Moved map near to the top of Slide deck.
@Gaius: I don't think you need to use Agile Feet. I don't remember where you were originally. Tan areas are normal terrain. If a square is covered with more than 50% of a type of terrain, treat it as that type.
@Gaius, part 2: You do get +2 to hit from Inspire Courage & Bless, and a +1 to damage from IC.
I sent you a long-winded PM with explanations and corrections with a short version at the bottom listing the adjusted rolls.

Halle double moves, crossing the trunk, and stops with her scimitar and shield up. She assumes her fey aspect, becoming a little harder to hit.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Fey Aspect: DR 1 Cold Iron, Concealment 20%, Darkvision

Gemtoran moves cautiously from the gravelly bank of the stream and, in a crouched position, jabs his spear straight into the minotaur's belly. With a growl of pain, the minotaur's eyes go wide in shock. Glaring at Gem, the beast drops his battleaxe and grips the shaft of Gem's spear with both of his massive bloodied hands.
Time seems to slow all around as their eyes are locked on each other's gaze and the only sound that can be heard by the two are their beating hearts.
*Thump*

*Thump*

*Thump*
The beast's heartbeat slows.
The hulking minotaur slowly pulls himself closer to the Suli, causing the spear to pierce through his back. He firmly grips Gemtoran's head, leaving streaks of blood, and lets out an earth-shaking warrior's roar, causing birds in the distance to take flight in fear. The formidable beast collapses lifeless to his knees, then falls backwards to the ground.
Janira gives a nod of respect to the victorious Pathfinders.
"You... you did it, Pathfi..."
She mumbles softly, then collapses onto her back from injuries and exhaustion, her nasally snoring an indication that she just fell fast asleep.

Huffing and puffing, Walks makes it to the side of the stream and stops, peeing across the streams with a puzzled look on his face.
"Is she... sleeping? She have narcolepsy or something? That would have been an important detail to share."

Lol! I've got a puzzled look, too. Are you really peeing!?! I've had a few beers so far and this is just hilarious.
Walks' impressive golden braid of piss splashes into the stream as he questions Janira's situation.

Well, glad I could help out...stupid stubby legs.... Dorgan says, clearly upset he didn't get involved with the beast.
Wow...she's as loud as my cousin Berdan...he's worse when he's drunk...which is a lot... he says as he examines the fallen beast. He carefully removes the horns.
I know it's a bit gross...but a trophy would be appropriate for the occasion. Might make a fine drinking horn..if a bit small by dwarven standards... he says with a chuckle.
We gonna let her sleep? I can carry her back...

LOL! Meant to type peering. Even if he wanted to pee, I have a feeling it would take more than a round to get the job done with all that armor. Still, the image was worth the typo. Maybe I should make a character that would really do that.

It was a great typo!
Gaius exhales and lowers his head slightly before standing straight and tall like a Taldan should and saying to no one in particular, "Let that be a lesson to all who think the blood of Taldor has lost its power."
After carefully crossing the log Taking 10 on the Acrobatics for a 13., Gaius bends down by Janira to examine her.
Take 10 on a Heal check for a result of 12.
"I think it's a combination of her wounds and the exhaustion of having run from the minotaur for so long. Hopefully our resident shaman will someday make it across the log and give us his professional assessment."

Walks takes his time, looking for a good place to cross and gingerly steps across using is spear as a brace. Walking up to Janira (or limping, depending on how the crossing went with a -3 in acrobatics and swim) he gives her a good examination, curious, but not TOO curious, about a halfling's anatomy.
heal, untrained: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Moving carefully and with each other's help, the group manages to get across the stream.
Janira slowly opens her eyes as she's poked and prodded by Walks and Gaius.
"Ohh. I hurt all over. My wand... Tap me with my wand of cure light wounds."
After a couple taps of the wand, Janira looks and feels much better. With a bit of help, she stands and dusts herself off.
"Thank you for killing that terrible beast. You all saved my life. I kept trying to lead it further into the woods and get away, but the thing was unrelenting. I'll be sure to submit a glowing recommendation for your heroism."
She glances around at the area.
"We should camp here for the night. We could all use a hearty meal and a good night of sleep. I'm excited to hear about what you found in those caves. Let's get camp set up, have some dinner, and you can tell me all about it."

Once the minotaur goes down, Rahu collapses to the ground.
"My dear friend Mr. Giants, could you please use my healing wand on me? It is in my backpack."

