The dwarf is able to deflect blows from Bireli and Otoro, but doing so leaves him open to a big hit from Puddins. A flicker of fear enters his expression as the blows rain down around him. Success vs. fear -> Frightened 1.

Where to? There are six more doors exiting this room (numbered to make it easy to indicate), as well as the apparatus still spinning in the center of the room.

Demonica thinks this apparatus is some sort of device for harnessing the power of faith. Given the evil look and the amount of it that seems to be made of rusted metal, she suspects it might be tied in with the faith of these cultists. Whatever it is, Bireli is able to carefully disable its inner workings without setting anything off, causing the whole thing to slowly grind to a halt!
Meanwhile, Henry peeks behind one of the doors. Inside, he finds a storeroom covered with shelves on nearly every inch of wall. Several crates and some barrels sit on the floor. A quick search reveals a decying leather pouch that contains 45cp and a single platinum coin, dozens of empty potion and elixir bottles (as well as many more that have shattered into fragments), a single vial of red liquid with a label written in Thasselonian that Demonica can translate as "Poison", a strange looking pendant caked in grime, and a dusct covered pendant shaped like a crying angel.
| Henry Ordwi |
Henry tosses the interesting items back to his companions. "She isn't in here." He quickly discards the vial of poison as Demonica alerts him to its presence, wiping his hands off on his cloak, a bit fearful he got any on him at all. "Do Gorumites usually deal with poison?" He moves on to the next door. Door #2
| Otoro |
| 2 people marked this as a favorite. |
Otoro looks slightly puzzled at the chicken reference, not really understanding but quietly pockets the Poison vial while Henry's back is turned.
It's dangerous to leave things like this around Otoro justifies greed to himself. He also knows better than to leave valuables behind, you never know when a few more coins can cover another meal.

Opening the next door, Henry finds modest chambers that contain a small dusty mattress, a chest of drawers, and a writing desk. Standing upon the desk is a rusted iron sculpture depicting a mountain with a dagger buried in its side. Also on the desk are a ring of keys. The dagger stuck in the small mountain looks so rusted as to be worthless as a weapon, but the magical rune engraved in its side (+1 item potency) looks to be intact.
As you approach that end of the chamber, you can see a padlock hanging from the clasp on door #4, the only door with such a lock.
| Puddins |
"Let's take a moment to search and refocus."
Can we take 10 minutes to do so? Would like my focus point if we have time.
GM Dennis
|
Where to next? There are four more doors, one of which (#4) has a padlock.
GM Dennis
|
Demonica opens the nearest door on the left to reveal another short hallway. A branching hallway to the north leads to a room with several toilet stalls, while a bend to the south takes the hallway to another closed door (we'll call that door #7).
GM Dennis
|
Opening the door at the end of the hall, Demonica finds a workshop, the workbenches, grinding wheels, and cabinets covered in a thin layer of dust. The smell of earth and sweat fill the room. A wheel and locking mechanism is built into the northern wall.
No time to examine any of this, however, as a pair of hooded figures look up from the grinding wheels where they are sharpening their blades as you walk in. Quickly turning their weapons toward you, they move to attack!
