The arrow from Gaius’s bow just barely misses the bug. Evidently having its proboscis stuck in Noemi makes it difficult to dodge attacks.

John prepares to grab one of the wounded, but upon hearing the Pharasman's urging, he instead focuses on the insect. However, his rage has left him, making his actions more sluggish and inaccurate.
Move to retrieve staff; 5 ft. stepMelee (quarterstaff) w/ fatigue: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 5 - 1 = 13

Although not at top form, Cracking John lands a blow on the bug.
Gellion continues to rock back and forth, babbling non-sense.

Azalmak kills the bug and the abdomen explodes in a shower of tiny insect pieces. All the apprentices, Azalmak, Cracking John, Mallycorn and Gaius are all caught in the effect.
Piercing damage: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6 DC 13 reflex to half

Wrap up the combat
While some of you see to the apprentices, a couple of you wrestle and restrain Gellion.
Declaring combat over.

Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Back to back 2s, that's just awesome.
Gaius will use his Wand of Cure Light Wounds on Noemi to make sure she's more than barely alive. He'll also use a charge on himself since he's not doing well either.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Gaius will ask the others with cold iron weapons to join him in cleansing the warehouse of the remaining Demon Bile.
@GM: Do we need to make a Perception check to make sure we have it all? Actually since it's almost the holiday weekend I'll roll it just in case.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

DC13 Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Having no cold iron, Azalmak helps restrain Gellion.
"We're going to get you some help, Gellion."
To his companions he says, "We should bring everyone to the mayor at once. Hopefully someone in town can repair the damage caused by the demon bile."

"Yes and perhaps the guards outside can provide us with an escort to the Mayor's Office so we can avoid the stares, questions, and accusations from the locals."
| GM Bret |
Your group heals the unconscious apprentices and they wake up. Several of them are very hungry, having not eaten in days. Some of them are also drained by the bugs.
Your group binds Gellion with rope. He continues his insane rants about demon worms, mother, and how you destroyed the Demon Bile.
Looking around you find a lot of what looks to be valuable alchemical gear, some spoiled food, some Demon Bile that is still active, and the equipment that was on Gellion.
The equipment on Gellion includes two potions of cure light wounds, two acid vials, three alchemist's fire, a smokestick, a tanglefoot bag, and a thunderstone.
The warehouse's former goods are all ruined and have no value.
Talking to the captured apprentices, they tell you how Gellion has changed. They all are still in disbelief of how he tricked and captured them. They would really like to be taken to the temple for healing and messages sent to their masters and parents or guardians.
The guards can’t leave their posts as long as there is any of the Demon Bile in the warehouse. If that is cleared, they are more than willing to escort you to the mayor or the temple.
Gaius Marius

I'm certain we're cleaning out the Demon Bile in the warehouse.
| GM Bret |
After you have cleared all the Demon Bile in the warehouse area, the guards are more than happy to escort you. Although they appear curious about what is going on, they do not question you.
Is there consensus on where you are going and what you are doing? Noemi needs a lot of help and a couple of the others are also too weak to move on their own.
The guards are willing to help. We don’t need to worry about exact mechanics of transport, just destination.
| GM Bret |
You take the apprentices to the temple of Erastil. Father Ildris Ruvarra is overjoyed to see them alive. He checked the health on each of them. He also has one of the people escort Nolaria to the graveyard so she can retrieve Blackfeather, her bird.
“I expect most of the apprentices will recover completely. They are already being fed and their injuries do not require any specialized treatment.”
“Unfortunately the same can not be said of Gellion. Having inspected him, it is clear to me that the disease is quite advanced. Without some immediate aid it is unclear if he will ever fully recover.”
“I will do what I can for him.”
Relgar
|
Relgar looks around at the others but he suspects that now is the time to visit the mayor and get paid for their efforts.
The adventure is over (for some of us) but we might as well wrap it up with a ribbon. :)
Gaius Marius

“Oh, thank you! Yes, that will help some.”
Anything else you want to do with the temple, or on to the mayor?
"We found this as well Father, perhaps it can help the boy?"
Gaius offers Father Ruvarra the Potion of Remove Disease the group found.@GM: Is there a skill check like Heal, Knowledge, etc. we can try to see what, if anything else, Gellion will need to recover?
Assuming Gellion is somewhat fully recovered (at least physically), Gaius will ask him about the origin of the Demon Bile specifically where there might be Demon Bile the Pathfinders are unaware of yet.
| GM Bret |
Father Ruvarra looks at the potion that Gaius handed over and says “This is exactly what is needed! The boy will still need time to recover, but this should stop the visions he is getting.”
The priest says “If the questioning can wait at least until tomorrow, I would like to give them a chance to recover.”
You head to the mayor’s office.
The office has people coming and going, reporting to the mayor on the search of the town.
When she sees your group, she gives a tired smile. “I heard you found the missing apprentices in a warehouse. Please, I would be interested in your report of what happened.”
No need for a walll of text, I just need to know what information you are sharing.
Azalmak
|
"It seems Gellion came under the influence of the demon bile, he was responsible for abducting the apprentices, although in his ramblings he referred to demon worms and 'mother'. I don't think he was acting on his own here."
Azalmak observes the mayor for her reaction before adding, "Gellion may have been responsible for this, but the demon bile was really in charge. I hope you'll keep that in mind when deciding what to do with him."
| GM Bret |
The mayor looks pained at hearing confirmation that Gellion was responsible.
“Given our history, I expect that many will be calling for a harsh sentence for Gellion. Kidnapping and spreading a demonic substance.”
“I will talk to Father Ruvarra, see if we can’t convince people that forgiveness is appropriate here. Even if we don’t officially punish him, I suspect there are those in town that will not forgive him.”
“Any idea where this Demon Bile came from?”
Mallycorn Tavee
|
The first answer that jumps to mind is "from a demon". So I suspect there might be a strong force of evil around the town, working from the shadows. Unfortunatly, I can't say what kind of demon could create that bile, my knowledge of such creatures doesn't extend so far. Maybe your own local priest can educate you on that matter.

"Unfortunately Father Ruvarra said Gellion needed time to recover before we speak with him. He needs to be questioned as soon as possible in the hopes he can provide us with information on how, where, and when he came into contact with just the Demon Bile or perhaps some Abyssal creature. To be thorough questioning the other apprentices may yield some clues or hints as to what's going on. I know you won't want to hear this either but I suspect more investigation will be required and more work to be done."
Considering his words carefully for a moment, "As for Gellion is there some way he and probably his family can be moved to another village or town? Given the looks we've received for brushing on certain topics I don't know that he or his family will be safe in Saringallow."

“The family are farmers and landowners. It would be difficult for them to move. Majara Pricknettle Was teaching the lad her trade. Best bet might be finding another alchemist who would consider taking Gellion. I’m not sure where we would find such a person.”
She thinks a moment, then says “I will talk with Majara, see if she knows anyone. I know she is quite fond of the boy and would want what is best for him.”
