Deliquescent gloves and improvised weapons

If I wear a pair of deliquescent gloves and use a ranged weapon as an improvised melee weapon do I still add the 1d6 acid damage?

So you're wearing the gloves and using your bow as a stick to whack someone ? Or maybe using your musket as a club ? Should work fine.

Pretty sure those suckers 'apply the acid effect' to any weapon, including ranged. So I think you can even wield a bow with them and your arrows will deal the additional 1d6 acid.

That's the idea. The character this concerns is a Spellscar Drifter with Order of the Land, so they get Catch Off Guard for free, figured I would find a way to get the most of it.
