Cael has been outside preparing the horses that we do have. When the rest of the party finally comes outside he will speak I still think going to that prison is suicide but you are the closest I have to friends here. I will protect you.

I'm not saying attack the army all at once. That would be a fools errand. No, we use guerilla tactics and take their scouts by surprise. Then we can learn what exactly they want up here. After all why would a race who thrives in darkness want to come to visit where the sun shines brightly. We need to learn their motivations for the insurgency that way we can at least gain an upper hand. I'm asking you who call yourselves warriors to stand up and do your jobs and protect these people by stopping a threat. Not by going into a city you might as well go into your tombs all dressed up. Cael slams down the mug of his second drink and walks outside. Stops by the horses and begins taking proper care of the animals. If observed farther he will be sharpening his sword.

Has no one considered moving for a counter strike if not a scouting mission to see where they are. I would much rather be proactive in this matter than simply sitting and waiting for them to attack. Cael comes from the edge of the forest where he had made camp, mainly to watch over this group that welcomes fights. He walks up to the new, lays a slab of meat of a hand on his back,and positions himself between the strange man and the strange group he has come to call companions.

His Earth Breaker at his side he looks down at the new arrival, Nice trick, we've all done it before, now who you be? He takes a pause and mouths to himself, who you be, then looks over at Lance and says Gods, now I'm talking like you! He walks off and says I am going hunting, Callum, you coming or staying?

Cael finally comes back from the mill carrying the body of the attacker and laying it down outside of view of the gathered townsfolk. He then lumbers into the horde of people and sees the young elven girl.

My lady, it seems that I was left out of all the rush. My name is Cael. I am one of the princes of the Gael's. Did I hear right and that someone as young as yourself are taking the quest to protect these lands from the Bean Sidhe?

And let us not forget our young friend, he too wishes to save the world as he gestures to his side to someone who would be about a head taller than a full grown halfling. As for food, I can hunt and teach those who cannot. We will be fine for food and shelter. Though horses would be nice.

@Germon: That sword looks nice on you.

When all these slight people gathering around his massive form, increasingly shrinking his bubble. Cael roars, EVERYBODY MOVE! and wades away from the crowds.

sorry my post will be rather short for a couple weeks. my computer stopped working so this is all annoyingly done from my iPhone and I will not get a replacement till after the 10th of September. Also, I will be on vacation starting the 23rd of August. I will post but it will be sparse

Cael bursts into the bar still seemingly distracted and begins to talk up everyone once again. When he pulls out a stool he pulls an additional one out as well. He will spread good cheer (buy a couple rounds for the bar) and loosen peoples tongues. Once everyone's started to look in rather good cheer. He will start asking about the sword. When hit upon buy a bar wench, he will politely decline and palming a peice of cloth.

I do not find that learning the language of elves to improve my character at all, nor has it defamed it, just try and respect all those with you and speak so they can understand.[b]He stands to tower over the individual, [b]Besides I wasn't talking to you I was talking to Callum.

He takes a moment to calm the rage building inside of him. Then retorts quite calmly, There was no failure at the caves, the boy lives on. Better to act than stand like a whelp getting his first woman. You stood doing nothing as a brother in battle was about to get killed, I acted to save our brother. Yes, he may have made a deal but that leader could have easily changed his mind when you went to collect money from a town who couldn't afford it anyways, even if he stuck to the deal whats to say they wouldnt do it again. That ransom would have destroyed the town. So I did what you didn't have the balls to do and made a choice. Now the mischevious child is happy, he gets to be part of a tale that any bard would be envious to write and tell.

When Lance turns back to Cael he smirks and says My take on the findings would be an even share on the equipment however if you keep talking to me like you cabin boy I'm likely to take your share as well. He pauses a moment at the barrage of questions. Uh what. slow down. I'm not some brothel mate your trying to get in bed. talk to me plainly. Wait...did you say beer. That is a fantastic idea!

I am confused... as far as I know I never gave any goods or gear to Cael. Is he refering to something particular here regarding specific members of the party?

Cael will come back into the small town with everyone gear in tow. If anyone is particularly observan he will be looking down to his right side a lot towards nothing and seems to be learning a local Childs limerick.

Cael makes repeated trips back and forth to the mine on one of the trips he sits down only to find that the water skin placed on his hip had been moved to the other side, and it empty. He looks around at who could have done this and most certainly finds nothing. So he asks a favor to his ancestors and the waterskin and it becomes full again. He staves off the sweat and continues his work.

