Folks, I really hate to do this...but I think I'm going to have to bow out.
Things in RL are just moving at such a haphazard pace for me right now - I haven't even been able to get more than 6 hours of sleep in a single go for the last 4 days, and there's no guarantee that won't continue for a bit longer. It's selfish of me to keep saying to myself "I'll get my sheet updated. I'll get posting before the PbP gets too far ahead," at your expense, and so I shall withdraw.
Note - this insane schedule I've got is not because of bad things. It's mostly all good, in fact. Just...insanely busy.
So please accept my apologies for holding you up as much as I have so far, and I hope you have a great game with your fantastic GM (while I will be jealous that I'll have to try to catch this one some other time).

Joining you on the shuttle is an android with a rather laid back air about them. They're wearing armor and have some rifles and other weapons that look like they are rarely used, unlike a utilitarian backpack nearly bursting at the seams with rock samples and other field gear. They would have first arrived holding a travel canteen of hot, freshly brewed, coffee-scented synthetic oil in one hand and a data pad in the other. A small ruby-red LED is housed in the android's forehead - right where one might expect to find the metaphysical "third eye" of mystic lore. Following closely behind the android is a harried-looking but sharply-dressed blonde graduate student in her late twenties.
Smiling to each of you upon your first meeting, the android puts the data pad away. "Ah, hello there! You can call me Al...2O3 - Planetary Geologist and Starfinder Mechanic, at your service." After a very brief pause and a gesture to the spacesuit-clad young woman walking just a bit behind them, "Oh, and this is Yang Xiao, my teaching assistant. She asked to come along on a field mission here or there. She can be a rather persuasive speaker, and so here we are!"
Once at our destination (with environmental seals active) Al excitedly digs in to the geological materials laid out before them!

Player Name: Mike B
Character Name: Al 2O3 (as in the mineral formula for corundum)
Character Level: 9
SFS Number: 801-701
Faction: Second Seekers (Ehu Hadif) (...today, at least)
Discord name CanisDirus#6627
Have you Played and/or GMed this scenario before? Like Jim, surprisingly no to both.
Anything weird or tricksy about your character that I should know, especially always-on abilities that give you rolls (like Trap Spotter, etc.)
Al has a Phase Detector and a Radiation Badge on them at all times. They also have an "Invisibility Bypass Processor" that gives them constant "See Invisibility"
Ruby (Al's Exocortex AI) doesn't communicate openly, but is generally always aware of what networks she can connect to. Depending on mission briefing, Al often travels with their teaching assistant, Yang, who handles their student-facing/social interactions for them (Al is an adjunct geology professor).
Apparently I have over 30,000 credits to spend by tomorrow, so the above answer might get more added to it, too.
New question: What is this character's greatest fear or phobia?
Al is terrified of a reality in which magic (or worse, theocratic-influenced magic) sets the rules/laws of nature and hard science/logic can no longer be relied upon. They are wary about Witchwarpers in part because of this.

Al immediately goes to Antoine with the serum of healing they were given by Radaszam. "Medical personnel are likely still engaged in triage of rescued Starfinder agents. I recommend you consume this to help with your current injuries until more time is afforded to us."
After looking around and seeing that the whole team is still standing, Al gives each a nod while heading back to the bridge controls. "Empirically speaking, you are, by several orders of magnitude, the strongest agents I have had the opportunity to work with since being recruited into the society. Assuming we have no more difficulties in preparing this ship for exfiltration, I would happily procure coffee, or another beverage of your choice, for each of you when we return to Absalom Station."
That's Al-speak for "you are all awesome!"
Almost as an afterthought, through their comms, "Yang - the immediate threat is over and telemetry suggests that we will be entering the Drift in the near future. I recommend you get back to grading the recent undergraduate exam on igneous and metamorphic rocks we administered last week."

I just now noticed that part of my previous actions didn't post! Al's move action last round was to reload their rifle, since they only had one round in the current magazine. If that's not okay, just remove the -4 to the first attack below and they'll reload and fire once.
Al will delay until after Sorami acts and Antoine pulls back, giving them a more clear angle of attack. The android doesn't banter, seeing their team-mates so grievously hurt. They take aim and fire as fast as they can at the jinsul!

