Dreadfang narrows his eyes at the preening twit.

Dreadfang doesn't speak, but it's enough to finally shake the leader's nerve. Aiding Xun helped him beat the Will DC.

Xun turns towards Dreadfang noding with approval, when he spots Shaylas wayfinder

"We were supposed to not show that we are pathfinders!" he scowls

I actually read it before and it did not ring a bell, but wayfinder is pretty much giving away that we are pathfinders ;)

He says she's been killing government officials. She says she's a liberator. Given the kinds of officials they have around here, it's possible, plausible, perhaps even probable that they're both telling the truth.

Liam sighs. "Officials here are so obsessed with order that you ally with murderous fiends because supposedly that's the one thing devils are good for, and they can't even do it? And you'll follow the proper channels after you get what you want, so you're not even doing it either. And this is supposed to be for the good of the people of--" Liam stops abruptly. Oh. He never said "people of." That's not what he meant by "Cheliax," is it.

Shaking his head, Liam shrugs. "All that aside... we don't know who that is. We're not here to rescue her. We had an appointment with a local noble, actually. Though I am curious why you'd ignore apparent lawbreakers--you must find us very frightening.

"...and are you torturing someone with her armor on? Not very competent. Is there a supervisor we could speak to?"

The leader tightens the grip on his weapons. "Full of wit, yet so witless."

Charlies is quiet for the time being. He is not that interested in terms of politics but the situation might help to find the venture-captain that they are looking for.

Seeing that the scene is getting tense, he intervenes, "Okay, so maybe we just calm down first. Who are you and who's this Thrune woman you are talking about?" he asks the proud man. "We are looking for Varian Jeggare. But it looks like he is not here." he says while looking around.

Liam is glad as the confrontation inevitably grows violent.
This guy really sounds like he wants a mace to the face, but they didn't really have enough information to justify deadly force. He also feels they might be giving away too much information, but "You know too much and we have to kill you," certainly wasn't something they were going to say.

They'd been trying to avoid a fight, but it was probably for the best. The bad guys taking the decision out of their hands and forcing their hands simplifies the issue.

Unfortunately, the melee at the end of the hallway is kind of.. in the way. Keeping his shield up, Liam pushes into the room.

Estes ignores Shayla's advice but Charlies is the one pressured instead. "We will all get out here alive." he assures Shayla though his words seem to falter.

With Yellow being flanked already, Estes takes this chance to give it a holy punch while Charlies covers him with his magic aura for protection!

The interrogator in Red seems like he's going to respond when Xun interrupts with a bucket to the the chest. He Reacts and turns at Xun. "How dare you interrupt my retort! ON YOUR KNEES!" Xun feels the overwhelming urge to drop to his knees.

Xun, you can choose to drop prone as a free action, OR take 2d6 mental damage as you resist the command.
