Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

"Too late? For what?"

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne examines Mayweather and tries to wake him Medicae(34): 1d100 ⇒ 15 "I'm much better at doing this the other way around... though I think I can bring him back to us."

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne drops down to one knee for a closer look at the lock. Security(43+30): 1d100 ⇒ 61
assuming that's a pass and there were no other modifiers involved
Allrianne overrides the lock and then moves to the side of the door before opening it up.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne retrieves her multi-key, "Am I opening this up?"

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne scans the room for a messenger/anyone heading out of the room. If no-one seems to be moving with purpose towards an exit, she will head out in the rough direction of nonesuch.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

"Do we have any leads on the ship?"

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne examines the Gilded Widow, it certainly didn't seem to warrant praying to, if that's what he was doing.
Can she see if there's anything in the chalice and/or what the tarot is showing?

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Stealth: 1d100 ⇒ 91 Well that's no

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Is he actually speaking, can Allrianne slip a little closer to listen in.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Stay safe Cirle, games can wait.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Aha, thanks for that.
I've been meaning to re-read the entire thread for some time now so I know what's going on.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Deciding that annoying them further will be worse than not having her weapons, Allrianne surrenders hers.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

"Agreed, as much as I'd like to take a look around, I doubt we can leave without alerting someone, and upsetting out hosts further makes our work more difficult"

Having said this Allrianne doesn't like being caged, and paces the suite, looking for alternative exits. If there are windows accessible she will take a look outside for handholds/climbing routes.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Still here sorry!

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

"Well, that could have gone better." Allrianne curls up in a chair, "I should not have blanked like that, I apologise. I will practice my techniques of mental focus."
Allrianne seems shaken up, she'd thought she had control of her fear, instead it had proven it still had a grip on her in the last battle.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

"or simply possessed but still living - though the distinction between possession of the living or dead is of little note. Once the body is corrupted by demonic possession it may as well be dead." Allrianne considers the new information and whether this is a matter for confrontation or later investigation.

She looks towards Alekseevna, her head seems better for judging the room.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

"Dead? Well, they were still moving when we left them."

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne's not entirely sure what's going on, as far as I'm aware no-ones told her that the presence is gone, or that the servitors are in the process of being hacked.

As far as she's concerned, let the servitors clear the room and then see what's left.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne will attempt to conceal her blade rather than drop it, though she'll otherwise comply.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne watches the door to the Kitchenette warily. Weighing the balance of charging in after these near-unkillable abominations and waiting to see what the servitors were going to do.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Way I see it we have 3 choices, we retreat from the room, and hope the combat servitors can cripple/would the warpzombies. We can focus our attacks on disabling them, cripple the arms/legs so they're not a threat (or not as much) or we can try and keep them occupied while someone searches the room for clues as to what happened here?

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

If the mobile one is still pushed back into the other room, can we seal the door in any way - or is it just an opening?

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Should have pointed out the blade earlier, someone could probably have grabbed it when I was out.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne snaps to her feet, her lips mouthing the words to the litany against fear as she grips her power blade and thrusts at the writhing creature's head.
Attack(42+10prone-10fear): 1d100 ⇒ 1 dmg: 1d10 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 3 = 10

Can standup as a free action, not sure if was still close enough to get a swift attack, or if it's even necessary
Possible 2nd Attack(42+10prone-10fear): 1d100 ⇒ 21 dmg: 1d10 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 3 = 16

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne's eyes flicker and open Idiot, are you some fainting child? you have faced down worse than this and survived. Allrianne begins to get to her feet.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Amelleanne will take whichever watch, though if the others are happy to let her rest she won't object.
Added 4hp (1heal+1rest+2rest/heal)

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

T(32): 1d100 ⇒ 39 Something presses at Allrianne's mind, an urgent pressure, a state of...alarm? She can almost grasp it FP reroll: 1d100 ⇒ 94, but no, it's gone.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne continues to lounge on the floor, oblivious to her surroundings.

Just checking in to show I'm paying attention

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

I also forgot fate existed, so I might have done a re-roll, but it seems a bit past that point now, so I'll just have to trust you all to save me!

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Fear(22): 1d100 ⇒ 90 Well that's a fail with 6 degrees of Failiure, feel free to re-roll/give me something else, but in the interest of keeping things moving
Shock: 1d100 + 60 ⇒ (44) + 60 = 104
Allrianne embarrassingly faints dead away. For 1d5 ⇒ 3 rounds, gaining 1d5 ⇒ 2 insanity and upon recovery will be shaken suffering -10 to all tests until the end of the encounter - awesome!

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

This may be a stupid question, but with Pen 6 can a Powerblade just stab through the wall at one of the targets? Obviously it'd have a massive penalty to hit, as it'd be an educated guess as to where they are.