Al takes a Guarded Step backwards in case the jinsul commander can reach past their allies, as they call out, "I'll try to deal with the weapon - dedicate all other tasks to taking him down!"
Focusing themselves through Ruby's wireless hacking (20 foot range) ability, Al attempts to Overload the jinsul's weapon!
Overload (Ex):
As a standard action, you can cause a short in an electronic device, including most ranged energy weapons, melee weapons with the powered special property, or a single armor upgrade. This makes the device nonfunctional for 1 round. Overload doesn’t cause a locked door, safe, or other device to open, but it prevents anyone from opening it for 1 round. You must be adjacent to the device to use this ability. If you have a drone, you can instead use this ability on an electronic device adjacent to your drone. If you have an exocortex with the wireless hack ability, you can instead use this ability on any electronic device within range of your exocortex’s wireless hack. If you use overload on an item or armor upgrade in someone’s possession, the owner can attempt a Reflex saving throw to negate the effect (DC = 10 + half your mechanic level + your Intelligence modifier). Overload doesn’t affect androids, cybernetics, drones, powered armor, robots, or creatures with the technological subtype (all of which have shielding against this sort of attack), or items larger than Medium. Once a device has been successfully overloaded, a residual static charge prevents that device from being overloaded again for 1 minute.
The jinsul ascendant needs to make a DC 18 Reflex Save or their weapon becomes inoperable for 1 round.

Al continues to focus on flying, but tasks their exocortex AI, Ruby, to tap into the ship's systems, finding auxiliary power she can access to add to the expert work Ivok is doing at the engineering controls.
As part of this round, Al spends 1 Resolve Point to activate Enhanced Shield Regeneration:

Ruby will put 18 points into our forward shields.

Al takes and holds a breath before keying the intercom. "I am going to draw power from our drift systems to provide a momentary boost to our sublight engines for maximum closure to our targets before their long-range weaponry can lock on to us.
"Prepare for turbulence."
Piloting Initiative:1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24
Al will spend a point of Resolve to enact a Full Burn, changing the Drake's speed to 12 and maneuverability to "Turn 4" for this round of combat only. They will then set the thrust vector direct aft and shoot forward past the defensive screen of ships, charging hard towards the enemy's flank!

This is a free action, and Al is currently Tier 3 with the Wayfinders, so if you want them to use this, our ship would instantly gain 18 shield points. Just let them know when/if you'd like them to activate this boost.

During the three rounds, Al will regain 1 RP as per the overseer's post, and reload their magazines for their rifle.
Al decides not to correct Sev+ on the internal political workings of the society; but internally they make a note to later inquire if Guidance had some way to determine that Jadnura was still alive, perhaps being the reason that Luwazi Elsebo's nomination was never confirmed. Snapping back to the present, Al will activate combat tracking and join Sorami in firing at the largest (huge) of the plant creatures to try and draw it and the others near it away from the evacuees.

Al doesn't stop to talk since the plant creature is closing on Sorami and Sev+. They drop to one knee (thematically only, heh) and unload with a full attack!
Seeing their size and distance, Al opts to stay where they are, activating combat tracking on the light-green (LG for my by-line tracker) plant creature while also turning off their merciful fusion, unsure if plants can be affected by nonlethal damage. They the fire down-range from where they are, letting Ruby's assistance counteract the range!

I remember that we can't use this loaned item in part 4, and our Hangout conversation suggests that we're not too far away from that, so...

Al curses at the predictability of getting slightly overconfident just before being struck! Their energy shield absorbs a fraction of the impact and then shorts out, meaning the bulk of the attack dug into Al's superstructure past their armor!
They wince as they take another guarded step back, firing again in hopes of stopping this foe from pressing their melee attack!
...but in their haste to back away, their shot (likely) goes significantly too high and strikes a fresco on the opposite wall!
(GM: I just realized that I was +2 too high on my last round's attack - I forgot that Al hadn't switched over their combat tracking yet due to the enemy's proximity. If that made the difference between a hit and a miss please feel free to retcon it!)

"I wonder what calling your assault 'pedestrian' would be in your native language...eight times as inefficient, perhaps?"
Al will speak into their team's comms; "Be careful of their leg-blades. The one closest to Ivok is the leader and looks significantly more dangerous than the other two!"
Eyes scanning the evolving situation, Al decides to remain where they are, mentally tasking Ruby with activating combat tracking on the jinsul leader, then firing their rifle at them!
"At least the demon is dealt with...I believe there was a saying on old Golarion that I am glad we do not have to encounter: being between a vrock and a hard place."

Al's energy shield absorbs the demon's attack as they move. They activate combat tracking on the black demon (change this to red if it's brought down) before opening fire!
Al remains silent in these interactions, not certain but suspecting that trading information with a disembodied voice is not considered a form of data collection that will be accepted by peer-reviewed journals, and will confirm Ivok's findings while thumbing the merciful fusion on their rifle to the "off" position.

