My experience with Pathfinder Goblins has been interesting. I have had the luck of starting RotRL twice now with two very different groups. Both times someone in the party "adopted" a Goblin and worked to "uplift" them so to speak. I mean really worked.
In one timeline the Birdcrunchers are now a "good" tribe that works with Sandpoint and helps protect the region.
In the other, our group's CE Half-Orc Brawler adopted the last goblin child in Thistletop as his own son. He is every bit the monster Pathfinder makes him out to be he but directed towards saving Sandpoint and the region.
Maybe it is our group and the willingness to allow "Anti-heroes" be dark as a group that allows me to see the goblin as a viable player class. It feels natural to us.
My group sticks to pretty normal stuff. I have one player who has reached out to a few non-core classes (Life Oracle, Ninja and Inquisitor). We try a few arch-types here and there. But mostly the fighter is a fighter, the cleric is a cleric, the wizard is a specialist.
No one uses metamagic.
Guns are allowed, no one uses them.
Outlflank (Teamwork) is a pretty standard feat.
Treasure is missed constantly. Heck it is donated and given back half the time. A lot of times it is spent on "life" stuff. One character owns a horse ranch, another a printing press, another a pineapple farm in Sargava.
Some have elaborate stories for their characters, most don't. Some stick to the same religion between characters. Same races. Almost everyone plays the same alignment from game to game. We wright different ones down, but in play it is the same as all our other characters.
We die to the same monsters every game (%*$# YOU WATER GHOULS!)
We work great together, have OK teamwork, but sorely lack advanced tactics. A hard GM would likely eat us alive.
We get kicked pretty hard in printed modules and APs. Someone dies about a quarter of the time. They get raised. We move on.
Thank you The Red Mage for looking over the IB6. For my players and myself we are really hoping this system works for us. It wasn't meant to remove gear or save wealth, just standardize certain treasure so a PC doesn't feel like a they are not equipped for a challenge.
It sounds like you have a fix that works for you group and you guys are good with it.
ok quick and dirty, not playtested, use at your own risk.
Kryptonian
Use Monk
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Kryptonians are proficient with the simple weapons. However, they deal unarmed damage to the object they are using due to their tremendous strength.
Kryptonians are not proficient with any armor or shields.
When wearing armor or using a shield, a Kryptonians loses his AC bonus, as well as his fast movement and flurry of blows abilities.
Weakness Viridium: Kryptonians become deathly sick in the presence (10’) of Viridium. They become nauseated and loose access to their Kr pool which cuts them off from their abilities. Every round of exposure drains 1 Kr point from the Kr pool. Once depleted the drain begins affecting Constitution until the Kryptonians death.
Weakness Sunlight dependency: Kryptonians must make endurance checks for every 24 hours without exposure to a yellow sun. Failure prevents them from regaining Kr pool points until they spend at least 5 minutes basking in the sun to replenish their power. Magical light never replaces the need for sunlight.
Change AC Bonus to work off of Con
Change Still Mind (Ex) to DR 5/Magic
Ki Pool(Su) to Kryptonian Pool (Ex) - The number of points in the pool is equal to 1/2 his Kryptonian level + his Con modifier. As long as he has at least 1 point in his Kr pool, he can make a Kr strike. At 4th level, Kr strike allows his unarmed attacks to ignore 1 point of hardness per level, ½ this bonus on strength checks to break object and Resist Fire, Electricity, Cold, and Acid 1/level. A Kryptonian gains a bonus on perception checks ½ his level. At 7th level, is PC is treated as large where it will benefit him. The Kryptonian gains a +8 bonus to Strength, a +4 bonus to Constitution, and a +2 bonus to its natural armor. It gains a +1 bonus to its CMB and CMD. He does not gain reach. At 12th level, he gains Penetrating Strike. At 16th level, he gains Greater Penetrating Strike.
By spending 1 point from his Kr pool, a Kryptonian can make one additional attack at his highest attack bonus when making a flurry of blows attack. In addition, he can spend 1 point to increase his speed by 20 feet for 1 round. Finally, a Kryptonian can spend 1 point from his Kr pool to give himself a +4 dodge bonus to AC for 1 round. Each of these powers is activated as a swift action. A Kryptonian gains additional powers that consume points from his Kr pool as he gains levels.
The Kr pool is replenished each morning after 8 hours of rest or meditation; these hours do not need to be consecutive.