![]() |

Walks tilts his head at Rahu and watches as he slowly collapses, his head tilting to meet the gaze of the prone figure.
"Of course."
Taking his wand he revives him with a tap, then turns to Janira and takes her wand and taps her too.
I recommend that both of you allow nature to complete the healing. Magical healing is a bit pricy and I doubt we are in any hurry now that the mission is complete."
Taking out his notes, he shows Janira the drawing he made.
"Some very, very old pictures in there as well as a shrine to the god Aroden, still infused with some residual magic. Oh, and we met a very nice priest at the shrine. A gillman that told us that he makes the exodus quite often, which we all..."
Walks waves to the other members of the party
"... pretty much assumed was the same one you saw enter. Then there was the would be necromancer and the little fey creatures that were not so nice."

"You should commend yourself as well. You survived against such a creature, by yourself, for much longer than most could. Thank you for your kind words about our heroism. You'll note there's three arrows in the minotaur from my bow. He felt the wrath of Horus this day, if only for a bit before he was felled. The caves are magnificent and you may examine my notes and drawings but they pale in comparison to experiencing it in person. Watch out for the pit trap near the entrance; someone lost a magical cloak in it! Glowing fungi lights the cave, you can see the large vermin crawling around, some fey creatures known as Mites were living in them with there pet giant centipede, and there's an wondrous temple or shrine to Aroden. We deciphered some murals to unlock rituals which activated some magic of Aroden's that still lingers in the place...remarkable that all this time, after his death, his power endures. I don't think any of his grand temples in Taldor can make such a claim."
Gaius will use his Wand to heal any remaining damage to Janira and Rahu and tells Walks with Giants, "Mission done? If this should teach you nothing else it should be to expect the unexpected. If more trouble surprises us I'd rather we meet the challenge at full strength. Saving coin will do no good if we're dead and can't spend it."
@GM: Let me know how many charges to mark off my wand please. :)

GM Roll4initiative |

Go ahead and take the average (5.5 per charge, I think?). If you insist on using your own wand, just take two charges off for each person. Scenario is pretty much over; no more combats. Best to use Janira's free wand & items, much of which is on the chronicle sheet.

Taldans are extravagant and want to put on airs so it seems in line for him hehehe.

Dorgan Ironhelm |

Yeah..what he said... Dorgan says as he nods to Gaius. He heads over to the bushes and gets more firewood. He sits down after bringing over a couple armfuls.
Gotta tell you though..we were thinking about helping you with that thing. what a decision...obey an order on our first "official" mission, and you get killed...or go help you and look like insubordinates. Halle here was about to go nuts...

GM Roll4initiative |

You don't know how bad I wanted to tell Halle, "You're not supposed to fight the minotaur at the beginning." It is possible, though, but the mino is at full health with a regular, i.e. not broken, great axe. I've heard of a few TPKs happening when players went after the mino in the beginning.

I haven’t played this mod or GMd it as I don’t do PFS at all in my presence game :) sorry I almost messed up, but the players being heroes, it’s a bit awkward that we’re give a “suicidal” option at the beginning

GM Roll4initiative |

While enjoying a well-deserved hot meal cooked over the campfire, Janira listens intently at the stories you tell her about what was discovered in the caves.
She profusely thanks you for coming to her aid during the battle and for a job well done exploring the caves.
More stories are told by the campfire into the night, until finally, time for some much needed sleep.
------------------------------
In the morning, Janira leads the expedition back to Absalom without further incident. Once safely back in the Grand Lodge, Master of Scrolls Kreighton Shaine inquires excitedly about what the group found and asks to see your notes. He compliments those who recorded notes for being certain to write down ideas and observations while the thoughts are fresh, observing that it’s difficult enough to remember what one had for breakfast the day before as it is to recall exactly what one was thinking while studying an inscription.
The elf is certain to compliment Janira for her guidance and assistance, much to the halfling’s delight.
Three days later, the Master who best represents each of your interests in the Society (Master of Spells Aram Zey, Master of Scrolls Kreighton Shaine, or Master of Swords Marcos Farabellus) confirms you as a full Pathfinder field agent. As part of the ceremony, that mentor also gifts a personalized wayfinder to you, reminding you that this is not only the symbol of the Pathfinder’s trade but also a reminder of the three principle duties: Explore, Report, and Cooperate.
"Congratulations, Pathfinder. Now, let's be careful out there."
~THE END~
I do hope you continue your adventures as a Pathfinder, Halle. It was a pleasure having you with us. Same goes for everyone else; I had an awesome time GMing for you all. Keep an eye out for the other PFS introductory scenarios, among others, I will GM after Gameday Con.
(Still waiting for Dorgan & Rahu to fill out RPGChronicles info, btw).

Woo hoo! Gaius survived to hit L2! And I agree that Halle should keep hanging around us misfits and make us look better. Thanks to GMR4I and all of the players for making this a really fun time! :)
