I have had the luck of starting RotRL twice now with two very different groups. Both times someone in the party "adopted" a Goblin and worked to "uplift" them so to speak. I mean really worked.

In one timeline the Birdcrunchers are now a "good" tribe that works with Sandpoint and helps protect the region.

In the other, our group's CE Half-Orc Brawler adopted the last goblin child in Thistletop as his own son. He is every bit the monster Pathfinder makes him out to be he but directed towards saving Sandpoint and the region.

Maybe it is our group and the willingness to allow "Anti-heroes" be dark as a group that allows me to see the goblin as a viable player class. It feels natural to us.
My experience with Pathfinder Goblins has been interesting. I have had the luck of starting RotRL twice now with two very different groups.
Kryptonian

Use Monk

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Kryptonians are proficient with the simple weapons. However, they deal unarmed damage to the object they are using due to their tremendous strength.

Kryptonians are not proficient with any armor or shields.
When wearing armor or using a shield, a Kryptonians loses his AC bonus, as well as his fast movement and flurry of blows abilities.

Weakness Viridium: Kryptonians become deathly sick in the presence (10’) of Viridium. They become nauseated and loose access to their Kr pool which cuts them off from their abilities. Every round of exposure drains 1 Kr point from the Kr pool. Once depleted the drain begins affecting Constitution until the Kryptonians death.

Weakness Sunlight dependency: Kryptonians must make endurance checks for every 24 hours without exposure to a yellow sun. Failure prevents them from regaining Kr pool points until they spend at least 5 minutes basking in the sun to replenish their power. Magical light never replaces the need for sunlight.

Change AC Bonus to work off of Con

Change Still Mind (Ex) to DR 5/Magic

Ki Pool(Su) to Kryptonian Pool (Ex) - The number of points in the pool is equal to 1/2 his Kryptonian level + his Con modifier. As long as he has at least 1 point in his Kr pool, he can make a Kr strike. At 4th level, Kr strike allows his unarmed attacks to ignore 1 point of hardness per level, ½ this bonus on strength checks to break object and Resist Fire, Electricity, Cold, and Acid 1/level. A Kryptonian gains a bonus on perception checks ½ his level. At 7th level, is PC is treated as large where it will benefit him. The Kryptonian gains a +8 bonus to Strength, a +4 bonus to Constitution, and a +2 bonus to its natural armor. It gains a +1 bonus to its CMB and CMD. He does not gain reach. At 12th level, he gains Penetrating Strike. At 16th level, he gains Greater Penetrating Strike.

By spending 1 point from his Kr pool, a Kryptonian can make one additional attack at his highest attack bonus when making a flurry of blows attack. In addition, he can spend 1 point to increase his speed by 20 feet for 1 round. Finally, a Kryptonian can spend 1 point from his Kr pool to give himself a +4 dodge bonus to AC for 1 round. Each of these powers is activated as a swift action. A Kryptonian gains additional powers that consume points from his Kr pool as he gains levels.

The Kr pool is replenished each morning after 8 hours of rest or meditation; these hours do not need to be consecutive.

Replace Purity of Body (Ex) with Immune (Ex): At 5th level, a Kryptonian gains immunity to all diseases and poisons, except supernatural and magical diseases and poisons.

Replace Wholeness of Body (Su) with Drink the Sun (Ex): At 7th level or higher, a Kryptonian can heal his own wounds as a standard action. He can heal a number of hit points of damage equal to his Kryptonian level by using 2 points from his Kr pool.

Replace Diamond Body (Su) with DR 10/magic

Replace Abundant Step (Su) with Kryptonian Powers
Flight (Ex): At 12th level or higher, a Kryptonian can fly as if using the spell Fly. Using this ability is a move action that consumes 2 points from his Kr pool. His caster level for this effect is equal to his Kryptonian level.

Heat Vision (Ex): At 12th level or higher, a Kryptonian can use Searing Light as if casting the spell. Using this ability is a standard action that consumes 2 points from his Kr pool. His caster level for this effect is equal to his Kryptonian level.

Throw Bolder (Ex): At 12th level or higher, a Kryptonian can throw a heavy object at an opponent inflicting 3d6+Str with a range increment 10’xStrength Modifier as a ranged attack. Using this ability is a standard action that consumes 2 points from his Kr pool.

Replace Diamond Soul (Ex) with Power House (Ex): At 13th level, as long as a Kryptonian has at least 1 Kr point he is treated as a huge creature where it would benefit him. The Kryptonian gains a +16 bonus to Strength, a +8 bonus to Constitution, and a +5 bonus to its natural armor. It gains a +2 bonus to its CMB and CMD. He does not gain reach. These bonuses and penalties replace, and do not stack with, those gained at 7th level and being treated as large.

