"Whatever we do, we do it quickly," Brintak said as he watched the dragon attack the griffon. Looking down at the ascending goblin hordes, he added, "I could try reasoning with the goblins, but they are not reasonable as a whole, unfortunately. And with my wounds as they are, I would not fare well in a fight."

His eyes blearily opening, Brintak slowly looked around himself. "Ugh...What...what happened?" he asked, trying to not let the pains of his injuries knock him back out. His everything hurt, so reaching for his pack, he rustled through it only to find his extract gone. 'Must have used it on me already,' he thought to himself before straining his body into a standing position.

Making his way to the opening in the wall, Brintak dithered and hesitated. He just knew -just knew- that this was going to end badly for him. Indeed, it seemed like the exact moment he stepped out and grabbed hold of the frozen slug's back, his arms gave way. Plummeting towards the mushroom below, he had just enough time to think, 'Well, this was over quickly,' before impacting with a meaty thud.

Well, I'm at -6hp with 1 non-lethal damage.

"I am really intrigued by how those two...creatures have been frozen like that. Has anybody heard of anything like this before?" Truely, he was really glad that the woman had finally shut up. Really, was that really necessary? Moving over to the woman, he clumsily patted her on the shoulder and said, "Uh, there there? We'll...um..try to get you out."

"Found things!" Brintak yelled to the other people moving around. "Come get things!" Assuring himself that he still had most of his things, he gave a final nod and put his backpack on. It felt good to have all of his things again. It was a comforting, if heavy, weight. "So, who you people?"

With his target in sight, Brintak lept for his precious bag, hoping that he still had all of his items in stock. Trying to keep from stepping on any of the still paralyzed people, he grabbed his backpack and started going through it, trying to determine if his possessions were still in his...possession.

That's one of the bad things about alchemists, they are completely reliant upon their gear, especially starting out.

This was not a good month for Brintak, kobold explorer extraordinaire. First, he wasn't able to join in on an expedition to study some recently-found ruins that could have possibly been a site dedicated to one of the dead gods. Then, unwilling to face his brood with this failure without a bit of courage in liquid form, he ended up getting unwillingly involved in a bar fight and locked up for the night. And then, when he was finally able to make his way back home, through some bizarre circumstances he was unable to really remember, something about a round table and a wizard maybe, he found himself being reduced to a meal in a dragon's larder! Admittedly, while the food wasn't exactly the worst he's ever ingested, he had too much he wanted to do in his life!

Slowly, as the paralysis in his body wore off, Brintak gently started flexing each muscle he had, his toes and fingers curling, before he could make his way into a sitting position. It looked pike he could finally make his escape! Well, if it wasn't for that gnome about to ruin everything. Fortunately, it seemed a dwarf and a GEARFORGED?! had things in hand, leaving him to search for his missing gear.

The policy seems fairly standard and agreeable. I like the voting idea for moving the story along if it seems that the players are a bit stuck or just not advancing. Everything else is about what I've worked with in other games.

This is DekoTheBarbarian's submission. Reusing an old alias. He is a kobold clockwork alchemist with red eyes and brass-colored scales. He has the short, spindly build typical for his race. There is a link to my myth-weavers page on his page.

Background:
Hatched to a small clan in the Kobold quarter of Zobeck, little Brintak was unique due to his metallic scale coloration. Always picked on and left alone, he finally found a home in the worship of Rava. Giving himself to the discipline of clockwork crafting, Brintak would spend hours learning and tinkering. But when his hunger for knowledge grew too quickly, his order sent him out to learn in the world, and hopefully learn greater patience.

Brintak waited around the door by the captain, his eyes shifting around warily. He didn't trust how quiet their enemies had gotten, all of his instincts were screaming that something was going to happen, above and beyond just their comms going out.
