Tull Shadde-Quah

Tull doesn't like being called a thief and it takes all his self-restraint, such as it is, not to smash the statue to bits.
Tull Shadde-Quah
|
"Can I smash it? It's rude."
"The Rock "
|
The Rock attempt to identify the magical properties of the statue.
Detect Magic is cast
Spell Craft: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
Pai Shecks

Pai can't help it. She starts giggling. "Heeheehee! Let's put a mirror up in front of it. Anybody got a mirror? Or maybe we blindfold it. Hahaha! --Oh, hey, there's another set of doors down by the statue. Who wants to bet on whether it'll try to whack us if we go by?"
Pai Shecks
|
"Welp!" Pai announces: "I've never been a patient one. Cover me!" She zooms over and boops the statue on the nose. "Boop!"
If it doesn't attack her, she'll start searching the room in earnest.
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
"The Rock "
|
The Rock nods. He sees no need to get bogged down on trivialities.
"Indeed. We should keep moving."
| Ginger T-Rex |
Ginger follows her master's direction and follows Pai towards the statue.
The juvenile dinosaur flashes Pai a toothy grin. Clearly the youngster is spoiling for some sort of action.
| GM Jhaeman |
Spica pushes open the door to reveal a large library. A winding balcony corkscrews up along the walls, spiralling seven times before it reaches the roof some eighty feet above. Bookshelves line every wall from floor to ceiling, brimming with crumbling tomes, tablets, and scrolls. Shafts of light descend from the stained glass ceiling, sparkling with paper dust. Two modest desks stand in the brightest light, each with a chair, a pile of tomes, a sheet of blank parchment, and an inkpen.
The air here feels unnaturally dry.
Pai Shecks
|
"Oh. My. Gosh! I'm turning into a mummy just being in here! I know books gotta stay dry so they don't rot an all, but seriously! How'd they get it this dry?!" Pai babbles as she flies around, grateful that she has room to swoop without hitting her head. She starts perusing the sights at the top of the room and works her way down. "What are we looking for now? More sections of that creepy book? Or ways to wake up those hardcore meditaters?" She looks for areas where the dust has been disturbed recently.
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27
Spica Capella
|
I'm just looking for anything interesting ... but ... yes. I probably shouldn't stay in here too long cause drying out is really bad for us undines. Still ... it could be worth it if there's new magic here.
She carefully sweeps the area with a Detect Magic
| GM Jhaeman |
Pai and Spica make their way into the library, and as they reach the center of it they notice their footsteps have become completely soundless. But there's no time to think about why, as a a bright-eyed Gebbite woman who binds her jet-black ponytail with her holy symbol of Irori and a pair of monks leap down from the balcony above and assume combat stances!
The woman motions silently, but her message is unmistakable: Surrender now intruders, or there will be violence.
Pai Shecks
|
Pai's mouth makes the motions for saying "What the hecking fudge?! You'd think wise monks wouldn't get their minds controlled so easily! Geez!" But of course, no sound comes out. Instead, she flies back to tell everyone else to hurry up. Bursting into the talking statue room, she blurts: "There's a silence spell in the library, and three folks who wanna fight! Hurry up, slowpokes!" Then she zooms back in and hovers 25 feet above the trio of violent presumed-brain-puppets, waving cheekily and blowing kisses.
| Ginger T-Rex |
Ginger advances into the room and licks her chops wondering if the monks will make a nice tasty snack. She looks up at her master for direction.
"The Rock "
|
The Rock flies into the room as well and soars up to take a position near Pai. He is no master of diplomacy but he is also not afraid to crack some skulls when necessary either.
"So are we going to throw down or what?"
Tull Shadde-Quah
|
Tull also advances into the room and groans as he sees all the books. "Reminds me of all that homework that used to make me so mad..."
Seeing the mad monks advancing on his comrades, he grips his axe tightly. "Threats make me angry! By Desna's Design, surrender now or you'll regret it."
Is Tull also in the zone of silence?
Lorian the Peacemaker
|
Lorian looked into the room and smiled as he pointed to the nearest monk. "Bring it on" he said, drawing his sword with one hand and motioned the foe towards him with the other...
Intimidate(Demoralize): 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (5) + 24 = 29
| GM Jhaeman |
The Pathfinders meet the clear demand to surrender with an equally clear refusal!
@Lorian: I've moved you to the doorway so you can be within line of the sight of the nearest monk, Black. Your demoralize check is successful, and Black is shaken for 2 rounds.
Everything "southeast" of the dark gray line is in the midst of a silence spell, though the silence does not extend up to any of the balcony levels. Each balcony level is 10' above the one preceding it and there are seven of them.

| GM Jhaeman |
The Rock staggers one of the monks with a magical snowball as, almost simultaneously, his dinosaur companion chomps on to an arm and shakes the monk about like a rag doll!
Nearby, the Gebbite woman unleashes a devastating series of kicks, punches, and elbow smashes at Spica!
The Rock's snowball hit the (technically) FF Black. Ginger's attack hit and the grapple check succeeds.
The Gebbite woman is doing a Flurry of Blows at Spica (using Medusa's Wrath for extra attacks, as Spica is FF). Results: The first attack hits for 14 nonlethal. The second attack hits for 10 nonlethal. The third attack hits for 14 nonlethal. The fourth attack hits for 7 nonlethal. The fifth attack is a confirmed critical hit that does 15 nonlethal damage. The sixth attack is a hit that does 9 nonlethal damage. Total nonlethal damage: 68 (Spica, I think that knocks you out, unless you have a relevant special ability).
Attack # 1 vs Spica FF: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23