Replace Quivering Palm (Su) with Greater Kryptonian Power (Ex):
At 15th level or higher, a Kryptonian can use Overland Flight as if casting the spell. Using this ability is a move action that consumes 3 points from his Kr pool. His caster level for this effect is equal to his Kryptonian level.

At 15th level or higher, a Kryptonian can use Cone of Cold as if casting the spell. The reflex save DC is 10 + ½ Kryptonian level + the Kryptonian’s Con modifier). Using this ability is a standard action that consumes 3 points from his Kr pool. His caster level for this effect is equal to his Kryptonian level.

Replace Timeless Body (Ex) with Almost Immortal (Ex): At 17th level, a Kryptonian no longer takes penalties to his ability scores for aging, but can be magically aged. Any such penalties that he has already taken, however, remain in place. Age bonuses still accrue but the Kryptonian cannot die of old age. He effectually stops ageing. If magically aged beyond maximum age, he will die.

Replace Tongue of the Sun and Moon (Ex) with Telepathy (Ex): A Kryptonian of 17th level or higher can speak with any living creature with a language within 100’.

Replace Empty Body (Su) with Turn Back Time: At 19th level, a Kryptonian gains the ability to Time Stop as though using the spell Time Stop. Using this ability is a move action that consumes 4 points from his Kr pool. His caster level for this effect is equal to his Kryptonian level.

Unstopable: At 20th level, as long as a Kryptonian has at least 1 Kr point he is treated as a Gargantuan creature where it would benefit him. The Kryptonian gains a +24 bonus to Strength, a +12 bonus to Constitution, and a +9 bonus to its natural armor. It gains a +4 bonus to its CMB and CMD. He does not gain reach. These bonuses and penalties replace, and do not stack with, those gained at 13th level and being treated as huge.
ok quick and dirty, not playtested, use at your own risk.

Now, off in their own demiplane, the thousands of survivors of Lost Azlant are growing ever more baroque and self-referential, like standing water, breeding reptiles of the mind. If they ever open the doors to their self-imposed prison, which they have twisted into a fantastical gilded cage, opulent and decadent in a way that only a Melnibonean would appreciate, they may not only not recognize Golarion, they may find themselves needing to violently correct all that they see has gone so terribly wrong in their absence...

Wait a second...

Aroden = Kal-El/Superman - The Last Survivor of a doomed race
Set's Demiplane = The Bottled City of Kandor
Runelords = Zod
Arodens Shield = Superman's "Shield"
Starstone Cathedral = Fortress of Solitude
Whispering Tyrant = Lex
Deskari = Doomsday
Iomedae = Supergirl

With this reasoning I can safely say two things. First, as supposed mythic level rouge, I think I can identify Lord Gyr of House Gix as Batman. Who better to guard the Fortress of Solitude.
Ok, reading through the wiki entry leaves everything open. There is some wording that leads me to believe as I do.

“worked to maintain culture and learning in the aftermath of the disaster.”

the key words are “maintain” and “in the aftermath.”

That leads me to think that “Old Mage” was indeed alive and kicking before Earthfall.

“According to legend, there was a great Mwangi civilization in the Mwangi Expanse”

Ird.

If we listen to the legends , “Some credit Jatembe and his Warriors with the destruction of Ird, a lost city whose surviving relics paint a picture of a foul and decadent culture. However, some foreign scholars speculate that Ird may also have been the birthplace of Jatembe. Repeating the latter theory in the Magaambya is not recommended.”

What if Ird was Jatembe's birthplace and what if it was foul and decadent. “Artifacts of Ird have been found in the later Rastel and Terwa cultures, and also in Arzikal. They provide a picture of slavery, decadence and an apparently immortal ruling caste who traded in the souls and lives of the commoners.”

Sounds like an Azlanti outpost ruled by a Veiled Master...maybe. Lets circle back up, “However, some foreign scholars speculate that Ird may also have been the birthplace of Jatembe. Repeating the latter theory in the Magaambya is not recommended.”

Why? Why in Magaambya (the arcane academy) and not in Nantambu (the city)? Perhaps, because Magaambya is sitting on top of the ruins of Ird.

I found the thought of Magaambya interesting so jumped into Inner Sea Magic. “Ancient Mwangi Magic”, allows you to pick spells from the Druid list. Interesting. So we have a wizard school that has roots in Druid magic, almost like a left over from the old ways of a tribe to the new ways. We can theorize then that Jatembe may have been more than a wizard and taught both ways to his students.

Again back to the beginning. “Jatembe and his ten disciples – the Magic Warriors gave up even their names, and are now recognizable only by their golden masks shaped in the form of fantastic jungle creatures .”

So Jatembe's first class (insert x-men joke here) all wore mask shaped in the form of fantastic jungle creatures? Or is it possible that they all had Druidic training as well. Interesting.