Replace Purity of Body (Ex) with Immune (Ex): At 5th level, a Kryptonian gains immunity to all diseases and poisons, except supernatural and magical diseases and poisons.
Replace Wholeness of Body (Su) with Drink the Sun (Ex): At 7th level or higher, a Kryptonian can heal his own wounds as a standard action. He can heal a number of hit points of damage equal to his Kryptonian level by using 2 points from his Kr pool.
Replace Diamond Body (Su) with DR 10/magic
Replace Abundant Step (Su) with Kryptonian Powers
Flight (Ex): At 12th level or higher, a Kryptonian can fly as if using the spell Fly. Using this ability is a move action that consumes 2 points from his Kr pool. His caster level for this effect is equal to his Kryptonian level.
Heat Vision (Ex): At 12th level or higher, a Kryptonian can use Searing Light as if casting the spell. Using this ability is a standard action that consumes 2 points from his Kr pool. His caster level for this effect is equal to his Kryptonian level.
Throw Bolder (Ex): At 12th level or higher, a Kryptonian can throw a heavy object at an opponent inflicting 3d6+Str with a range increment 10’xStrength Modifier as a ranged attack. Using this ability is a standard action that consumes 2 points from his Kr pool.
Replace Diamond Soul (Ex) with Power House (Ex): At 13th level, as long as a Kryptonian has at least 1 Kr point he is treated as a huge creature where it would benefit him. The Kryptonian gains a +16 bonus to Strength, a +8 bonus to Constitution, and a +5 bonus to its natural armor. It gains a +2 bonus to its CMB and CMD. He does not gain reach. These bonuses and penalties replace, and do not stack with, those gained at 7th level and being treated as large.
Replace Quivering Palm (Su) with Greater Kryptonian Power (Ex):
At 15th level or higher, a Kryptonian can use Overland Flight as if casting the spell. Using this ability is a move action that consumes 3 points from his Kr pool. His caster level for this effect is equal to his Kryptonian level.
At 15th level or higher, a Kryptonian can use Cone of Cold as if casting the spell. The reflex save DC is 10 + ½ Kryptonian level + the Kryptonian’s Con modifier). Using this ability is a standard action that consumes 3 points from his Kr pool. His caster level for this effect is equal to his Kryptonian level.
Replace Timeless Body (Ex) with Almost Immortal (Ex): At 17th level, a Kryptonian no longer takes penalties to his ability scores for aging, but can be magically aged. Any such penalties that he has already taken, however, remain in place. Age bonuses still accrue but the Kryptonian cannot die of old age. He effectually stops ageing. If magically aged beyond maximum age, he will die.
Replace Tongue of the Sun and Moon (Ex) with Telepathy (Ex): A Kryptonian of 17th level or higher can speak with any living creature with a language within 100’.
Replace Empty Body (Su) with Turn Back Time: At 19th level, a Kryptonian gains the ability to Time Stop as though using the spell Time Stop. Using this ability is a move action that consumes 4 points from his Kr pool. His caster level for this effect is equal to his Kryptonian level.
Unstopable: At 20th level, as long as a Kryptonian has at least 1 Kr point he is treated as a Gargantuan creature where it would benefit him. The Kryptonian gains a +24 bonus to Strength, a +12 bonus to Constitution, and a +9 bonus to its natural armor. It gains a +4 bonus to its CMB and CMD. He does not gain reach. These bonuses and penalties replace, and do not stack with, those gained at 13th level and being treated as huge.
I used DEX/CON/WIS 10.
I gave a Cloak of Resistance with a bonus of 1/3 level maxing at 5 at 15th level.
I used Starting INT 16, Leveled up INT.
I gave the PC an Headband of Vast Intelligence of +2 at 9th, +4 at 14th, +6 at 17th.
Increasing base stats by 2 shifts save +5%
Feats shift save +10%
Stat booster can shift +5-15%
Heroism shifts +10%
Greater Heroism shifts +20%
Pale Green Ioun Stone shifts +5%
Luck Stone shifts +5%
Ah, okay, I would have just had him not try to use dimension door defensively, and taken the attacks of opportunity, which would negate ranged attacks, but then he wouldn't have had to make the concentration check. From the sound of the combat there, there wasn't much in melee range, so minimal aoo's. I'll avoid that tactical snafu.
*smack
I didn't have to make the concentration check did I...