Seems like Pai's above the area of Silence.
"What?! Like really?!!" Pai shrieks as the Gebbite chick pummels Spica into the floor. The fact that her pal's attacker can't hear her indignation makes her hopping mad. "Oh, you're going down too, you sorry-looking hind end of a donkey!" The vibrant peach gnome sends an extra-large blast of electricity at the Gebbite's posterior.
Electric blast vs. Touch AC, with Metakinesis (Empower), Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Nonlethal: 1d20 + 15 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 15 + 1 - 4 = 13
Electric damage: 5d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 3, 1, 5, 6) + 3 = 23 x 1.5 = 34 total damage
Spell Resistance, if applicable: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
...and it's a pathetical miss. A book on the shelf behind the woman nearly catches on fire. "Gol ding it!" Pai's enraged antics in the air make it look like she's got ants crawling under her clothes.
Metakinesis (Empower) costs 1 Burn (9 NL damage). Now that Pai has 3 Burn, it triggers Elemental Overflow (+2 Dex & Con) and a 15% chance to ignore crits and sneak attacks. Her header shows the updated stats.

Seeing his friend Spica attacked so cruelly makes Tull mad, very mad.
Free action to enter bloodrage (round 3 of 16)
He calls upon the power of Desna to infuse his axe.
Swift action to spend one point of fervor (4 of 9) to cast Divine Favor on himself.
With the monk closest to himself grappled by the dinosaur, Tull steps forward and lunges at the Gebbite woman.
5' step, Lunge attack at Red, with Power Attack
+3 dragon-bane furious butchering axe, DF, PA: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (8) + 21 = 29

Cornugon Smash: after damaging a foe with Power Attack, free action to make an Intimidate check to Demoralize.

Tull's current AC, with rage and lunge penalties, is 17

"It is never nice fighting a battle in terrain that the enemy set up. Here is some tactical advice to help things." he said before sounding a battle cry to stir the others.
Tactician. Everyone gains Precise strike for 6 rounds (+1d6 damage when flanking. Sound the Charge. +2 to attacks and damage, +10' to charges. Not sure if Pai can hear it

Revolver + Deadly Aim + Flaming & +1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 171d8 + 7 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 1 + (5) = 15 - vs touch AC
Nikita sighs and shoots twice. Yellow or gray, depending on how they feel after the attacks of my allies.
| GM Jhaeman |
Tull's butcher axe is aptly named, as it cuts deep into the Gebbite woman's flank, spraying blood in high arcs through the previously-peaceful library! A second later, the echoing BOOM BOOM of Nikita's revolver shatters all but the magically-enforced silence in the library.
Both of Tull's attacks hit Red, combining for some hefty damage--but she's still up, and the demoralize attempt seemed to have no effect.
Nikita's attack will go against Yellow, the closest. It gets soft cover from Ginger, but one of the attacks will still hit its FF Touch AC.
The Gray pawn went missing :) I've added it back on to where I think it was, but I honestly don't remember.
| GM Jhaeman |
Although outnumbered and clearly outmatched by the Pathfinders' (literal) firepower, the monks of the Unremitting Tide continue fighting!
Black tries to escape the grapple as a standard action. Result: Fail.
Yellow comes to Black's aid, doing a move action to get adjacent and then trying a stunning fist against Ginger.(spending a ki point for a bonus to AC). Result: Miss.
Gray draws and drinks a potion and spends a ki point for a bonus to AC.
Black CMB (shaken) vs Ginger CMD: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 10 - 2 = 15
Yellow Unarmed Strike vs Ginger (grappled): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

"The Rock "
|
The Rock attempts to cover the three monks and the gebbite woman in a layer of thick mud.
Slowing Mud is cast. Fortitude DC 19 to resist otherwise the targets are both blinded and slowed. It is a standard action to remove the mud from your eyes and a full round action to end the slow effect.
I really love this spell. Unfortunately the spell DCs of Druids tend to be low. :(

Ginger decides to try to close her jaw on the grappled (black) monk.

[ooc]Pai is 25' up, along with The Rock, so should be above the range of the Silence effect. I don't know if she's outside your radius, though.

Ginger literally bites one of the monks in half! Horrified looks of anguish appear on the others' faces in the split second before The Rock conjures thick mud to coat them from head to toe! The Gebbite woman reacts quickly to free herself.
Ginger kills Black outright.
Red, Yellow, and Gray fail their saves vs the slowing mud
On her turn, the Gebbite Woman (Red) does a full-round action to free herself from the mud.

Determined to actually hit the meanie who beat up Spica so bad, Pai stretches out her arms with a piercing shriek--pity the librarian isn't here to shush her. Jagged arcs of lightening coalesce around her, absorbing into her skin and causing her to glow with a harsh, bluish-white light. Twisting her face into a snarl (a cute little snarl, honestly, though she'd be incensed if she knew anyone thought so), she aims an extra-thick bolt of electricity at the Gebbite Woman.
Electric blast vs. Red's Touch AC: 1d20 + 19 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 19 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 42
Includes Magnetic Infusion, Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Elemental Overflow, and Sound the Charge
Electric damage: 5d6 + 11 + 1 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 5, 1) + 11 + 1 + 4 + 2 = 34
Magnetic Infusion: Until the end of my next turn, attacks vs. Red made with metal weapons get +4 on the attack rolls. Red gets -4 on Reflex saves to avoid metal objects.
Magnetic Infusion costs 2 Burn, but Pai used Gather Power as a move action to cancel out 1 Burn, and used her Internal Buffer to cancel out 1 more Burn. She takes 0 Burn this turn.
