Oops! Sorry. That post I wrote asking about our plan was meant to go here in discussion.

Bot Elbe since the player hasn't posted in over a week?
Zzorn

One week into Round 1, Zzorn still waits patiently for his turn! :)

@GM Erich, I'll be trying to identify the enemies on my next turn. What Knowledge do I need to roll?
Paxal Twixt
|
Yeah. A successful knowledge check would be quite helpful.
Zzorn
|
Are we in the plane of shadow? if so, I'm stumped, 'cause there's now 'Knowledge: Shadow' that I know of! :P
Igor Ivantoe
|
The majority of extra-planar creatures are K-Planes. This one is no exception. :)
Paxal Twixt
|
Yeah. Knowledge (planes) covers all planes of existence; Air, Earth, Shadow, etc...

Shouldn't I get a perception check against the chain warrior's stealth to detect it sneaking up on me?
GM Erich
|
There was a stealth check (and perceptions from everyone - last Saturday) when he last moved. Nobody spotted him at that time. So he was hidden from you. Then on his turn he moved from the hiding place to you and attacked.
Paxal Twixt
|
I should still get a perception vs. its stealth when it comes out of hiding and approaches.
GM Erich
|
You are right, I found Jason Buhlman's post about it, here is her stealth 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
Paxal Twixt
|
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
Lol.
It's also right there in the Perception description.
Perception has a number of uses, the most common of which is an opposed check versus an opponent's Stealth check to notice the opponent and avoid being surprised. If you are successful, you notice the opponent and can react accordingly.
Can you post link to J.B.'s post?
Thanks!

I was just mistaken that starting a turn in stealth did not guarantee it until the attack was made.
Breaking Stealth When you start your turn using Stealth, you can leave cover or concealment and remain unobserved as long as you succeed at a Stealth check and end your turn in cover or concealment. Your Stealth immediately ends after you make an attack roll, whether or not the attack is successful.
Here is a relevant thread that mentions J.B's thoughts.

I just discovered that a Zen Archer gets Weapon Specialization with bows at 6th level. I did an extra 2 points of damage against the red chain slave.

I like the animated torch icon. Very snazzy! :)

Looks like things are just about in hand, just waiting for Malik's post to sort out what all happens this round.
Since we are nearing the end of the scenario it is time for you to make your Day Job rolls...
Also, I have everyone listed as normal XP progression. Let me know so I can start preparing the chronicles.
Paxal Twixt
|
Aww, man. I should have known this was the final battle. Gotta make use of Perfect Strike & ki points now.
Anyway, here's my day job:
Paxal works as a night watchman on the Grand Lodge's grounds.
Profession (soldier): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Igor Ivantoe
|
Igor will brew some potions for cash.
(26 on Craft-Alchemy with a Take 10 for 50 gold)
Notos Cyd
|
Notos dances for her day job
Perform (Dance): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
Zzorn
|
Zzorn sees to his estate's finances upon his return.
Knowledge Nobility, Day Job: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (8) + 23 = 31
Zzorn also receives a Wayfinder from his father: to his surprise, the old man had not just been a simple squire and blacksmith!
Inherited (3 PP)
A mentor or older relative who was a Pathfinder passed this wayfinder down to you, and it keeps a minor enchantment from its previous owner.
When purchasing a wayfinder enhancement that would normally replace the wayfinder's ability to cast light with the ability to cast a different spell, the wayfinder retains the ability to cast light, allowing it to cast two different 0-level spells.Diamond Inlay (5 PP)
This wayfinder features intricate ornamentation of inlaid diamonds. These gems may not be used as material components.
Flashing a diamond inlay wayfinder grants you a +2 circumstance bonus on Diplomacy checks made against aristocrats and merchants allied with the Pathfinders, but a -2 penalty against those who oppose the Pathfinders.Messenger (5 PP)
This wayfinder functions as normal, except that the user may cast message at will in place of light.
Purchases in this scenario [GOLD]: Pathfinder Pouch (1,000gp), Wayfinder (250gp)
Purchases in this scenario [PP]: Inherited Wayfinder (3 PP), Diamond Inlay Wayfinder (5 PP), Messenger Wayfinder (5 PP)

Sorry, incoming.
[dice=Prof. Herbalist]1d20 + 5
Huh. Might as well not roll.
With a +5, just always Take 10 on your Day Job. Guaranteed 15 gp.
-----------------
Paxal returns to Malik's herbal kiosk with the bag of herbs he purchased from his friend a few days earlier.
I don't know about these, man. I did what you said. Ground a handful of 'em up with some fresh goat's milk and peppermint oil and spread it on my face. It didn't take out the wrinkles.
He leans in close to Malik as he points at the wrinkles on his face.
See?
I was seein' crazy colors and chasing giant butterflies. Then I walked into a wall that I thought was a magic portal and almost broke my nose. Next thing I know, I'm waking up in Drandle Dreng's office completely naked with Venture Captains standing over me...
Can I have my money back? Keep a gold piece as a restock fee.

@GM: based on the pic of Golbrier Frosh you put on slide 4, Zzorn is going to attempt the following for Season 10 SC Faction Goal:
"Recruit a named NPC ambassador, aristocrat, noble or similar figure to cooperate with the faction with a successful Diplomacy or Knowledge (nobility) check (DC = 14 + your character level + 3 for each of this goal's checked boxes)."
Since Zzorn currently has 2 boxes checked out, the DC is 26:
Knowledge Nobility DC 26: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (4) + 20 = 24
GM 4-star reroll: 1d20 + 20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 20 + 4 = 37

He is an ambassador/agent for the Whispered Song, so that's appropriate enough in my opinion. As far as his fancy appearance, that is only due to him being a bard. :)

"I should charge you more for that. Keep the money. I'll sell the stuff to some- ... one else."
"By the way... You know any goat herder in the area?"

That does it, folks. It was a pleasure to have run this for you, I hope you all enjoyed the strangeness.
I have reported the game and your chronicles are located here. Let me know if there are any issues.
I'll leave the game open for a few more days if you want to role play your way out. Good luck in all your next adventures!

Thanks all for the game, especially Erich for running!

Much appreciated everyone! thank you for your spotless GMing, once again, GM Erich.
I am somewhat saddened that this was perhaps one of your last offerings for PF1E; if you want to delve into the PF1E Adventure Path sanctioned content or modules territory, if you haven't done so, count me in as a much eager player for any of those, as always.

That was a really cool scenario. Thanks a ton, GM Erich. You did a wonderful job!
Thank you to everyone else for the fun time!
Chronicle looks good.
For my Faction Journal Card, was that book of secrets I recovered a "named text", and, did we "Recover a named minor artifact" during the adventure?

The book was more just musing on pain techniques and not named but I know the shadow obelisk (short-lived as it was) was a named minor artifact. Although it was destroyed, you had it long enough to examine it and describe the situation within the Cairn (which was a demiplane made from the essence of the Shadow plane btw) that it could be useful with regards to your faction objective. The prisoners could help fill in gaps with what they saw and experienced as well.

Awesome. Thanks a ton! Gonna check off the recovered minor artifact box. ;)

Special thanks to @GM Erich for another great scenario. I am definitely up to play in pretty much anything you want to run, although I have credit for a lot of scenarios.