Caels eyes grows astonished but then it fades, if questioned he says he merely saw something from his past. Since no one else has claimed it Cael will have grabbed the child and protected him as best he can. When landing in the big cavern Cael will kneel down as to be only a little taller than the lad and will say simply Boy, do you know how to handle yourselfas he offers his dagger to him. He then unsheathes his family blade and states, Stick close to me and i'll make sure we get out of this alive!

Since my lighted coin has become multiples I will fling them ahead of us with mage hand to further light the way

Cael will also look at the rock face they descended so rapidly from, Is it an easy climb back up?

As you press into the water it goes up to near your shoulders. The tunnel progresses and all of a sudden the ceiling dips into the water and if you wish to proceed you will have to swim. You cannot tell how far you will have to swim in order to get to the next air pocket.

I said and made a intimidatcheck to get them to run.

Upon Lance's speech to Darnail and subsequent exit Cael will add Hmph, So Sir Elf what did he say? Are we no longer seeking out the children? Cael says as he starts doffing his armor. He then looks at his armor and you see his face almost sadden as he lays his sword with the rest of the stuff and withdraws a dagger.

If nothing else is said, upon removal of the hides on his chest the nasty gash on his chest quite visible and still bleeding. He grips his dagger in his and plunges into the river.

Cael will hoist Germon up much like a wolf will do with a cub and say stand up your not hurt that bad. And give him a hearty slap on the back it was good what you did but next time it might help having a bigger weapon and points to the hobgoblins greatsword.

now what do we do with them? pointing at the rest of the hobgoblins. And then you see the idea hit him. He picks up the leaders head and throws it in their direction.

He goes to retrieve is Earthbreaker and collapses from exhaustion. Kneeling down for a good minute before standing again. Still winded.

I play two play by post games. My other game is no where near this slow-paced. With the five players (GM makes six) we've posted over 1,200 posts in three weeks. I keep going back to the boards and have to keep waiting. I was going to ask if we could post more, actually, but I feel that is overwhelming people at this point in this game. But then we need to re-visit those parameters and decide what kind of game it will be. My vote is that it is going way too slow, and we should have some speed. Finally, I think a lot of things can be resolved better if people read everything. For example; when Germon challenged the goblin chief to a duel of single combat and set terms in which the winner would earn either the boy's freedom or the cost of gold... I was NOT in favor of it, but he did it, so we should have rolled with it. We're all standing there talking to the Hobgoblin chief about ransoming our comrade, and suddenly it's *bam* "Enough talk", which I have to admit reminds me of Conan, in a good way, but at the same I wondered if it was a result of character choice, or a simple mistake that came from not reading over all the details, such as the fact that we were trying to work with Germon's wishes while at the same time avoiding getting the kid's throat cut; neither of which happened.

For now, we're in combat. We should all have one post a day, at least, while in combat. If someone can't post, can we please just NPC him that day to expedite things? GM, you have our character sheets, our strengths,...

I did read the post and stick by my decisions for Cael if you have a question about it RP it out. Just remember their are distinct difference between Lawful alignments and Chaotic ones.

I think one of the things I will do from now on to ease things like this through is we are going to do party initiative. Basically I am going to roll initiative for everyone in both groups and take the average of the party and everyone will go at once. Also I am always open to suggestions for how to run things smoother on my end but I can't really do much when a hulking man of a barbarian charges in to attack even if it was a pretty awesome sight lol.

I think the best would be to slow down and allow everyone a chance to react especially on the weekends. I was overwhelmed by the number of posts and stated my actions in order they happened. I see an ally on the ground I'm going to rage to save his life whether it be Germon, Elf, Sneakie, Knives, or Talkie. Also I say go ahead and roll our initiative and perceptions for us that way would cut down on extra posts and we can post reactions instead of just waiting for knowledge of what we see. Basically I am saying it's okay with me if you roll reactiony things.

Next round:
Cael's eyes grow with anger especially after the talkie one points the boomstick near his head. The boys death on his hands has caused him to sustain his rage. I don't mind blood on my hands but the next one is yours! Cael aims to maneuver so he is at least flanking with the dog by taking a step over and lurching the greatsword up at an angle to catch the big hobgoblin as he raises his sword.

It wasn't an intent to shed a huge amount of light sailor. It was meant to give me an idea of depth to know we could also safely get down. I was looking out for your safety as you always seem to be blindly leading us into the bowels of the earth. Cael says abruptly as he hears the sailor again, this time feeling a we bit insulted. You want to walk down with the glowing sword. Fine I vote you to be the fodder then. So Lance is on point!
