Ok, here's the stats for Ouachitonian's submission. Lucien is about the most rogue-like Monk you'll ever see, though he can't disarm magical traps, so not quite as good as a real Rogue unless I take a dip some time. I'm still working out the background since I don't know the setting. The closest I can find for what I have in mind of his religion is the Azlanti deity Amaznen, who died when the Starstone fell. The important thing is that he's a deity of knowledge, but one who believes that some things should be kept secret (the Reaper of Reputation aspect of Norgorber might be a better choice, but his other aspects don't really work). I see Lucien as being part of an underground cult that knows things. They aren't the illuminati, because they aren't controlling things. But they're sort of one part spy ring, one part library. If you need information, they probably have it, and if they don't they can get it. For a fee. He's not a cleric, but a dedicated layman. He might spend part of his day working in the stacks, and part of his night tracking the movements of a businessman whose spouse thinks his late night meetings aren't actually business. Or rifling through a nobleman's private files for evidence of a plot that could destabilize the realm. Knowledge is power. Knowledge is the most valuable coin of all. Sure, he also knows how to use his fists, he excelled at the organization's unarmed combat training, but hopefully it won't come to that. I'm thinking the group would be based out of Arquette, and is sort of the underground arm (or possibly a semi-heretical splinter sect) of a respected religion that's popular with scholars, researchers, librarians, etc, puts high value on learning and protecting existing knowledge, that sort of thing. The main-line orthodox priests just don't necessarily believe in stealing documents, spying on people, selling secrets to those willing to pay, etc.

Yep. I just haven't ad the time to give the game it's due, so I'm stepping back. Much as I said in the thread, it's nothing against any of y'all. I've enjoyed my time in the game. But I've posted less than once a week in the last two months, and y'all should have better than that. Have fun, and I hope I see y'all again in some other game.

Blue sat in his apartment, looking wistfully out at the sky. Sigil was an interesting place, but, but as pretty as its skies were, they weren't the endless skies of home. Blue had been working for the agency for decades now, in one role or another, and in all that time he'd spent scant weeks on the Plane of Air, and none anywhere close to the region he'd come from. He missed it dearly. He missed it enough that he decided the time had come to make a change. ------------------- A few days later... When next the group meets, Blue clears his throat. "I, uh, I wanted to say some things. I'm going to be leaving. I've been away from home too long. I talked to some of our supervisors, and I'm going to be taking up a post as one of The Organization's agents stationed permanently on the Plane of Air. Nothing against any of you, I've enjoyed my time here and learned much. If you're even on the Plane of Air, look me up. But it's past time I went home. I haven't seen those skies in nigh on twenty years. Thank You all."

Blue frowns, his brow furrowing. "I'm not sure about that. They'll know something happened to the supplier, sure, but that doesn't give them any detail about the who or how or why of the disruption. They'll know something happened, but they won't know it was us, or why we're after them, etc., so it could still be a viable option."

That's a bit of a relief, honestly. I'm no good at relationships IRL, much less trying to play how a being half-composed of air would go about courting a robot. lol This whole time I've been uncertain whether I should be taking more of a hand in steering where this is headed, or if that would be a bad idea, so I've mostly just reacted to Gift's prompting. Mostly. Anyway, I'm sure Blue will enjoy the view without needing too much invested in commitment. Besides, it's easier to avoid Arlo's ire when you aren't actively trying to get into his daughter's pants.

Gift & Blue: Blue takes off after Gift, not quite able to be annoyed with her for getting a head start. I mean, this is a nice view. he thinks with a smirk as he runs just behind her. His new cybernetic tendons feel remarkably natural, requiring practically no adjustment, and yet he can also feel more feedback from them than he thought possible, minutiae of energy consumption, torque stresses, etc. streaming into his mind without distracting him, somehow. Activating his vision modifications, he's immediately taken with how much more detailed everything is. As though it's been magnified, but without taking up more space in his visual field. He also notices new levels of detail in Gift's posterior, how her artificial muscles move beneath the fabric of her jeans. and I should look elsewhere before she notices me noticing. he thinks, raising his eyes to look past her, at the approaching terrain.

Gift & Blue: Blue does his best to keep his composure as Gift is...uh...disassembled. He can't quite keep from blinking more rapidly, and his eyebrows climb up his forehead a bit. When Gift's voice emerges from...well, not her head, which is right there on the table, he relaxes a little bit. Right, robotic, she can upload her consciousness, the body isn't necesarily important. Just really cute. Stop that. Ok, situation normal. Cute robot girl not hurt. calm. Even so, he sighs with relief when she gets off the table. "Sounds good." he says, offering his arm. "What sort of testing did you have in mind?"