Pronto Pink Punk Piloting Post
Prior to landing, the android professor activates their armor's environmental seals, just in case.
While driving, Al hears Neon Ten's call-out and risks a quick look in the ATV's rear-view mirror, as their grad student Yang starts calling out, "must go faster, must go faster!"
Doing their best to keep calm and collected, Al applies maximum vertical foot pressure to the accelerator!
They are unable to coax the vehicle into speeding up to pull away from the creature behind them, however. To help ensure the security of their vehicle and passengers, Al will draw their static arc pistol with its normal stun setting on, and activate Combat Tracking on the sand slitherer.

Al will manifest the wings that the Starfinders told the team about, just to see what it's like to experience flight without using their jump-jets. They will also utilize the other technique to make their weapon more electrified (Shock weapon fusion). They will task Ruby with activating Combat Tracking (move action) and will then open fire!

Knowing that they won't be able to determine anything more than Neon Ten, Al instead mentally signals Yang to withdraw to a safe distance. The android quickly leverages the technique described to them by Historia-6 to learn this enemy's "DR, resistances, and current HP as a free action".
Edit: Didn't see Neon Ten's edited post before making mine. Questions for the GM - how often can we use these techniques, and what is the action economy of the two non-free-action ones? Thanks very much!
Seeing the sheer size of this opponent, Al has Ruby activate their Energy Shield as a standard action as they move to spread out from the group, drawing their rifle along the way and disengaging the Merciful weapon fusion - a virtual construct such as this is likely to be immune to nonlethal tactics!
GM:
A second question I just thought of - does RTEP work while in the virtual world? I ask only because a friend of mine's group is apparently also doing this mission and are thinking about fleeing, but their GM might not have told them about the RTEP thing at all. Thanks and sorry to bother you!

When the answers given do not seem to provide any useful intelligence, the android simply nods and puts it down on the bar, along with a few pieces of hard currency (that Al knows will still be in their pocket when they exit the simulation and so they have no issue "spending" it). They look to their teammates to see what group they wish to approach first.

Al looks around to take stock of their surroundings, impressed with the fidelity of the virtual interface and pleased to have all of their equipment. They only engage in sightseeing for a few moments before turning to the bartender, trying to act in as casual of a manner as they can devise.
"Any synthetic coffee-based drinks would be most agreeable. A side-order of information would also significantly increase the likelihood of above-average gratuity and return-customers.
...what can you tell us of this place?"
Meanwhile, they will task their AI, Ruby, with sending a short text message to the rest of the team, informing them of the conclusions Al has already made (i.e. the first spoiler).

Al mentally starts recording as much data as possible regarding the conditions surrounding the 'ghost ship' knowing that they are not the best at socializing with the living...much less a weary crew not entirely of this dimension. They keep their hands on the flight controls, however, just in case evasive maneuvers are called for, or if simply to continue on their path to the next derelict that Sev+ and the others need to scan.

Thanks for botting me...the last 24 hours have been rather bad, and I'm glad I didn't hold up the group by not posting.
Al will remain silent, but will send their grad student a text message to chime in and assist with the current conversation.
Yang will pipe in, adding to the others that she's along as a student and observer, and there is absolutely no way that the society would authorize sending a noncombatant like her out here if the mission in any way involved attacking fellow Starfinders!

Understood, thanks!
Al waits until Sev+ indicates that the first collection attempt has been completed, then flies to the next ship in their recommended list (barring orders from their ship's captain or any unexpected events).

Upon completing pre-flight checks, Al adjusts in their seat while having their exocortex block off one of the android's ears, to play music as if using a headphone-earbud. They think about how one of the more recent previous souls who inhabited their hardware-body wrote her dissertation on the use of music as a mnemonic method, and how they themselves applied this research while undergoing flight training. For a change, Al decides against sharing this with their team - the current mission to the Scoured Stars is perhaps not always the best time or place for personal histories or anecdotes. They also make the decision to not share the fact that they have only piloted a starship in armed conflict once - their use of simulations would probably "not count" in the eyes of their peers.
Once everyone reports that they are ready for lift-off, Al will ease the Verde away from its docking clamps and towards Bastiar-7.
Upon hearing Sev+'s analysis as well as Antoine's thoughts, "A logical approach. I will begin my approach once a decision has been made on firing on the indicated debris."
After the gunners (or if the crew decides not to) blow up the two previously-discussed ice chunks, Al will ease the ship towards the first (#1) wreck.
Piloting:1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
(Assuming this is enough...)
Noting the positioning of the wrecks, Al will point out, "I believe we can cover the field of derelict vessels more quickly if we start here then move along the inner orbit, circling back to near our starting position."

Al looks over Neon's projections and nods. "Most astute. Neither ice-object overtly puts the nearby ships at risk of further damage, allowing us both easier passage and more security while scanning. I concur with Neon Ten's assessment."
