"Truly you are a hero of old born again!" Karsh'e says to Escher. The half -orc is clearly impressed.
He gathers up one of the tiny pieces splintered from the dog and puts it in his belt pouch. Then he drops his voice and nods toward the door. "Perhaps a more worthy foe awaits."
What is the brave bumbler doing?

Karsh'e wrote: What is the brave bumbler doing? Nothing. Though he's surprised that you actually defeated the iron defenders (mechanical dogs). You can't see it in his face, but he's surprised.

"Well then. Thank you Escher. Is anyone seriously injured?"

"The dogs had no teeth to harm me. Now what do we do? Yonder warforged reeks of corruption. It is only a matter of time before he reveals his true self. "
Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10
So, before you stands the forge of this building. Still in operation. In back of you is the agent of the Lord of Blades, patiently waiting for you to retrieve the schema for him. Somewhere in here lies the schema.
Elf (Aerenal) Cleric of the Undying Court 4 HP 20 AC 20 (T 13, FF 17) Fort +5 Refl +5 Will +8 init +3 BAB +3
Lia slowly steps around the area, looking. Once she has the rest of the group between her and the supposed lord of blades, she pulls the book out to reference what it says to do.
Because i've forgotten what it said. :)
Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10
The book says there is a puzzle to open the the receptacle that holds the Schema. What you see is simple shapes on the puzzle. A square, a triangle, and a circle. One of these shapes will open the puzzle.

[dice=int check] 1d20+1
The triangle is the key, however the other two must be inserted as well.
Elf (Aerenal) Cleric of the Undying Court 4 HP 20 AC 20 (T 13, FF 17) Fort +5 Refl +5 Will +8 init +3 BAB +3
Lia shrugs and starts by placing the triangle.
"Be ready just in case.."

Karsh'e watches over the elf's shoulder. "You could try putting the square below the the triangle. Then the circle below that. It would look a little like the orcish pictograph for hearth."

That might work. Good roll, though.

Lia shrugs, "What could go wrong. I'm sure it isn't trapped." and does as Karsh'e suggests.
Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10
Lia's Reflex Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Lia reflexively avoids the electrical trap. Which does: damage/2: 1d4 ⇒ 1. It will be at least 1 point of damage.

"Okay." The half-orc reaches gingerly for the door to the receptacle and tries to pull it open.

He has a wicked looking longsword, a docent, a crossbow, and twenty crossbow bolts. He also has 20 silver pieces -- of Cyre make.

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10
Yes, some of the treasure is magic. And yes, you can identify it with either knowledge (arcana), Spellcraft, or the identify spell.

Updated Karsh'e. Would like to do some shopping.
2 quick questions:
Did the final messenger fly away on Bumbler's death?
Did each of the four of us get 250 gp for the job?
Warforged Aegis 1/Soulknife 2 | HP 41/41 | AC 22, T 11, F 21 | F 6, R 5, W 6 | Init +1, Perception +8
With 250 each and assuming we get the final messenger, then the shares are each 1483.
If you want to buy items out of your share, the cost would be the same as the sell price:
+1 longsword 1150
light crossbow 17.5
2 flaming bolts 166 each
travel cloak 600
final messenger 3000

The final messenger did fly away on Saber's death.
But I think Escher's calculations were correct, except for the final messenger.
Warforged Aegis 1/Soulknife 2 | HP 41/41 | AC 22, T 11, F 21 | F 6, R 5, W 6 | Init +1, Perception +8
Then we each get 750 less

A week has passed.
=============================================================
Thunder rumbles in the distance as you cross the rain-slick skybridge that leads to Barmin Tower. The rain falls at a steady pace, causing waterfalls to spill over the sides of the slanted rooftops and balcony railings.
Ahead, the door to the House Sivis message station hangs open at a strange angle, one of its hinges separated from the doorframe. Lightning flashes, and you think you hear a groan from somewhere inside the otherwise quiet shop.
==============================================================
Okay Evendyl and Ouachitonian, your characters are found at the door. You also hear the groan from somewhere inside the House Sivis message station.
Elf (Aerenal) Cleric of the Undying Court 4 HP 20 AC 20 (T 13, FF 17) Fort +5 Refl +5 Will +8 init +3 BAB +3
A figure crosses the bridge, a new item called an "Umbrella' over her head.
Does the sun never shine in this damn city!"
As she gets close to the door she slows down and tenses up, "Ah. This doesn't look good."
She looks to the two figures nearby, her Elven eyes narrowing, What happened here?"
Warforged Aegis (Aberrant) 2
A silvery, spike-bodied warforged with a shield stowed on his back and a stinger-tipped tail turns and regards the newcomers. "Unknown. Our own arrival is recent. We were postulating possible options to examine the situation when you arrived."
m LN human Gunslinger 2 | HP 17/17 | AC 19 T 14 FF 15 | CMB +3 CMD 16 | F +2 R +6 W +2 | Perc +7 | Grit 2/2 | Ammo 5/5
What could it be? Is it really a robbery? There has never been such a thing and here it is again. The former guard says this with sarcasm in his voice and pulls out his multi-shot crossbow. I suggest we check it out.
Beren Lonn wrote: What could it be? Is it really a robbery? There has never been such a thing and here it is again. The former guard says this with sarcasm in his voice and pulls out his multi-shot crossbow. I suggest we check it out.
Jacen d'Orien steps to the door, glancing back at Beren.
"I know, right? How very odd that anyone would attack one of the Great Houses! Perish the thought!"
He had dealt with this most of his life ...
