A green humanoid creatures steps out of the trees. He says “You can bow down now before the King of the Woods.

He then causes what little plant life there is in the area to attempt to grasp and constrict around you.

Khiari, entangled and slowed by the vines, only gets about 5 feet towards the rest of the group. "As a reminder, most fey are not bloodthirsty hunters who demand tribute!"


Ah, thank you for recognizing just how special I am!” the creature boasts.

Khiari struggles to move closer to the others in the party.

Moving surprisingly fast, Fran manages to dodge the grasping plants and moves out of their immediate reach. Now able to more or less see what they've been talking to, she squints and tries to recall if she knows anything about such a creature.

Fran easily evades the grasp of the plants. She is close enough that she can just step out of the area.

Looking, she doesn’t recognize the creature. She renews her magical shield.

Nicole is also able to evade the grasp of the plants, but it does interfere with her aim. Still, the creature is caught in some of the splash. Her crossbow bolt also misses.

Stitch gets his pistol out and fires. Although it was a good shot, the creature just barely evades it.

Clover gets completely immobilized by the plants. They wrap themselves around her up to her chest.

She fires off a chilling ray at the creature but it hits the branch of a tree.

Clover is pretty sure this is some sort of fey, but doesn’t recognize what type of fey it is.

The King of the Woods moves through the woods to Roark. It has no problems moving through the trees and brush. It claws at him with both claws. The first claw hits hard, the second misses.

"Out in the clearing?!" Clover says, tugging on the vines that have her completely stuck in place. "That's easy for you to say! I'm kinda stuck here!"

But as the Immobilized effect only lasts one round...

Clover abruptly feels the vines releasing around her.

"Oh... never mind!" She kicks away the entangle effect, then casts a healing spell on Roark. "Stay in the fight, Roark!"

◈ Then she slowly steps away from the entangling plants.


Bella Sidare's Nature (T): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

Other than some sort of fey, Bella doesn’t recognize this creature either.

She struggles to get to the edge of the entangling plants, Khiari right behind her.

Roark tries his dance with no effect. He then retreats and raises his buckler to protect himself.

Clover manages to get free of the plants long enough to heal Roark and slip past Meat Wagon. Her magic is strong enough to completely heal her ally.

Although the plants are wrapped around her, Nicole manages to escape them. She then gets to the edge of the grabby plants and lobs a bomb at the King of the Woods. It misses, but some of it does splash him.

Stitch and Meat Wagon are both having trouble with the weeds. Stitch tries to get himself out of the plant’s grasp but finds himself stuck. He does take a shot at the King of the Woods, but misses.

Clover once again heals Roark and then moves out into the clearing.

The King of the Woods gestures and a thorny wall rises from the ground, separating Bella from the rest of you. Those who don’t want to go through the wall would be forced to climb the rocks or go through the forest.

I had seen it but somehow failed to update my scratch sheet.

Nicole gets caught in the weeds and throws a couple of poorly aimed bombs. Deciding that wasn’t working, she reloads her crossbow.

The King in the Woods stands up. Looking around, he decides to go for Bella. “Seems you are separated from the rest of the sheep.

As soon as he is in reach, Bella slashes at him with her cold iron dagger. Unfortunately she misses.

He responds by attacking with his claws, slashing her.

The trees seem to step aside as the King quickly makes his grand entrance. Bella's swing is too high and the King retaliates in kind.