The Government knows. That means everyone who is anyone knows. If a faction in Sargava dosn't have a horse, they will reinforce the government. Once they get to Kalabuto, or if a faction gets forced out early, the Mzali will likely learn of what the "SG" is up to, and they would send an army to cut them off.
To the point of the general store, when you roll the resupply check it takes 30-check days minimun a week. I imagine the first time someone sends a supply train back the news breaks in Eleder/Kalabuto and from there anyone not in the game, comes running.
Imagine Gex, Neb, Alkenstar, Osirion, Etc all finding out that a lost azlanti city has been found in the expanse, and the only thing holding it is rabble from Sargava.
Within 6 months, Savanth-Yhi should be a war zone.
Then comes Cheliax...but that is probably in Skull and Shackels.
Wrapping up "Souls" and getting ready for "Racing." I just re-read "Sargava: The Lost Colony." Was there a reason that the Ivory Cross, Gold Crown Shipping and Mining Company, and the Rivermen's Guild did not make it into "Serpent's Skull"?
They make non-mentioned cameos. ;)
racing hidden cameos:
Ivory Cross is just as likely town guards/body guards around the city. The Dwarf in Kalabuto is likely a Gold Crown Shipping and Mining Company employee, or was. And once you leave Kalabuto you are on the river, most likely using the Rivermen's Guild boatmen and guides.
...at least that is the way I played it.
I have seen others use the Ivory Cross as a neutral party that sets up a general store / pub in the original camp area in Saventh-Yhi, to provide a common ground for all the factions to come and negotiate in peace.
I say use them where you can. They are part of the flavor of the area and should be used to get the full effect of Sargava and the Expanse.
Iron Apocalypse - do you want a creation system, a monster book, or both? Do you want them as playable races? (nice name, btw!) I'm up to my eyeballs in crafting such a system...
Yes, Agreed. All four.

wait...wait...*brain explodes as thoughts of Pretenders, Headmasters, Voltron, and Macross overwhelm
Perhaps mighty archwizard Aroden went off to create a demiplane to which many of his countrymen fled, perhaps, and they locked the door behind them so that whatever was destroying Golarion (since they were convinced that Earthfall was just the opening salvo of an impending earth-shattering kaboom) couldn't find them.
Now, off in their own demiplane, the thousands of survivors of Lost Azlant are growing ever more baroque and self-referential, like standing water, breeding reptiles of the mind. If they ever open the doors to their self-imposed prison, which they have twisted into a fantastical gilded cage, opulent and decadent in a way that only a Melnibonean would appreciate, they may not only not recognize Golarion, they may find themselves needing to violently correct all that they see has gone so terribly wrong in their absence...
Wait a second...
Aroden = Kal-El/Superman - The Last Survivor of a doomed race
Set's Demiplane = The Bottled City of Kandor
Runelords = Zod
Arodens Shield = Superman's "Shield"
Starstone Cathedral = Fortress of Solitude
Whispering Tyrant = Lex
Deskari = Doomsday
Iomedae = Supergirl
With this reasoning I can safely say two things. First, as supposed mythic level rouge, I think I can identify Lord Gyr of House Gix as Batman. Who better to guard the Fortress of Solitude. Two, the Aboleth destroyed Krypton.
So as far as I can tell, Abadar is one of the oldest gods. Strangely is also Master of the First Vault.
Other oddities…he is God of Walls and Ditches, Judge of the Gods and his symbol is a key
From the wiki
http://www.pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Abadar
History of Abadar:
Abadar has long served as the guardian and protector of the First Vault, a repository said to be crafted by the deity's own hand, containing perfect versions of everything ever created or seen by civilized peoples. He is also credited with guiding the advancement of the demihuman races towards the point where they could establish civilized societies of their own. He is believed to have been among the group of eldest gods who banded together in the time before mortal reckoning to defeat and imprison the rampaging god Rovagug.
He was worshiped by the ancient Azlanti before Earthfall, who focused more on his aspects as a god of cities and gold, rather than of law.
If we go with "there are no accidents" there is some strange things here.
"long served as the guardian and protector of the First Vault" like a Vault Keeper...
"a repository said to be crafted by the deity's own hand, containing perfect versions of everything ever created or seen by civilized peoples. like a Vault Builder...
Let's throw the imprisonment of Rovagug in with this.
