Prilla manages to convince the occupants to open the door. Finally you hear a bolt being thrown back and the door opens.

This small, L-shaped room is dirty and disheveled, strewn with the remnants of a week’s worth of food and other supplies. Three beds take up one wall in the stone room, and though no windows look out into the city beyond, the room is lit with natural light. Despite its lived-in appearance, no scent of waste or evidence of massing refuse—or even necessary supplies—permeates the austere dwelling save for the smell of unwashed bodies, a dog, and the lingering scent of finished meals. The four occupants of the safe room are uninjured and in as good spirits as could be expected after enduring nearly a week of a protracted siege upon their home.

"Well met, I am Benedet. I speak for Greensteeples when Count Jeggare is not here." He points to each other occupant in the room as a way of introduction. "Dame Sabina Malatesta" he says, pointing to a tall, muscular knight looming menacingly over you, as if ready for a fight. She wears dark armor emblazoned with gilded roses and acts as the last line of defense for the survivors.

In the corner, far from the door, hides a stout but genial-looking middleaged halfling. "Malla, our cook" Benedet continues. Malla is dressed in a distressed and flour-covered apron, wields a well-seasoned cast iron pan, and observes you from behind a bed.

"And of course, this," he says, stroking the head of a massive wolfhound, "is Arnisant." Arnisant bounds from person to person, smelling your hands and encouraging pets despite his obvious age.

"So who are you and how did you get here?"

They take out their flute, play a jaunty number that is totally inappropriate for the situation and then sit down on a bed. "I am Slipp, and I'm here to Shoot him the tines." explains the little gnome.

"You wouldn't know of a scroll with Paracountess Dralneen's family crest on it around would you? Apparently it also needs rescuing..."

"Now then, " Benedet says, "I am grateful that the Society sent you. There are some ... items ... that need to be kept out of Thrune hands." He shoulders a leather rucksack from which the corner of a large book peeks out of the top. "I keep all of His Excellency’s records—even the ones that could cause trouble for all parties involved."

"As for the scroll you speak of, I know it exists but I do not possess it."

Slipp, after playing for a while, takes out a pouch with some nasty looking nettles in it. "Surprisingly enough, these work really well."

I can use nature to do normal treat wounds checks. With it taking ten minutes I can only do four of you though. If anyone really wants to move up the order, sing out, othewise working from the above, but with the brave pig going first.

They offer to dress the wounds of anyone still hurt. Starting with the princess of course.

If you have not played 03-04 (Devil-Wrought Disappearance) with your current PC, you need to succeed in a DC 22 Diplomacy Check to convince her to go with you. +2 bonus if you can RP something convincing.
