Stitch manages to get Meat back up and running and you continue your journey.
The hike continues for four days, with Urwal leading you past a draconic graveyard, over streams, around waterfalls and up into a mountainous section of Finadar Forest. Anyone foraging finds game and edible plants in abundance. You occasionally catches signs of far-off wolves, bears and the occasional lone centaur shaman who waves from the distance but never seeks to directly engage with you or the wandering Urwal. Urwal seems peaceful so long as he moves, but struggles if you stops his movement for more than a few minutes. Occasionally, he falls over with exhaustion and sleeps for a few hours, but always tosses and turns. Unless secured, Urwal rises in the middle of the night and starts walking.
If he's tied to one of you or another light object, Urwal drags these slowly behind him. At night, to prevent him from wandering off, you tie Urwal to a tree. Urwal at first lays out pebbles or leaves in the pattern that haunts his visions.

On the fourth day, dark clouds and a pungent tang in the air signal a looming storm. Heavy rains fall in earnest, soaking you. Lightning strikes parts of the forest and sets the blood-red pines ablaze. Before you can successfully run for cover, a smoky fog pours over you. As the smoke clears, you see a manifestation of Urxehl’s demonic realm of Verakivhan: a burning forest lashed by terrible storms. Shortly after entering this new landscape, you notice that Urwal is nowhere in sight, and any ropes they might have lashed to him now hang loose and empty. A centaur from the prior tests, Tombu, arrives.
"Urwal is not here. He’s so far off in his own world I could not transition him."" The centaur grins wildly, backlit by another flash of distant lightning. "The demon lord Urxehl bids you welcome to this small portion of great Urxehl’s majestically burning Abyssal realm. You are nothing but twigs of tinder in the face of my lord’s great power! So long as these fires burn, you will never see home again!""

Nicole manages to hold her breath against the smoke. She hurls a cold vial at Pinky, which hits and puts out some of the rat. Khiari's tree drops on it and turns its head to paste. Actually, it made the save but the damage was enough
Nicole drops to the ground and rolls but doesn't quite smother the flames.
Vardarel shoots some healing energy at Tombu, who manages to grit his teeth against the pain. He still roars as some of his flesh burns from the 'gift'.
The GM then bonks Vardarel on the head for using a Starfinder term... (first time I saw Guarded Step, I went nuts trying to find it) :)

Clover drops a lightning bolt onto Tombu's head. Tombu is temporarily fixated by the bolt before he falls over in a heap. Stitch yelps as he gets small shocks from the electric sparks dancing up and down Meat's metal shell.

Nicole desperately throws another vial of ice into the smoke but doesn't hit anything. A soft sizzle is heard as Old Yeller is hit by some of the vial's contents, but it's obvious that it wasn't the full bottle. Nicole continues to try to smother the flames with dirt but one burning spot is out of reach.

She does manage to hold her breath against the smoke, however.

Vardarel's Nature (T): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
Old Yeller is a cinder rat. These oversized rodents are made of smoldering charcoal and elemental fire, and noxious fumes continually bellow from their flaming flesh. They're vulnerable to cold (obviously!) :)
Vardarel finds out what Old Yeller is and sends Nicole some much needed healing.