LOCKDOWN:
the goddess Sarenrae sliced open a hole in the Material Plane, and the archdevil Asmodeus bound him with a key only the Prince of Darkness held. This prison, known as the Dead Vault, is believed to be connected to Pit of Gormuz on the continent of Casmaron, in a region known as the Windswept Wastes and was sealed by the legendary Star Towers.
So they blasted down to the Dead Vault,
Warning AP Info:
a feat even the Azlanti have reproduced in serpent skull and Mobhad Leigh
and then a powerful entity locked the vault with a key. Strange, right. There is a strange similarity between Abadar and Asmodeus. Old and Key Keepers.
What has always bugged me about this legend is that it says "when he {Rovagug} turned his gaze upon a new world he was opposed by an unlikely collection of gods "
A new world does not equal Golarion and that has always had me puzzled. What world? Could it be Golarion? Maybe, Maybe not. But of the gods that fought Rovagug, several are from other worlds or from "out there."
Goblins are like roaches, kill one and more comeback. I would just have the tribes members who were out hunting take the tribes "underground" to regrow. In a month or two they will be back up to normal. ;)
I would stick with there being a relic to find. I think personally I would make it something like the The Iron Fist of Pa Sho. The Thief(Ninja) could take it to help he/she/it preform more crimes and thievery. You could have them feel responsible for the problems the Thief creates and try to undo the damage that has happened.
Perhaps the relic acts as a key of sorts to other treasures but in opening them up the thief releases "guardians" that also try and recovery the treasurer that threaten the common people
You could do a stint where even the thief looses the Relic to pirates, everyone gets captured and taken to the "West." They could call a truce with the Thief to work together to recover the relic and get home. Allowing you to explain the thief's motivations and build the character up as more than a ghost they are chasing.
Thief could have stole the relic for good reasons. -"My lord is cursed and the only way to undo it, is to break the Seven Seals of the Dragon. I know it will release the darkness back into the world, but..."
Set up the environments for combat so that by moving they can gain bonus. Staggered rocky terrain, Forest full of Bamboo, fighting in knee deep river water, on a bridge, Top of a waterfall, Ancient ruins, Temples, Temple Steps, etc.
Give them opportunities to catch up with the thief, fight for a bit, and then have them Vanish and Dimension door away. But always leave a clue to the thief's next destination. Map, medallion, sack full of supplies with notes, etc.
I am insane, feel free to ignore me, this is all theory...
And here we go...
Ok, reading through the wiki entry leaves everything open. There is some wording that leads me to believe as I do.
“worked to maintain culture and learning in the aftermath of the disaster.”
the key words are “maintain” and “in the aftermath.”
That leads me to think that “Old Mage” was indeed alive and kicking before Earthfall.
“According to legend, there was a great Mwangi civilization in the Mwangi Expanse”
Ird.
If we listen to the legends , “Some credit Jatembe and his Warriors with the destruction of Ird, a lost city whose surviving relics paint a picture of a foul and decadent culture. However, some foreign scholars speculate that Ird may also have been the birthplace of Jatembe. Repeating the latter theory in the Magaambya is not recommended.”
What if Ird was Jatembe's birthplace and what if it was foul and decadent. “Artifacts of Ird have been found in the later Rastel and Terwa cultures, and also in Arzikal. They provide a picture of slavery, decadence and an apparently immortal ruling caste who traded in the souls and lives of the commoners.”
Sounds like an Azlanti outpost ruled by a Veiled Master...maybe. Lets circle back up, “However, some foreign scholars speculate that Ird may also have been the birthplace of Jatembe. Repeating the latter theory in the Magaambya is not recommended.”
Why? Why in Magaambya (the arcane academy) and not in Nantambu (the city)? Perhaps, because Magaambya is sitting on top of the ruins of Ird.
I found the thought of Magaambya interesting so jumped into Inner Sea Magic. “Ancient Mwangi Magic”, allows you to pick spells from the Druid list. Interesting. So we have a wizard school that has roots in Druid magic, almost like a left over from the old ways of a tribe to the new ways. We can theorize then that Jatembe may have been more than a wizard and taught both ways to his students.
Again back to the beginning. “Jatembe and his ten disciples – the Magic Warriors gave up even their names, and are now recognizable only by their golden masks shaped in the form of fantastic jungle creatures .”
