Chimwemwe
”Assuming Asanda designed this manor, then maybe look in here?” Chimwemwe suggests as he points to the obvious door. ”Though the serpentfolk could have altered the place.”
GM Doug H
You open the door and find steps going down just a few feet… and another secret door is. Nothing to hear on the other side.
Akoril
Akoril nods to Chimwemwe "Next door too whenever you're ready."
Chimwemwe
"You have devoted more time to architecture than me so I'll trust your instincts," he responds.
GM Doug H
Akoril's Perception (T): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 Low-Light, Scent(30)
Wisps's Perception (E): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21
You open the secret door. This room is several feet lower than the one you were just in (likely this half of the mansion is); a wide double door leads west. Drums, wooden flutes, marimbas, and other musical instruments float in the murky water.
Soomdevi detects magic in the room ahead — which looks like a once-grand ballroom. Once-fancy mildewed tapestries hang on its walls scent. Several drums and koras float on the water’s surface; there's even a pair of boots which look brand new, even though thy've been in the water for months.
Akoril
Akoril points out the boots "Lets make sure to grab those at least."
Akoril will also follow up with Detect Magic (4th)
Soomdevi
|
"I don't like all this water. Do we ant to wade through and check those doors?" Soomdevi points to the wide double doors leading west.
How deep is the water?
GM Doug H
Hard to tell, but the muddy water that has spilled in is probably waist-deep. Call it deep bog as the flood has been here for months and brought silt and plant life in with it.
Soomdevi looks in the water for danger and doesn't notice anything. Nor do Akoril and Wisps, who have also been Searching this whole time.
Chimwemwe
Oh, I see. We didn't open a door I thought we opened.
"Given Salthiss' mannerisms, I doubt he waded through muddy water every day to gloat and torment Asanda," Chimwemwe says. "The mayor-magistrate is probably through those other doors."
Alrinkiri
"Agreed" Alrinkiri says, eyeing the water warily. "Let's look elsewhere for now. We can come back here if needed."
Soomdevi
|
"But, don't lizardfolk like the water? They started this flood on purpose for some reason or another."
I'm not sure which doors we meant to go through but Soomdevi will follow.
GM Doug H

2d20 ⇒ (17, 7) = 24
You open the door. Two of those tough-looking, stony-skinned creatures are standing guard just inside, and they immediately attack having been suspicious there was something afoot. They have longspears at the ready.
Those of you near the door see a woman tied to a chair in the corner. Help! Help! she screams.
