The large-headed, blinded creature falls.

If you loot its body:

You find 12 darts, 2 small short swords, a suit of studded leather armor, a set of masterwork thieves’ tools, and a key.

The remains of the other two, blue-hued creatures are equally lifeless.
If you loot the two bodies:

You find a that each had a dagger, six darts, and a few personal items, consisting of non-magical talismans and trinkets likely gathered from underground passages and the gallery.

Assuming you search the room…
Several small, beds are found hidden among the heaped debris in the spaces below the floorboards.

A pair of matching ivory-handled swords are lying amidst the debris in the southeast room. Also, a number of manacles lie about the room.

Two corpses lie discarded in the midst of the broken machinery in front of a door along the southeast wall. Door is now marked with red triangle on Map.

Bizarre, agonizing growths protrude from the limbs of another prisoner, a dwarf. The growths cause the man to cry out in pain. Scars, the result of old floggings, cover his torso, and are slightly obscured by new welts and cuts.

Chained to the wall opposite the other two is a Chelish man. His scalp sports jagged scars and he’s unable to speak, though he moans constantly.

Examining the unusual growths, Goldur concludes they are the result of some unholy infusion of magic and the local underground fungi. “How long we have been held here? I cannot say,” Lyrehawk replies. “What is the span of time of agony? How many sunsets pass as one lies darkness? We have been held here for several months, at the minimum, if I were to hazard to guess.”

“As for why? Our own bravado, I suppose,” laments the elven woman. “And because it pleases the woman who whispers nightmares.”

“I served for a time among of the Aspodell Rangers. It was within the mountains that I met a dwarven prospector by the name of Torvic Scrathmane. By all accounts, he is descended from the renowned dwarven craftmaster Barek Triongger. He was seeking his ancestor’s lost workshops, reputed to lie beneath the Aspodells.” Lyrehawk explains, recalling a time that while, perhaps not too distant, was far more pleasant. “Torvic’s drive was impressive and he convinced me that he could, in fact, find the Gallery of Wonders. He was able to convince Jorlin and poor Merisk of the same and together we joined Torvic’s foolhardy expedition.”

“Armed with only a bare handful of clues to inform our quest, just some tattered manuscripts and an unusual luminescent pearl, we ventured among the Candlestone Caverns. Though having only fragmentary descriptions of Barek Triongger’s Gallery of Wonders, Torvic was convinced that the Gallery lies within the labyrinthine caves winding beneath the Aspodells.” she continues. “The quest was not without setbacks. One night, just as Torvic sensed that we were closing in on the Gallery, a thieving vagabond visited our camp before vanishing in the night with Torvic’s heirloom pearl and the manuscripts remnants.”

“Despite these losses, we still managed to locate Barek’s hidden hall. If only we hadn’t, perhaps then?” Lyrehawk pauses, her eyes grow wide as if she had found herself suddenly alone. After taking a few deep breaths, she continues, “We may have discovered the Gallery, but we were not the first to have done so. “

“She is called the Lady Morilaeth—a cruel creature, a worshipper of nightmare—she possesses the terrifying power to reshape dreams and to bring them to hideous life!" Awe and fear pervade the woman's words. "She had claimed the craftmaster’s shadowed galleries and we found prisoners within Barek’s workshops. The Lady and her derro thralls subjected us to inhuman tortures and vile fungal concoctions muddling our memories, depriving us of rest and slumber, pushing us towards the brink of madness.”

Maybe we can rig up a litter or something to help carry the more affected ones? Meri asks as she looks around for anything that could be used.

“I am eager to leave, as you may have gathered. I remain quite weak, but the promise of freedom provides strength. I believe I can get out on my own, and help the others, provided there is a clear path between here and the entrance to the Candlestone Caverns.” Lyrehawk replies. “Will you be accompanying us as we leave this forsaken place behind?”

Tusk waits patiently trough the long-winded story, growing bored after several seconds when there is no mention of battle, only mind games and wizard weirdness. When she stops, Tusks mind replays the last thing she said and he snorts.

"Leave because of a madwoman suffering from bad dreams? I think not!"

"Yes, the healing helped, but I am afraid more will be required before we would be capable of rendering any aid."[/]b Lyrehawk responds. Where to next, Pathfinders?

I know these are tough times, but I hope this post finds you all well.

Where would the party like to head next?

Bugger me! I thought we were waiting on the NPC's for some reason. Apologies.

Korum trusts that the elf knows what she's talking about. He takes note of the door in the corner. "I hate the idea of leaving something unchecked behind us. Good way to find a knife in yer back." He hunches over and takes a look for traps and the like.

Trapspotter 10' {Perception}: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 {+1 for traps=21}

It looks terrible... although I can imagine worse things. The pale girl finally gave voice. Let's go further, through other doors. I would like to see this gallery. And her mistress. Here the girl swallows and you realize that despite her bravado, she is scared. Of course, if you imagine yourself in the place of these unfortunate people and anyone will feel uncomfortable...

I moved the token on the map to the next door, but I won't open it myself ))

Korum finds no traps and the door, carved from translucent alabaster and shaped into delicate arabesques to reduce its weight, can eventually be made passable.

The passage before takes a sharp bend, before eventually terminating in a similar door of translucent alabaster.

Breaking down the door requires a (DC 18) Strength check. Also, the door has Hardness 7 and 15 hp.

Map and location of Korum's token now updated.

How do you wish to proceed?

Meri goes to back up Korum and checks the door with her keen elven eyes.

Fidgeting a bit he offers, "You know I can take care of that thing in a few seconds if it gives you any trouble."

Even through the alabaster door, Merisiel's sharp ears detect activity, a series of scratches and clicking noises. The door does not appear to be trapped, but it is stuck.

Do you wish to accept Tusk's offer to handle the door?

Meri points to her ears to show Tusk there is motion on the other side. She moves out of the way to let him handle the door. She takes out a dagger ready to throw it at any new target.

Tusk cracks his knuckles and gives the axe a few experimental swings. In spite of his personality, Tusk's combat style is more one of finesse than brute strength and is pretty sure any attempt to force the door open would just result in a sore shoulder. Besides there is something satisfying about using his adamantine toy to break things up. Making sure his axe is sharpened well, the takes a full bodied swing at the door near where it is stuck.

To hit Orc double axe: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Damage, adamantine, whetstone: 1d8 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 11 + 1 = 20