So Jatembe's first class (insert x-men joke here) all wore mask shaped in the form of fantastic jungle creatures? Or is it possible that they all had Druidic training as well. Interesting.
Ok, leaping around here a bit.
Serpent Skull Spoilers, BEWARE!:
We fall back to Savith and the attack on Ilmurea. We know that the Garundi war is the second war and that the Serpent folk had been defeated in the north already at this point.
In Pathfinder #42 (0_0) Sanctum of the Serpent God, we are treated to some of Savith's Legend on page 10. The first item says she chose a group of companions to help her in slaying Ydersius.
“An Azlanti Wizard, a Azlanti priest of Desna, a cyclops general, a lizardfolk chieftain, and the king of an ancient tribe of human jungle warriors.”
Now its a leap but the Azlanti Wizard could be Xin. Granted it can also be the Coil of Ydersius that Aveshai (the Cyclops) was locked in stasis with, but I am going on the theory that it was Xin. Also, it is a leap but the “king” could be a young Jatembe.
If young Jatembe was part of the party to help slay Ydersius then he could have been there as they tried to destroy the skull. It could have taunted them and spilled secrets trying to bargain for its life, and to silence it so they could think, Jatembe could have sewn its lip shut. Then when Savith tossed the head into the lake of fire. The tread would have been destroyed.
Another Xin link to Saventh-Yhi is the Spires themselves. It appears a similar weapon was used in the north when Azlant defeated the Serpent Folk there. The Mobhad Leigh has the same pattern/design as the spires once they are activated only larger. I think they made one big one in the north, found it unstable, and re-designed it in the south when they ready for another assault on a serpent folk city. Even Aveshai new of the spears as they where being built even before the assault on Ilmurea.
The many races working as one theme is prevalent in Azlanti defeat of the Serpentfolk, and yet Xin was exiled for those exact beliefs. I believe, he would have had to experienced working with other races to believe in it enough to risk exile and expulsion from his homeland.
If Xin and Jatembe adventured together during the Serpent War, the exchange of ideas could have easily happened. PCs share spell books. ;)
Xin could of taught the king of “High” magic and Jatembe could have told Xin of the gods. Another link between the two is the “Old” nomenclature. Both Xin and Jatembe are referred to as “Old”
I have considered that the statues to Lissala also might represent more than just a goddesses image. It might be a memorial. The Serpent tail is at the bottom representing the past and what came before. The Female body with whip and headless represent Azlant and the sacrifice of Savith. The Six wings represent Azlant and its allies transcending (Giants, Lizardfolk, Azlanti, Mwangi, Varisian, Ulfen) into the true face of Lissala. The Rune itself is Lissala and it rules over all.
Why does my brain work this way...the destruction of Ird.
What if the catalyst for the Starstone didn't start in Azlant but in Ird. What if to protest the treatment of the commoners, i.e. Mwangi. Jatembe started a rebellion against the Azlanti rulers in Ird who turned out to be veiled masters. The rumors spread of how the Azlanti were being controlled, and before long even the Azlanti rallied against their leaders/veiled masters. In this way Jatembe's actions could have triggered the events that led to Earthfall and wiped out Ird, which was rebuilt into the Magaambya and then the city of Nantambu.
The Gods also change a little. They are not static. Many gods we know today were slightly different during the Azlanti civilization, like Abadar. We know this from their depiction in the ruins of Savith-Yhe.
Ok, the Azlanti having gods isn't all that surprising on its own. But then I remembered the Aboleth involvement in its development. If the Aboleth were as involved as we are led to believe. It should have been a simple thing to prevent the culture from developing followings of the gods.
So, what I can guess is that it didn't matter to them or it was too useful a tool for control that it was not a threat. And if that is the case it wouldn't matter to them now if the Humans had gods. So those countries that are Anti-Religious (Rahadourm, Hermea) may not be that big of an indicator of a veiled master.
But who would it profit to have a nation without religion?
Conspiracy Theory HO!:
Pharasma. She needs them for the Graveyard of Souls to keep Groetus away. She needs more and more souls because as the planes grow, obtain souls, the pull on Groetus becomes stronger and stronger. So she "sacrifices" souls to keep him away.
For me, this is my world. I was late coming to RPGs, but I got here about the time 3rd rolled around. By that time all the other settings had been out, been played in. Mysteries solved. Heroes died, Villains conquered. But Golarion, I got in on the ground floor.