This is of course assuming their hostile, which I'm pretty sure is the case at this point.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne quietly counts to 10 to see if there is any reaction from the room, then attempts to slip into the room and find cover/hiding spot. Silent Move(41): 1d100 ⇒ 84

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Initiative: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Allrianne steps to the side, in case anyone inside opens fire at the forced entry, and readies her blade.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Security(71): 1d100 ⇒ 45 Including +30 from multi-key

Allrianne's forehead creases, then she smiles, "...and in we go.", she quickly reaches for her blade as the door begins to slide open.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Perception(38): 1d100 ⇒ 84 -10 for difficulty but +10 if it's sight or hearing
Not that it makes any difference with that roll

Ah, no worries, I listed my more or less in order, so I can undo those if required, then just need to strip down the possessions by 2000. Not pretty, but not the worst issue with joining a game.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne will give her power blade a quick test, if there is no answer at the door she will retrieve her security tool and see if she can get it open.
Security(71): 1d100 ⇒ 54 (including +30 from multi-key)

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne quickly checks over the door Security(41): 1d100 ⇒ 81, "Shall we knock first, I'd hate to break in if they're waiting on the other side?"

Unless there are any objections, she'll tap on the door, see if there's an answer.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Allrianne smiles at Yelisaveta, as she returns to the rooms and starts unlacing her dress, before discarding it and exposing the form-hugging black Synskin beneath, finally pulling the featureless mask down over her face.

She briefly considers leaving the rifle, the rooms here would be better suited to close combat anyway - but better to cover all the bases.

"Is this better dearest?" she comments, mainly towards Yelisaveta.

Allrianne will be wearing an dress, which is fashionable, but doesn't draw too much attention. Her synskin will be underneath, just leaving her head exposed (if she could have the mask hidden in the frills of her collar so she can just pull it straight over her face, it would good).

She'll keep her power blade, multi-tool and throwing knives on her. as well as her poisons.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

"I can probably get us into the other rooms, the locks seem only of marginal quality, of course that has it's own risks."

Don't have any tools for the task, but can a knowledge of Chymistry determine anything about the blood, or at least confirm it is in fact blood? Scholastic Lore: 1d100 ⇒ 44

Allrianne remains outwardly calm, though inside she itches to pull out her blade, and wonders as to retrieving her rifle from the room.

Allrianne is updated with a slightly adjusted backstory, gear etc.

I hope it's not on a proscribed list, but I've taken some poisons from the GMs Kit, nothing too nasty. All details are in my profile in case you don't have access to that resource.

Also unless I'm being dense, there's no prices for clothing? Can I assume I have at least one dress from my life as a noble (was tempted to take it as Mesh Armour...).

It strikes me as we have similar backgrounds, though yours is infinitely more detailed than mine (which I did intend to expand upon... I may need to rewrite a bit of what's in my head so I'm not so much an inferior clone of you).

I could easily move background details to Fenksworld, give us some closer ties, we also both appear to have Underworld as Peers, which seems an easy duplicate to change, maybe I could move mine to Administratum or Government?

It also appears there is another noble in the mix.

Added 400xp of advancements.

How are we determining Wealth/Starting gear? Starting gear + a certain number of months income, starting gear + petition you for anything further, something else?

Can't see a default way of handling it in the rules anywhere, but I could be missing something.

Ah, I built up to 4000xp - assuming it was all in. So I have an extra 400xp to spend.

Not to contradict our GM, but the Quickstart rules seem to say that those percentages just overrule our starting values, instead of adding to it, while the 4x 20% hobby skills stack with the starting values.

It seems odd and it's at odds with how previous CoC's have done things.

Call of Cthulhu Quickstart wrote:

Allocate the following values among the eight
Occupation Skills and also the Credit Rating skill:
one at 70%, two at 60%, three at 50% and three
at 40% (set the skills directly to these values and
ignore the skill base values written next to each
skill on the investigator sheet).
After assigning points to the Occupation Skills,
select your Personal Interest Skills. These are skills
that your character has acquired outside of work.
Pick four non-occupation skills and boost them
by 20% (adding 20 to the skill base values listed
on the investigator sheet).

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Sometimes real life has to come before games.

Thankyou for your time.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Well thanks Devon, now my keyboard has cola on it.

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

"I've got a good eye, Kenneth, I'll accompany you."

Human Noble-Born Assasin (FP1/2; W11/11)

Moving OOC discussion over here for the moment.
1) & 2) are the same contact? so no harm in talking the Mckinsey about both - Allrianne is happy to go along and help

3) Allrianne would rather not meet with the hunters, and lacks the skills to do much with them anyway. Would all the crew need to accompany the hunters on their foray?

4) Presume Lysander needs to be contact on this, but again, I can come along with this if no one else wants to?

If we are accepting all 4 jobs, then we use up
70[1]+10[4] tons of cargo
and 3 high passage passengers, + what [4] requires?

I'm not entirely sure how our staterooms break down?
Doc appears to have controlling share, so is he the nominal captain (and gets the captain's stateroom) then we use 2 double state rooms + one of the single "guest" ones for the rest of us?

Leaving us with 2 Doubles and 2 Singles, presumably?

+4 Low berths.

So presuming the guy on [4] needs a Middle-High berth (low berth's are cold storage yes?) We only have 40 tons and 4 low berths left to fill.

There are 4 low-passage passengers heading to Feri according the list (one with an additional 4 tones of Cigars).

I'll leave filling the cargo hold to people with more experience of that sort of thing.
