Ouch... x2

Tiger is shocked but is grateful for Zibini's healing. He slashes at Yellow.

Sir Miles misses, as does Meadow's first shot. Meadow's second shot looks easy to dodge, but the frightened wisp can't move fast enough. Hits Frightened 2 AC. Silence adds a peck to add injury to injury.

Zibini heals Tiger. It is possible that paizo.com just ate your post. It happens sometimes.

Tiger makes a critical punch at a space just to the left of the wisp. Too bad, although, if it makes you feel better, it would not have brought the wisp down, anyway.

The wisp taunts Meadow. "You're not safe hiding back there. I see you."

Demoralize, Frightened 2: 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 12 - 2 = 28

Then it laughs, feeding on her fear. It bursts into light when it feeds. No more flat checks.

With one last chuckle, it tries to jolt Jadran.

Jadran's shield deflects the blast.

Bleed: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Recovery: 1d20 ⇒ 16

The wisp stops bleeding quickly. I just noticed I forgot to make a Dazzled check for the attacks. Since I've already rolled the numbers, I'm adding it now and will retcon if they miss.

Having finally recovered from overexerting himself magically, Zibini takes the opportunity to do it again!

The fact that the enemy seems to be immune to his magic makes it a lot less useful... but it still makes him a better healer. He pushes encouragement and strength towards Meadow and Tiger.

Meadow tries to hide, but the wisp sees her, and her arrow barely misses the frightened wisp.

However, Tiger's fists are true. With a one two punch, he pounds the wisp until it goes dark for good.

--End of Combat!

Evgeni and Ottos surrender in terror once the Pathfinders vanquish the evil creatures. Evgeni tearfully confesses to the entire crime, providing whatever details the Pathfinders ask for. For completeness, I will just post the entire given timeline here, but feel free to ask any questions.

Evgeni Tarsolu is the mastermind behind the theft of the Maid. He lured the Aspis Consortium here with rumors that more bog bodies had been discovered, intending to frame them for his crime. He waited for the Aspis crew to come to town, and then ensured that the locals knew of the Consortium’s reputation for being greedy treasure hunters. Once the Aspis agents went off into the bogs to dig for the (nonexistent) bog bodies, he and his accomplice Ottos Pavlik stole the Maid (one of you correctly guessed he oiled the hinges so it was quiet), hid it in a coffin (which left the box-shaped imprint), and carried it towards the bog (the trail you followed) but redirected to a ruined farmhouse a few miles outside Anactoria (you were not given an opportunity to discover this deception).

While waiting for a caravan to come pick up the Maid, Evgeni took charge of the investigation to ensure that the villagers keep their attention on the Aspis agents and other likely suspects (almost all of the clues you found were red herrings).

---

The Maid’s bloody tears stop after the battle, although bloodstains still mark the bog body’s skin and hair.

The Pathfinders return to the village victorious. The Tarsolu family is ecstatic to see the Maid of Anactoria returned home but gutted by the betrayal of their son. They turn their backs on Evgeni once his guilt is known, and do not speak to him or acknowledge his existence. The town militia takes Evgeni and Ottos into custody until they can be transported to Caliphas for trial.

Before the Pathfinders depart Anactoria, the Tarsolu family gifts them the verdant staff that their family discovered near the Maid’s body in the bog long ago. Treasure Bundles

The success elevates the reputation of the Pathfinder Society in Anactoria and throughout southern Ustalav. The villagers offer the Society a room in town any time they wish it, and also allow them exclusive access to the nearby bogs to look for more bog bodies, if it interests them—though they do not expect any such discoveries to be as unique as the treasured Maid of Anactoria.

My only question is that we were trying to force Evgeni to talk when we first met him and he never confessed. Was it some kind of plot armor? Or rolls I'm not aware of that we failed?

"Plot armor" lol. Basically, that was it. I think you succeeded on the checks, but the information was limited. There was no way to unravel the whole plot at the beginning.

After the fight is over and the real culprits secured Jadran calms everyone down, hoping his strong presence helps reassure Evgeni and Ottos so they can spill the beans without fear of their safety. "Well, your folks are going to be pretty mad, but lucky for you no one in town was hurt." He ignores the Aspis, their greed brings its own karma.

Afterwards he helps carry the Maid's coffin back to the wagon.

"Well done crew. If you ever need another sword arm or a shield don't hesitate to put out the call."

Lazzare is much less nice than Jadran. While going back to town, he won't stop repeating to Evgeni and Otto that they were unworthy of the curse they brought on them and that they should have known better.

Several days later Meadow has a gruesome thought. "Ohmygods! I sure hope those Aspic guys weren't digging up those humanoid bones in order to make their gelatin. Yuck!" She shudders in revulsion.
