Arushalae tries to answer some of the concerns of the party. With a smile she starts with Morgrym's inquisition about sleep. The Midnight Isles are actually going to give you more sleep than you are used to. The name of the realm derives itself from the fact that there is never a daytime there. The typical day is only 16 hours long and is split equally into night and evening times. You will be able to sleep there just as you can here. However you might have to be on guard more as you never know what you will run into or better what may find you over there. Ansha is correct as well. You may never see a more beautiful nor dangerous place than the Midnight Isles. Now as for the ritual itself the Lexicon sates quite clearly that 2 parties must be on opposite sides of the portal. Once in place they each hold up a signet, she hands Nasira a signet medallion, and recite the divine incantation while placing the signet in the rift. The ritual will take about 5 minutes during which time they must keep the signet opposing each other. Any thing less could be catastrophic and break the portal open further. It will be up to the rest of you to protect and defend Nasira during this time. Once the portal is closed I will still be able to speak telepathically to Morgrym so should you need assistance I will help with as much information as I can. I will be on this side to protect Queen Galfrey along with Zeriax. May Desna watch over you. Nasira the ritual requires your move and standard action each round. You can still take a 5ft step, swift actions and those actions that use a mythic point. Otherwise you are of significant power and level don't worry about any other prerequisites. The map is opened up and you can place yourselves whereever on the right hand side of the portal. Any minute/level or longer spells you want cast are easily done now. Init and combat starts tomorrow!

Believe it Morgrym. There is nothing so devious as evil in beauty, unless it is evil unknown to oneself. A person who thinks they are doing good but are manipulated into evil acts is willing to convince themselves that no matter what they do they are not wrong. Believe me Morgrym you must be aware at all times of your actions and to make sure that you are not straying from the path you want.

Arueshalae laughs lightly at Morgryms words. All you mortals and ‘Righteous’ people never truly understand the abyss at all. The midnight Isles are some of the most beautiful places you would ever travel to. Yes there are deep dark places just as there here on Golarion. As we said earlier, each isle is composed of a being that Nocticula assassinated and each Isle retains some of the traits of the slain. The darker the slain the darker the isle. The more beautiful the slain the more beautiful the island. Evil and beauty have no correlation.

At the mention of Midnight Fane Arushalae pipes up, This may be worse than what you fear Aravashinal. The reference to midnight may have another connotation that I hesitate to bring up. Midnight Fane may refer to a place that is connected to the Midnight Isles, home of the demon lord Nocticula. If this is correct then we might be facing more than just Deskari and Baphomet. Nocticula, the demon lord of assassins, darkness, lust and succubi, is greater than either Deskari or Baphomet. Tread carefully and watch your backs always when dealing with anyone from the Midnight Isle's realm.

If you keep talking though sooner or later 1 of them will hear you. Just let me know the plan and we can run with it. Arueshalae chimes in with her thoughts. If you can take out a couple of them at range then hopefully Garith can take advance to take on the others without being overwhelmed. If he should somehow get turned tos tone then we must coat him with blood quickly after the rest are dealt with. Either that or we all hang back and see if Zeriax can take them out from range while flying?

tier 4 Garith After meeting with Arueshalae the party learns quickly that for there to be relative peace in the area a strike against the group known as the Templars of the Ivory Labyrinth is in order. Thankfully Arueshalae has heard about the location of the hideout and knows its relative location. The problem is that the exact entrance is hidden by an illusory wall. So while I can point us in the right direction it might still take us some time to fine the right gorge in the hills and then find the correct area to search for the hidden opening. Without any further knowledge though to go off of the group makes preparations for a prolonged search in the inhospitable wilderness of the Marchlands. 1d20 ⇒ 4 Luck, or providence, is with them however as after only 4 days of searching the hills Arueshalae seems positive that you have reached the correct gorge. The walls of this rocky gorge rise up in nearly vertical cliffs of jagged stone to either side, joining in a sheer cliff to the north. Mounds of rubble-much of which appears to be fragments of statues of crusaders and demons- lie in heaps near the gorge's end. I am sure this is it. Now just keep your eyes open for any sort of trap, ambush or the secret wall and pray that Desna guides us.

I do not know exactly what you mean by a creature made of worms unless it is some sort of spell cast upon him. However I do know where this Ivory Sactum is...or at least close enough to find it. While captive I heard made mention of a place 96 miles to the west of Drezen. We should start there and look for anything that could result in a hidden fortress. She pauses and looks at you all. We can start now unless you wish to return to Drezen. If so I will remain here till you speak with the rest of the crusaders and tell them about me.

Arueshalae smiles warmly upon all your kind words and you can see the true beauty that she possesses. Gladly will I take your help in going after this alchemist. However I warn you that I do not know what this alchemist looks like or even if he is a true alchemist. They talked like he was one since he was dealing with the elixirs but that could have been just a superlative. The one thing I do know though is his name: Xanthir Vang.

Garith she does NOT detect as evil. Zeriax you get the sense that she is trying to be as forth coming and truthful as she can be. Her previous existence was filled with so many lies and deceit that it comes as second nature to her. Yet she is striving to suppress those habits and not exaggerate anything in her telling. Nasira wrote:
Arueshalae nods her head at your wise words. I can only hope that the 3 of them continue to look down upon us favorably and judge us according to our deeds now and not those of the past.
[b]I agree completely with you. That is why I must continue to find out what I can about the Nahyndrian Crystals and the elixir that it can produce. You see while captive I overheard my captors talking about a location to the northwest of here that is being controlled by a powerful alchemist. Apparently this alchemist has found a way to take these Nahyndrian Crystals and transform them in such a way as to instill great power in those that take them. Through the use of this elixir they plan on creating an army of super demons capable of ending the war and extending the Worldwound to all of Golarion. Garith wrote: "But making up for and preventing further wrongs that liken to your sins, our cadre is working to beat back the demonic hoards of the Worldwound. In this you will find penance and redemption." If I can stop the alchemist then I feel like I will have don't something worthwhile to offset some of the atrocities I have performed in the past. Somehow I know that if I do enough good deeds and serve my penance then I will fully break free of my demonic heritage and be welcomed into Desna's fold. Yet I fear what the response will be of those that see me. their first reaction will be fear, anger, and violence. I can not go to Drezen as I will not be accepted there. |