When the doors opened it had that fresh new car smell. Filled with mysteries and potential. Fresh takes on monsters and yes even a little kitchen sink thrown in. I like that. My home brew was like that.
Only now I have a world that others share, that we can debate and theory over endlessly. That we all get to discover together.
So yeah, there are pieces I don't like. But more often than not, one of those pieces will show up in an adventure or story and BOOM. I have found something new to love.
Golarion is my world, and I cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings.
Once I started thinking about how great a Taldor AP would be, I soon realized that my ideas went beyond that. So I had to think it through to feel it come to an end. What follows, will be me slowly but surely posting the stream of thoughts about this idea I just could not let go.
Best I could do is a back cover format for each book, I hope it makes sense.
In the nation of Taldor, Grand Prince Stavian III has been murdered. In front of the Princess in the Kitharodian Academy, an assassin appeared and ended the line of kings. In her rage the Princess cried for vengeance and the shamed Ulfen Guard swore to the last man she would have it.
Still in mourning, the Princess-Elect has summoned a group of adventures to undo a mistake made in a moment of anguish. For the Ulfen Guard have trailed the assassin to Andoran and if left unchecked will bring about a war that neither country can afford.
Pathfinder Module 4715: Reaper of Kings
In the nation of Taldor, Grand Prince Stavian III has been murdered. With little to go on the advisor to the Grand Prince, Dominicus Rell, has focused on the strange weapon used to end the line of kings. A weapon with properties eerily similar to those of the Final Blades in Galt.
Rell has pulled together a team of unique individuals to cross over into Galt, and find the one person who might know something about the weapon, the Citizen Margaery San Trayne, inventor of feared guillotines.
Pathfinder Module 4715: Throne of Taldor
In the nation of Taldor, Princess-Elect Eutropia seeks to claim the throne, but the calcified traditions of Taldor have other plans. Senator Karthis has called upon the senate to continue following the rules of primogeniture and elect a new Grand Prince. The city of Oppara begins to fall into chaos as the noble houses begin to takes sides and its up to few brave individuals to prevent the city from tearing itself apart.
As the Senate cast its vote, the black sails of Cheliax bring an unexpected visitor to the city. The line of kings has one more branch, and his last name is Thrune.
You know, looking at it, I think your right Yora. Using "Count of Monte Cristo" as a template, those look more like import investments than actually owning a ship.
If you wanted your own ship and crew you would buy the ship (10K gp Sailing ship). You need four teams of Sailors to crew the ship (+8). Lets say bunks are built into the ship, you need two for the crew (+16). Using the smallest size of bunks we get 30 squares. The ship has 60 squares. So using Storage as the hold I think you can maximize the footprint with 7 (+14). If we add a Captain's quarters[Bedroom] (+3) and a Kitchen (+4) to the top deck, cause that reminds me of the ship from smugglers shiv.
That gives us +45 for the check. or 5.5 gp/day
If you hired a Captain to run you ship, you are at 0.5 gp/day
I think that covers it, but I am not sure there would be any profit. it might be possible to build more on to the ship, the top deck has 60 squares to work with, maybe the deck is a common room in size and then you can use the rest to flush out the Captains area, maybe with guest rooms, dinning area, office, extra storage. Still playing with this.
Our world is on a razors edge. Thassilon reaches for us from the past and darkness creeps at us from below. Untested rulers try to hold cursed thrones while monsters crawl out from the darkest corners to strip away our future.
In the nation of Taldor, Grand Prince Stavian III has died, leaving behind a country tearing at the seems. His daughter, Princess Eutropia seeks to claim the throne but the calcified traditions of Taldor have other plans.
The nations of the world are watching and preparing, for now is the time of the final pronouncements. Now the last lines of the Book of 1,000 Whispers will unfold. In the city of Oppara, The Harbingers of Fate stand watch, waiting for the echo of glory to usher in a new age.
Based on how popular Kingmaker is, I can see a product line that focus on armies and factions within each country. I can see hex maps of each country going over well too. Taldor would be an awesome Kingmaker / Game of Thrones setting.
Imagine Princess Eutropia as Cersei or Daenerys, as you see fit, and start splitting up the country. You have Sarenrae cultist, Galt anti-nobility, Traditionalist Taldor, The Queen's Taldor, Chelaixian Opportunist, Andoran People's Revolution, Qadiran Invaders.
