll20 membership that makes the site technically usable from mobile. However, on nights like tonight when I don't have the time for the roll20 logon dance before I go to bed I dearly wish we were on slides so I could see the map. I couldn't tell from the description if this flesh construct thing is a necessary obstacle or if there's another path we can take.
As for Google slides being the "flavor of the month" I have been playing in games that use it almost exclusively for a couple years now at least; probably closer to three, though I'd have to go digging to see when I first started using it... In my slides history, the oldest modified slides doc for a game is marked 2015, so the swing to use it everywhere was probably sometime after that.

initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
- INACTIVE -
Looking at the map is the most difficult process of playing in this game. The 100+ other pbp games I have played or currently play in use Google slides, which takes me about 10 seconds to pull up on my phone. Roll20 takes me a few minutes to sign in, go to the campaign, and mess with their clumsy mobile UI to find where we are. If we could move to slides at some point that would be great.
I do have one other GM that uses roll20, but he always posts a screenshot of the map at the beginning of the round
- INACTIVE -
My notifications were broken and I missed the last 67 gameplay posts somehow...
I am still here. Will try to catch up this weekend.
As for the pace of the game, it is not run in a way that is conducive to fast play. I would probably start by implementing a standard operating procedure for moving through the dungeon. Otherwise dungeon crawls like this tend to move slowly.
For combat, it often seems like we are doing initiative order one at a time instead of block initiative?
An entire level of fighting gnolls? I am fine with fast forwarding through that
