Red's Will Save vs DC 17: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Red resist some of the mental damage from the mind jolt Armin sends against it. Shanti's fiery attacks seem to cook Red alive. Blue quickly runs to Shanti and attacks her with its meaty claws.

Its melee attack has listed damage plus Grab in its text. Afaik, if the attack is successful, it automatically does Grab as a free action, unless I am missing a rule that says otherwise. I can retcon things if necessary. I will also check about Improved Grab.Refers to "last action" and has the action icon itself. :D
GM Frost |
The ”plus Grab” in the bounty text fits in the definition of Improved Grab (free action), rather than the Grab you linked. Haven't checked in the forums if there are clarifications on this that it should be ”plus Improved Grab”. The crab's actions therefore is ◆ Stride, ◆ Strike, ◇ (Improved) Grab, ◆ Constrict.
Omar's shot misses the hard shell of the Blue crab, but Korvelor's magic missiles turn Red into a toast, the crab releasing its grip on Gunthar.

Gunthar smiles as he looks at the fish squirming on his dagger. He turns to see what Kor'velor is talking about and doesn't see the crab until it's too late. He's about to try to pull his leg from it's claw when the creature is hit by the magic missles and releases him. With his dagger already in his hand, he steps forward to attack the remaining crab. Unfortunately, he trips on the dead crab and misses.

I just found some understanding about the Grab and Improved Grab. No retcon needed, I just will not count the damage from Constrict and Shanti is no more Grabbed. I am sorry for the confusion.
Omar, your actions will be noted.
Gunthar misses his attacks, thanks to the dead crab along his way. Shanti fiery attacks connect to Blue and heals herself as well after she moves herself from further harm.

Several judges approach after you handle well the crab threat. "Is everyone all right? Why did the crabs attack? Anyone, please tell."
Armin, Oracle of Life |
"Just a few scratches. I know I've seen worse!"
Armin walks over to look at the body of the dead crab for a moment, then makes a point of tracing the line that the creatures initially took up out of the water and towards Demed.
"I could be wrong, but I think they were attracted to the bait. Must be some pretty powerful stuff."
Kor'velor |
"Yes, I was just describing to my companions on the magical properties of Demed's magical bait and how the fish were just jumping into his basket when the crabs attacked. Unfortunately for us, we stood between them and the magical bait. So we had to deal with them before Demed would have been forced to."
GM Frost |
One of the judges approaches Demed, furious. ”Explain what happened. You used a magical bait? That's cheating!”
Demed scratches his head from embarassment as he explains. ”Yes, I admit it. I used a gem from a staff of enchantment to lure more fish in this competition. I found beforehand it has a crack but I tried it before and it worked well. I never thought this would happen. I am sorry.”
”You never thought?!” the judge says with exasperation, slapping the palm of her hand to her forehead. ”What you were even thinking?”
Deka chimes in. ”I apologize what my brother did. It was childish. But I hope he still be allowed to continue in the tournament without his magic bait. And reduce his score if better. Just let him continue in the tournament, please.” Deka pleads the furious judge.
”But did you see what happened? That very act endangered the participants. If not for these brave heroes here, we could all probably be hurt. As a consequence, it is decided that Demed is disqualified in this tournament.” the judge says with a stern statement, with the nodding of other judges for approval.
Kor'velor |
"Now wouldn't it be better for the tournament if he would be allowed to continue with the competition but maybe minus the fish he caught this round? He was pretty even in count with the competition up through round 2. Even though he used this gem, he is not proficient in the knowledge of magic to know it would have caused harm. He created a bait just like many of us though it was with a flawed, cracked, magical gem. The flyer rules stated magic could be used. What would you have thought if I had cast a spell to summon a large predatory fish but it broke my enchantments and started attacking? For the Vidric Values of Solidarity, let him continue."
Diplomacy (U): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (3) + 0 = 3
Arcana Knowledge (T): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
"By the way, do we get credit for the giant crab?"
Guess diplomacy didn't work. They can put an asterisk by his name if he does end up winning. Lol!
Shanti the Healer |
Nature: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Armin, Oracle of Life |
"After all, it was quite a clever use of the staff. And points for trying it out beforehand, rather than bringing it here untested. Shame it went awry, but we're none the worse for wear. I say press on!" Armin chimes in cheerily.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Well, phooey.
Any GM Coins floating around for a reroll? :D
GM Frost |
Kor'velor has a point on using magic, explaining it very well. But the judge counterpoints that by doing so unwisely imperiled the participants and the crowd. The judges gathers together to discuss the matter by whispers.
After a while... "We decided to let Demed continute in this tournament, but most of his catch due to what happened will be forfeited. And thanks to the new challengers here, we award you 1 point for your courage!" Deka is very happy and gives thanks to the judges. "We are now in the last round of the tournament. Do your best and win! Round 4 begins!" The crowd begins to cheer wildly again.

Gunthar Visk |
Gunthar lets the others speak to the judges to explain what happened and to advocate on Demed’s behalf. Pleased that everyone gets to continue, he follows Armin's lead and also uses the crab meat for bait.
Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
GM Frost |
Armin improvieses a bait from the crab remains and hungry fish gets attracted to it. Shanti gets the attention of the crowd while Armin do some stealing from other's fish baskets. Kor'velor continues shooting with his shortbow and catches some while missing some. Gunthar follows to do the same bait as Armin does, but turns out to be not just as good. Omar, meanwhile, do some fishing with some shooting. He gathers his catch as they float on the water.
The twins approach your team. ”Thank you very much for what you did today. Such impressive heroic act..”
Before they could continue chatting, one of the judges begins to speak and gets your attention.
”Finally, the tournament is finally at its conclusion. Today has been an eventful one that will be remembered. And for the scores, Team Deka got 12 points, Team Demed has 6 points, while Team Pathfinders got 20 points, which means Team Pathfinders won the tournament!
The crowd roars cheerfully as you are declared the winner. You are awarded with 4 gp each and given the title Silver Sovereigns. The judges even invites you to defend your title on the next season's tournament.