The whole time you can have the Qadiran saying, "The Desert is Coming." ;)
Different question. How would you own a ship? I see where I could hire sailors and a captain. Do I just buy a ship and use it as their location to operate from? Do I build a ship out of rooms? Wouldn't owning a ship grant me a bonus to the business? Should I buy a ship and then outfit it with Lodging or Storage rooms based on size?
Or would this whole thing be better as an investment? If so why have sailors and a captain for teams?
You might try Tomb of the Iron Medusa, I think there is a little info on Taldor and her father in there.
If you ask me the whole thing is going to go down in a civil war. Probably involving Galt, Andoran, Cheliax, and Qadira. I see this spiraling mess going epic in the future. Imagine a Kingmaker/Game of Thrones type AP that takes Years (game time) to run each module and opens the door for a time line shift on the main campaign setting.
You could have the main AP line that chronicled the major events of the war that the party would have to deal with.
A mega players guide that sets up the war.
2 - 3 modules that dealt with espionage between the factions.

I have a personal theroy that Aroden was the son of Xin. Xin being an Azlantian exile who founded Thassilon. There are hints that Xin's son was imprisoned by the Runelords as they took over, and hints that Xin's son led people to safty durning the Earthfall through the underdark. The Mobhad Leigh sounds simular to another entrance to the underdark created in an adventure path. All that said I think he sacraficed himself to break humanities ties to the Aboleth.
I think he knew that they still had some control of him, and that through him the Aboleth could control humanity. I think the Earthfall was just a step in the Aboleth's plans to gain power by creating a god they could control who then could control the masses. Humanities power centers spring up around a sea created by the fall. A sea that the Last Azlanti brings up from the depths the Starstone. A sea with Absalom, the "City at the center of the world" in it. A city with ties to gillmen.
No, Aroden self-sacraficed himself to give humanity its freedom from the Aboleth. It makes sense.
My speculation is that Aroden committed suicide ...
I think suicide is the right answer and is exactly the fulfillment of the prophecy. You see I think the Aboleth still had a hook into humanity through the Last Azlanti. The prophecy I think had to do with the Aboleth reclaiming their control of humanity like in the days of old through Aroden, exerting whatever high level control they had over the Azlanti people to actually control a god into terraforming the surface world into a place more suited to their needs. Look at the sodden lands, the place is perfect for an Aboleth surface colony.
I think the Lirgen looked into the dark and saw other worlds that had suffered the same fate, and having witnessed the mind behind it where wiped out for their knowledge. The Aboleth used the power of the stars to cause atmospheric phenomena to occur right before Starfall, Lirgen's astronomers probably saw something similar.
The spread of the Azlanit heritage around the inner sea(Taldor, Andoran, Cheliax) looks like a prime setup for the reclamation of Humanity and their lands. The Gillmen of Absalom are probably even the "saved" Azlanti the Aboleth preserved to act as go between Aroden's city and the rest of Humanity.
I think Aroden freed humanity from the curse of the predestined servitude to the Aboleth, freeing his people from the fate the Aboleth had predetermined for the whole planet. His self sacrifice gave us a chance to write history our own way.
A god sacrificing himself for his people to prevent the forces of darkness from controlling their fate sounds strangely familiar.
I'm just starting this module, and I've decided to make Nkechi a Juju Oracle (Wendifa) instead of a cleric of Gozreh. ...
Cool idea. You know what I couldn't figure is how come he was not a cleric of Shimye-Magalla, the janiform amalgam of Desna and Gozreh the Bonuwat worship. If I had thought about it beforehand I would have done this, but alas, no.
Just brainstorming…

"Bring forth my sage." The troubled chieftain stood in is hall, sprawled all around him was what passed for a map of world he knew. Danger came in all forms and from all sides. Alone, he and his warriors could not stand against the coming winter.
Fragrant incense announced the sage’s arrival. “Crone, tell me, how do I unite my people, how do I etch my name into the stones of history and be remembered forever?”
The old oracle shook the bones from her cup and listened to them fall. Her two acolyte daughters dropped to their knees and studied the lay of the runes. Slowly they handed them up to the old mother, announcing their lay, and giving her time to feel them and know the meaning.
“So in times most ancient a great hero beheaded the god of serpents and paved the way for her kingdom to come. So too must you Saebjorn Arm-Fang, kill a mighty wyrm and find your place in history.”