"Ok, the tendons make sense. Possibly also use the integral upgrade capacity one my eyes to install a veemod system. That's probably enough for now, I don't want to rush things too fast." he pauses, and takes his hand in hers. "But once we finish that, I want to hear more about how you've been. I've missed you too." he brings her hand up to his mouth and kisses it.
A the event, Blue sticks close to Gift, but scans the area thoroughly, coordinating with the others through the meld.

If there's room to pass, Blue attempts to back invisibly past Rafif (dropping in from above). He does so slowly, so as not to give himself away by the wind of his passage, amnd is careful not to touch anything, again so as not to be heard r noticed as footprints on the carpet, etc. If there's any indication that he's seen, he breaks off immediately and does his best to play it off. If he makes it in, he'll relay through Gift's telepathic bond what he sees.

Lucien floats to a good firing position and opens fire on the fallen angels. Invisible during the first attack, so it will hit vs. flat-footed touch AC. Also, swift action for Hasted Assault magus arcana and spell-striking with Electricity Elemental Scorching Ray. Firing on the three closest targets.

Blue is slow to react definitely not because he's staring at Gift, no sir. Besides, he's invisible. No one saw that. How many beautiful forms does she have? He thinks as he moves to a flanking position, ready to strike Narsod or his associates from concealment if it becomes necessary. Belatedly, he thinks Glad I didn't broadcast that...

::Be careful, Gift. Even if you look like him, his cronies might notice if you aren't acting like him. It might be better to claim to be an angel, sent from Heaven. Tell them he has gone to a higher plane, but that you have been sent in his place to offer guidance. You should have an easy time impersonating an angel. You already look the part, after all.:: He says, winking at her.

Knowledge(Engineering): 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (19) + 20 = 39 Blue works with Gift on the drive, concurring with most of her points. In fact he lets her do most of the talking. "As the fair lady says, whoever did this was highly skilled, and covered their tracks well. But we're also skilled, and were able to recover most of it. I'm sorry we couldn't recover it completely."

Can I land on the hovercraft and sit on it (the hood or the trunk or something?) for a while without being noticed? I can probably just deal with the fatigue if not, it's not like I'm a barbarian or something. ::Yes, that sounds like a good idea.:: Blue decloaks and comes in with the drones.

Blue swiftly expends arcane power to enable himself to move quicker, then casts a spell and fires several quick shots from his pistol. Swift: Hasted Assault Arcana. Spell Combat: Cast Greater Invisibility (so that I can remain unseen by the Fendarions while attacking) then full attack. (I'd have positioned myself low enough that the plant's bulk will help shield my attack from view, also.) Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (19) + 18 = 37
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 34

Animal Companion: Jallia found Norrit two months after her husband's brutal murder. The fledgling eagle had fallen out of its nest and injured one of its wings. Jallia took the bird back to her then empty home, and nursed it back to health. She tried releasing it back into the wild, but found that nothing she did could send the bird away, and in fact Jallia is quite grateful for this.

There are several small streaks of white in her otherwise mousy brown hair. Her skin is tanned and slightly leathery and her fingers are stained various colors, the result of foraging through the wilderness for fungus, roots, and berries. Most of the time Jallia wears her hair up in a bun, giving her a matronly appearance, although on occasion she will let it hang down around her shoulders. Backround: At the age of 43, Jallia and her husband Kello moved away from their forest community to settle in Sandpoint. They lived happily there for nearly 30 years. Kello ran a small alchemical shop on the edge of town, and Jallia did her part to support him. Many a morning Jallia and Hannah Velerin would stroll through the wilderness collecting various floral ingredients. Hannah would then return to her shop and treat the poor sick of Sandpoint, while Jallia would return to her hom and treat the town's injured animals. Though Jalli and Kello each persued vastly different lifestyles, the two gnomes remained deeply in love and were content with their plight in Sandpoint. This blissfull ignorance of the world around them ended six years ago, during that time of recent unpleasantness. Kello would often spend the dark hours chatting with a cantankerous old coot by the name of Broderk Quink. The wrinkled human fancied himself something of a sage and historian, though few others agreed with his views. For some reason unknown to Jallia, her husband actually enjoyed talking with the man, so she rarely complained about their late night conversations. Many such nights came when Jallia would kiss her husband on the cheek, crawl into bed, and then wake up beside him in the morning. Then one night he never returned. Since that dreadful night Jallia has been forced to make her way through the world without the one she loves the most. For the past 5 years she as struggled, to no avail, in order to keep their business going and a roof over her head. Although not alchemically inclined Jallia was still able to collect alchemical ingredients for others, and on the side would take care of the occasional sick animal, however none of those things earned her enough money to continue living the way she had been. Without Kello at her side she isn't sure she wants to stay in Sandpoint anyway. She is down to her last coppers and will soon no longer have a place to sleep. |