Ok, leaping around here a bit. [Spoiler omitted]

If Xin and Jatembe adventured together during the Serpent War, the exchange of ideas could have easily happened. PCs share spell books. ;)

Xin could of taught the king of “High” magic and Jatembe could have told Xin of the gods. Another link between the two is the “Old” nomenclature. Both Xin and Jatembe are referred to as “Old”

I have considered that the statues to Lissala also might represent more than just a goddesses image. It might be a memorial. The Serpent tail is at the bottom representing the past and what came before. The Female body with whip and headless represent Azlant and the sacrifice of Savith. The Six wings represent Azlant and its allies transcending (Giants, Lizardfolk, Azlanti, Mwangi, Varisian, Ulfen) into the true face of Lissala. The Rune itself is Lissala and it rules over all.

Why does my brain work this way...the destruction of Ird.

What if the catalyst for the Starstone didn't start in Azlant but in Ird. What if to protest the treatment of the commoners, i.e. Mwangi. Jatembe started a rebellion against the Azlanti rulers in Ird who turned out to be veiled masters. The rumors spread of how the Azlanti were being controlled, and before long even the Azlanti rallied against their leaders/veiled masters. In this way Jatembe's actions could have triggered the events that led to Earthfall and wiped out Ird, which was rebuilt into the Magaambya and then the city of Nantambu.

I need a drink...
I am insane, feel free to ignore me, this is all theory...

If you wanted your own ship and crew you would buy the ship (10K gp Sailing ship). You need four teams of Sailors to crew the ship (+8). Lets say bunks are built into the ship, you need two for the crew (+16). Using the smallest size of bunks we get 30 squares. The ship has 60 squares. So using Storage as the hold I think you can maximize the footprint with 7 (+14). If we add a Captain's quarters[Bedroom] (+3) and a Kitchen (+4) to the top deck, cause that reminds me of the ship from smugglers shiv.

That gives us +45 for the check. or 5.5 gp/day

If you hired a Captain to run you ship, you are at 0.5 gp/day

I think that covers it, but I am not sure there would be any profit. it might be possible to build more on to the ship, the top deck has 60 squares to work with, maybe the deck is a common room in size and then you can use the rest to flush out the Captains area, maybe with guest rooms, dinning area, office, extra storage.
Thanks, just trying to figure this one out.
Different question. How would you own a ship? I see where I could hire sailors and a captain. Do I just buy a ship and use it as their location to operate from? Do I build a ship out of rooms? Wouldn't owning a ship grant me a bonus to the business? Should I buy a ship and then outfit it with Lodging or Storage rooms based on size?

Xin being an Azlantian exile who founded Thassilon. There are hints that Xin's son was imprisoned by the Runelords as they took over, and hints that Xin's son led people to safty durning the Earthfall through the underdark. The Mobhad Leigh sounds simular to another entrance to the underdark created in an adventure path. All that said I think he sacraficed himself to break humanities ties to the Aboleth.

I think he knew that they still had some control of him, and that through him the Aboleth could control humanity. I think the Earthfall was just a step in the Aboleth's plans to gain power by creating a god they could control who then could control the masses. Humanities power centers spring up around a sea created by the fall. A sea that the Last Azlanti brings up from the depths the Starstone. A sea with Absalom, the "City at the center of the world" in it. A city with ties to gillmen.

No, Aroden self-sacraficed himself to give humanity its freedom from the Aboleth. It makes sense.

You see I think the Aboleth still had a hook into humanity through the Last Azlanti. The prophecy I think had to do with the Aboleth reclaiming their control of humanity like in the days of old through Aroden, exerting whatever high level control they had over the Azlanti people to actually control a god into terraforming the surface world into a place more suited to their needs. Look at the sodden lands, the place is perfect for an Aboleth surface colony.

I think the Lirgen looked into the dark and saw other worlds that had suffered the same fate, and having witnessed the mind behind it where wiped out for their knowledge. The Aboleth used the power of the stars to cause atmospheric phenomena to occur right before Starfall, Lirgen's astronomers probably saw something similar.

The spread of the Azlanit heritage around the inner sea(Taldor, Andoran, Cheliax) looks like a prime setup for the reclamation of Humanity and their lands. The Gillmen of Absalom are probably even the "saved" Azlanti the Aboleth preserved to act as go between Aroden's city and the rest of Humanity.

I think Aroden freed humanity from the curse of the predestined servitude to the Aboleth, freeing his people from the fate the Aboleth had predetermined for the whole planet. His self sacrifice gave us a chance to write history our own way.

A god sacrificing himself for his people to prevent the forces of darkness from controlling their fate sounds strangely familiar.
Matthew Morris wrote:My speculation is that Aroden committed suicide ...
