Ana seems lost in thought during the discussions, almost as if she is listening to another conversation altogether. She tilts her head to the side and says No, that won't work at all. The one on the left.

If you ask what she's talking about she looks at you as if she doesn't understand what you mean. She seemed fine up until you all reached the ship and now seems a bit...strange.

Ana nods at the mention of the animals. I would be more than happy to help wherever I can. I am sorry for my absence from you all. It seems the activity on this island is quite robust as Horatio has stated. It is possible that magical emanations are causing the animal growth beyond the possibility of illusion as well. I did see what looked like some ruined stone towers further to the north on the island so perhaps there is ruins that explain the unnatural size of the creatures.

She looks at Variel and says I am sure the gods will provide answers at the appropriate time. We can only make sure we are watching for the signs.

A cult? Related to Shanxia? That seems odd. The hags spoke about Shenxua almost as if it were a being of some sort. The hags are not nearby thankfully. I traveled a great distance to get here. What have you found so far?

You don't detect any duplicitous statements.

Ana waits until the group is together before saying, My apologies for my absence but while I was mourning the loss of Brightscale under the waves, I had a most horrifying encounter. I happened upon an injured hippocampus, tangled in nets on the outskirts of an undersea forest of kelp. Moving to help the poor creature I soon realized that it was a trap that I foolishly fell into. A coven of Sea Hags captured me and brought me to their lair on the edge of deep black hole in the ocean floor. I was to be sacrificed to a creature that lived within it seemed. I was able to entually make my escape by shifting forms and escaping my bonds but as I fled I heard one of the hags scream "SHENXUA ET OCCIDERE NOS!" which I later found out meant, "Shenxua will kill us." After that I made my way back to the surface and eventually found out that you had won the Free Captain's Regatta and come here. Do you know what this Shenxua means?

As soon as Ana says Shenxua et occidere nos Variel and Rajah, you both get a vision that strikes you at your very core.

Variel:
Your eyes sweep across the sea to the Eye of Abendego, raging against the sea. In the flashes of lightning you see the shadow of a massive obelisk. You cannot see the obelisk itself but you get a feeling of deep malevolence from it. This seems far off in the future but you know in your bones that at some point you must find this obelisk to get the answers you seek. You know also that there will be signs when the time is right to seek it but to do so before would lead to your doom.

Rajah:
Your vision goes black and you find yourself floating in the void. You see nothing in any direction and yet find yourself calm within it. A piece of the black nothingness forms itself into a box of deeper black and floats toward you. You have the feeling that when opened, the contents of this box will shake the very fabric of the world. It must be kept safe at all costs.

Ana nods her huge head and swims around the ship once before changing form to a sea snake and disappearing below deck through the large hole in the middle where the ship split in half.

As far as spellcasting underwater, I was mistaken in that if you have water breathing or the like cast, you can cast spells normally with the exception of things like fire spells which have specific rules to them, so I shouldn't have made Flynn roll concentration earlier. Either way Rain you would have easily succeeded with that roll lol. You don't notice anything else out of the ordinary with your perception i.e. no discernable traps or anything.

Ana stays silent and merely nods in thanks at the professions of sympathy. She moves to Brightscale and begins a keening song of grief and loss. She sheds no tears and when she is done with the song, she stands and casts several spells. She first casts a spell you have seen often that allows her to tread upon the air and also another common spell that allows her immense strength for carrying. Once done she changes form into that of another spinosaurus, this one having yellow markings in the same shade as Ana's hair but with her gem shaped eyes.

Reaching down, she gently cradles Brightscale in her claws and begins walking on the air up out of the ship. Her gigantic form walks over to the water and gently places Brighscale within, allowing him to sink to the bottom to return to the life cycle, returning the borrowed life energy to the world.

Returning to the ship she says to whomever is there My thanks for your kind words. Brightscale was a wonderful companion to me and I will miss him but do not feel sorry for me or him...such is the way of life. Those of us who are lucky enough to experience this beautiful world can only make sure that our time is well spent upon this plane of existence...for we have an eternity awaiting us in regret for a life wasted. Her eyes briefly stray to Dhaavan first before turning to each of you in turn. Celebrate your lives and each other. Put aside the petty and be truly free men and women. Unconstrained by the burden of past slights, you all have the potential to fulfill the destiny the gods have set for your lives. Take heed though, for the path ahead is not set and is filled with peril. United we are strong, always remember that.

Again though, this is only one womans opinion. Dhaavan I expect will come across issues on occasion with his looks. *Don't mind me, just a harmless tiny viper climbing up the dock post...nothing to see here*

Ana and Seijiro:
Ana smiles and says gently, Despite my appearance to be all knowing and wise, she says winking at you I do not have a knowledge of timetables or what should happen when. I would say we should have time unless some other twist of fate prevents it. I would love to see a wedding. I have never been to one. In the MWANGI expanse someone from the brides family and someone from the grooms family fight to the death for honor and a larger portion of the other families lands. Is that likely here?

That was not me but I heard it as well. I certainly do not think such things of you Seijiro.

Flynn and Ana:
She smiles at the poetry and says I have no idea what that means but it sounded pretty. I am not very knowledgeable about such things as poetry. Living in the Mwangi Expanse I didn't even learn to read until about 20 years ago when I started studying the druidic arts. There was no need before then. I would be happy to learn though if you have more. My skills and knowledge tend to the more...practical I guess. As for who I am and such things, I have lived among the large beasts of the Mwangi Expanse for my entire life, hidden away in the jungle. I never met my father but my mother was something of an explorer and had an interest in the giant beasts there. I simply picked up where she left off when she died and have been there ever since. At least until I received the vision from the gods.

Not knowing any better, Seijiro thinks this is from Ana that he crossed some line when speaking with her, and walks over to her, bows deeply and says softly "My deepest apologies for offending you. I'll not trouble you again."

Ana looks incredibly confused and says Umm what do you mean Seijiro? You have caused no offense.

Ana and Seijiro:
Ana laughs hysterically and says Not a sore ankle, hahaha...an Ankylosaur is a large creature with bony plates upon its back and a huge tail with a ball shaped bone on the end for clubbing. It is quite powerful but ungainly and a bit clumsy...kind of like me. She smiles at the complements and say You do me too much honor Seijiro. Brightscale did a large portion of the work. As for the stars and heavens celebrating me I think it more likely that they are celebrating Dhaavan leaving the outer realms than me arriving here.

She nudges you and says I look forward to interacting with you all, for even if I did not have the connection to Dhaavan, you are a group of individuals destined for greatness and for the protection of the realms of mortals. As for my people, I have none. I have lived among the large beasts of the Mwangi Expanse for my entire life, hidden away in the jungle. I never met my father but my mother was something of an explorer and had an interest in the giant beasts there. I simply picked up where she left off when she died. One more thing, she says before heading off to sleep for the night, never be afraid or uncomfortable in asking me questions. It is nice to speak to someone with a receptive ear...and yours are quite nice. She winks before heading to bed.
