the eidite does not ping as magical. You did learn earlier that it's probably formed as a result of the Nex/Geb war's magic. You also know that it temporarily improves the functioning of technology, but after a while the technology it's installed in gets unpredictable and dangerous. You know you don't want to touch it, because it's very poisonous, giving a disease, but handling it carefully with tongs is reasonably safe.

You are confident it's safe to move it (without touching it with your skin) into the haversack, and then safe to transport as evidence, so you do so.
