The blood comes off easily, and the horn itself is undamaged. Examining it more closely, it has a distinctively demonic appearance. It also resembles the remaining horn on the large statue one floor up.

”That should be destroyed,” Bireli asserts. ”Should we prepare for a journey to the nearest volcano? The stories I’ve read suggest that’s where such things are tossed. The alternative is feeding it to Rovagug. The volcano seems easier.”

Returning to the statue, you can see the remaining horn is similar in size and shape, but is integrated into the statue itself. It's as if the entire statue is a life-size image of whatever the horn came from, and was created to be a resting place for the real horn. The other horn on the statue is just corroded iron, no special properties.

After taking a moment to recover and look around, you make your way back to town. "Henry! Kids! Oh, thank the Hero you're alive!" Ordwi says when she sees you, rushing to envelope Henry in a big hug. "What happened?!"
Ordwi, Vanda, and Elsie sit, rapt, as you describe your confrontation with Meitremar and his foul servants. She winces at the thought of you in battle with the demon, and sighs with pride and relief when you describe Henry's ultimate triumph. "I'm so proud of all of you! You put yourselves in the way of danger to save the day, and by the sounds of things you may have saved everyone! Even if that horrible man hadn't succeeded at resurrecting Xar-Azmak, he could have threatened the whole Kindred Coast. If he had succeeded....well I don't even want to think about it." She squeezes Henry's hand again and says "You kids are heroes!" With a smile she adds "Now...who wants to go home?"
Laden with supplies for the journey from Elsie and a promise from Vanda to lead a a delegation to Osprey Cove to repair relations soon, you set out for home. You pull your hoods up as the light drizzle that's been falling all morning turns to a heavier rain, and in your weariness and eagerness to get home almost don't even notice as the drops slowly begin to turn a deep red....

That's the end! Thanks for playing everyone! I'll send chronicles out once everyone has signed in to RPG Chronicles.
Eventually, he hatched a plot to resurrect Xar-Azmak, even convincing Runelord Belimarius to fund a skymetal research lab called the Vloric Spires that served as a front for his plot. When Earthfall destroyed Thassilon, however, Theiltemar and his laboratory perished in the cataclysm. Over the millennia, the mysterious rusting remains of his laboratory became known as Rusthenge as people settled once more among the ruins of old Thassilon.
When time-locked Xin-Edasseril was restored to the modern timeline, Theiltremar's grandson, Meitremar, set out to track down his grandfather's legacy. He chartered a ship and sailed to the Kindred Coast. There, he took control of Iron Harbor, delighting in perverting a temple of the Lord of Iron. He used the horn of rust to spread a virulent rust disease among those who refused to join his new cult of Xar-Azmak. He resumed his grandfather's research, and believed he was nearing a ritual that could resurrect the demon lord using the horn when you so rudely interrupted!
According to the module, the force field should have fallen as soon as you arrived. However, I wanted to give you incentive and opportunity to do some more disrupting, so I added the bit about colored veins of metal to try to lead you to some more disruption opportunities.
