I would say that the way that it is set up, you would be left out of a majority of play. It doesn't look like they accounted for any information to be gathered that way...

Remember the rules of Etiquette. I think we already broke one by reaching over food possibly. We are also not supposed to ask questions right after meeting someone.

Einhard Allendorf |

In hindsight, I guess I should have checked to see if new outfits inherently meant +mask. Otherwise I think we missed a chance to describe the masks everyone is wearing while fulfilling one of the rules.
I guess depending on the answer to this, Einhard may start to look around to see how this can be corrected... because if we didn't grab them, we all probably stick out pretty badly.

Garrett Goodbarrel |

I assumed that we bought something that fit the dress requirements.

Yes, you all have masks... I am sorry, I forgot to have you all describe them. You may do so now, if you'd like.

Garrett Goodbarrel |

Garret would have a wooden kabuki style mask with a bright white and yellow, red and orange painted motif.

Zhang Yunjiang |

Ok, I actually thought I had described it, but it seems I forgot. Matching his costume, Yunjiang's mask resembles a forging eye protector - a rectangular piece of steel with a crystal stripe to allow some vision.

Einhard Allendorf |

Since wolves are the only legends worth mentioning in Kartakass, Einhard will go with this wolf mask.

I have put a link to the Rules of Etiquette in the Campaign Tab, along with a reminder of the PCs as you are a new group.

Think of any direction of conversation you want to have with your respective partners. It can be abstract, but I need to know how you bring up Radaga, if you do at all.
Anyway, I will be gone from tomorrow until Monday, so it will give you some time to think on it.

Shoot, I am sorry, but I think I overextended myself with running this game... I will try to continue for as long as I can, but I am starting to feel it.
I will try to have a post up by tomorrow.

No worries, mate. Like you said, life comes first... I just feel a little more responsibility as DM... ^_^

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Sorry, today was busier than I had expected, and I am running Mythic Odysseys of Theros in a face-to-face game for the first time tomorrow. If I have time, I will post something on Sunday, but if not, I will continue on Monday!
I apologize for struggling so much with this one. This genre is really not my forte and I am really having trouble piecing this one together. (My fault for also running an Epic to start...)
Afterward, we will have to have a talk about the next Ravenloft modules...
Have a nice weekend, folks!

Technically, I should have given you all level 2 after the ball. I missed that part. Go ahead and level up!

Garrett Goodbarrel |

I am sorry to hear that Aldous. Take care.

Rather than the usual Adventurers League Logsheet, you have an Investigation Journal:
Parties are always fun... except when they're not. I trust that the food, fashion, and friends in accompaniment were to your liking. As entertaining as it can be to rub elbows with the elite of our fair domain-- though as you no doubt found out, none of them were actually that-- it was on to more important tasks.
Your keen wit led you to the clues you needed to locate Radaga's apartments. Unfortunately, she wasn't home when you came calling. That isn't to say that you didn't find important clues, though.
I'm eager to dive into them and see where they lead.
Yours in reason,
Alanik Ray
p.s. - As usual, the item that you found along the way is safe and sound at my chateau. I pray that you'll let me know if you need it in the future.
Magic Item:
Rotsalve
Thank you guys for playing, and I hope that you had fun! Sadly, I don't think I will continue running this series. I really didn't enjoy it, and it really isn't my kind of story. I thought it would be something very different.
*Rotsalve functions as Keoghtom’s ointment which is found in the Dungeon Master’s Guide. This salve is made of rendered humanoid fat. The putrid scent of the ointment attracts the ire of the undead, and for 1 hour after a creature receives the ointment, attack rolls by undead against that creature are made with advantage.

Garrett Goodbarrel |

Thank you for running. I had fun. Although I kind of wish I had a bit more Charisma. :P

Thank you! I still think I could have done a better job, but it is always difficult adapting an epic for one table...

![]() |

Thank you! Sorry I don't have it in me to continue running. It is a monetary investment, as well as an emotional one that I am not willing to make.
I hope to play alongside you all in the future, if I am not already!
