Tusk Two-Blade wrote:

(flat footed since blind?)

The Lady Morilaeth suffers –2 penalty to Armor Class and loses her Dexterity bonus to AC for being blind. However, the first attack still misses. However, as it is not within 5 or less, it does not destroy the copycat.

Second strike: 1 Lady, 2 Copycat: 1d2 ⇒ 1

Korum is surprised by the sudden assault. "Got a little piss 'n vinegar in ya, dontcha? Alright, yuh had yer fun. Time fer you ta bleed out all over the floor."

The time arrives quickly and the mite (red) drops.

Merisiel the Pregen wrote:
Meri sneaks in opposite Korum and tries to skewer the foe caught between them.

The elf joins the fight just in time to skewer the final mite (purple), as it emits a bloodcurdling death shriek.

The shriek seems to cut through the revelry and merriment of the remaining mites and derro in the room. Stopping their dancing and debauchery, they collectively turn and see, in horror, that the Lady Morilaeth has fallen. In mad desperation and fear, the remaining mob panics. Rushing in various directions in a flush of sudden chaos and need, the creatures retreat from the room retreat and flee deeper into the nearby passages in a dash to disappear within the Darklands. The creatures leave tossed goblets of some black mixture into the area, leaving pools of the substance in their wake.

COMBAT OVER

The yellowed bones of a long-dead dwarven man lie draped over a chair in a corner of the gallery. An iron signet ring with his rune still sits on one bony finger and a rusty iron bracelet still holds fast to a bony wrist. A set of finely-crafted artisans’ tools, the chisels and implements of a stoneworker’s trade, lie in a satchel by the skeleton’s bony feet.

Any PC may attempt a Heal check in an effort to learn something of note.

If you search the bracelet:
You find a hidden compartment that holds expensive looking pearls.

If you search the mites' bodies:
You find that each has about a dozen darts, a pair small short swords, and a set of well-made thieves' tools. Each was wearing studded leather armor, now thoroughly soiled.

If you search the Lady Morilaeth's body:
You find she is wearing a blackened silver holy symbol of Lamashtu, a silver necklace, a silver ring bearing Lamasthu's symbol, and a well-made breastplate over noblewoman's robes. She has a buckler, a dagger, a fine-crafted longbow, twenty arrows, a cold iron rapier, vial of antitoxin, 4 parchment pages filled with Lamashtu holy scripts, and a spell component pouch.

I could not find a clear ruling, but it makes sense to me that Lady Morilaeth's aura or frightful presence would end with her death. Therefore, I concluded, that for her to successfully feign death, that those abilities would cease functioning.

I started typing out a lengthy dissertation about the difficulties/ concerns about having this feign death special ability written into a PFS villain's morale conditions, particularly in light of a scenario's success conditions and the limitations/expectations that come with running via PbP, but I've decided to spare you all.

"You will discover all--when you dream of ME!" screams the blinded nightmare creature in response.

Her attitude began as quite hostile and she has a positive Charisma modifier.

Tusk goes to work and the deed is swiftly done.

Feigning death may help you avoid a wild animal, but it is probably not the best strategy under most circumstances.

No...I think I'll be dreaming of much better people than you... Meri says as Tusk dispatches the foe. She grabs the doorpicking tools as a backup and hefts the rapier.

I'll take the Perception check result, but use it for something else.

Merisiel finds no traps, but she notices a slight gap in the stone, discovering a secret door.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

Looking further, she uncovers a second secret door in the chamber.

In all, there are four exits from the chamber now identified.

Each marked on the map with a number:

1) Steps down, 2) Secret door leading to an empty shaft, 3) Secret door leading to another stairwell, 4) Bedroom and the way you came in.

Which do you choose?

Tusk looks on with a fair bit of surprise as a couple of new doors are presented to him. You think he would be used to it by now. Seems like every mission they send him on has a secret door or two. It's just that, well, he has a tough time spotting them.

"Well, how about that. All three of them lead down, though I think I would prefer using stairs over climbing down a shaft."

He's not wrong. Korum wipes miteling juice off his blade. "Stairs are fine by me. We may wanna block off these hidden passages just ta make sure nuthin' comes up behind us." He looks around the room for anything heavy enough to stop the door from opening.

Or we could use furniture from the bedroom.

After the inspection of the hall:

I agree! I suggest we go down the stairs that were behind the secret door, and the rest of the exits need to be propped up for now.

Easy peasy to block the doors...just give me a moment or two... Meri says as she grabs the mites' weapon and jams them underneath the doors.

I can get through doors..and also make it so others can't... she says with a sly grin.

i propose we jam up the secret doors...and head down the stairs...
