Rossby's hammer hits the thug on the head and demoralizes him! Ezekial can also slash across the man's leg!

Tess opens the door and sees a warehous with an open access to the water that is used for loading wares. Nobody is in the warehouse and there is a closed door to the west.

Althea continues speaking to Vinius from across the room as combat continues around them "Phlegos is not the paragon of strength he makes himself out to be. You are ripping apart families by participating in this disgusting and illegal practice! But I have faith you can be better, make the right decision. Join us, and we will put in a good word for you during sentencing."

Althea blade only hits the man's clothing!

The leader moves to flank Althea and the other person next to her tries to cut her with his scimitar but misses.

scimitar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 91d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

The thug in front of the paladin is also too distracted and cannot hit.

scimitar: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 4 - 2 = 41d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

The last thug moves forward to reach Althea.

Seeing Althea quickly be surrounded, Ezekial calls out, Rossby, can you get in there and help? Considering the terrible options presented to him, he quickly spins a backhand with his scimitar at the thug in front of him, hoping to move on if he incapacitates the thug.

Nonleathal attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Question about the right side of the map - where it ends, are we assuming another wall or something along the edge?

Althea curses under her breath, and shoots Rossby a "sorry to abandon you" look before running out the door. There was NO way she was going to let Vinius get away. As she runs out the door, dodging attacks from the slavers, she yells "I'll be right back! You've got this, right?"

Due to Althea's Mobility feat, her AC is 22 from AoOs provoked by leaving threatened squares.

As I am going on vacation and these guys have no chance against you, and you have Vinius conrnered, I am calling this fight!

After Rossby hits the guard so hard that he only sees stars and their leader is already on the ground, both thugs drop their weapons.

Also Vinius sees that there is no possiblity to escape and gives up!

The goblins have everything under control in the other building!

Inside the gang house you find some papers on a table.

They include substantial incriminating evidence against Phlegos Dulm, such as lists of people to bribe and businesses to harass. You think these documents are necessary for Roderus and Wulessa to prove Phlegos’s guilt.

You also find several stacks of coins in very specific amounts which correlate to payments entered into the books, pretty much proving that Dulm was paying bribes.

There are also receipts on the table for a variety of seemingly innocuous ingredients.

Craft-Alchemy DC 15 OR Heal DC 20:

Yeah, mixed together these are the ingredients you would need to turn Bloodleaf Residue into an ingested poison. Just like the poison that almost killed the bards.

Vinius, once she stops shaking looks at you.

"Please do not hurt me! You Pathfinders are a cruel bunch! Dulm has a PLAN, right, did he send you here to eradicate all evidence before he vanishes? He lost all his money and is barely skating by on his wits alone trying to figure out how to stay out of jail! He doesn't pay me enough and now I have to die here!???!"

~ ~

The captives look nervous, but agree to come with you.

Your goblin friends scamper ahead, and arriving back at the Fine Traders you find Yigrig ready to usher you inside and out of sight of the street.

”Well, my friends, I hear you’ve had an eventful evening! And you even brought our friend Ms. Borr with you, how nice! I suspect her testimony will go a long ways towards freeing poor Zig, isn’t that right Vinius?” Borr looks miserable, but sullenly nods.

With the Goblins’ help, you escort the rescued captives and the captive Vinius back to Roderus’ lodge, where cleanup is mostly complete from the party.

Roderus agrees to help transport them safely back home to Absalom as his last act as Venture Captain. He also agrees, once the evidence has been presented, that young Zig should go free and Vinius should take his place in jail for her part in the plot.

She tells all she knows about Dulm, and a warrant is issued for his arrest, though he seems to have slipped out of town during the night. Roderus also uses the evidence to have Dulm formally expelled from the Pathfinder Society.

Wulessa and Yigrig, meanwhile, have a long conversation, the result of which is a new mutually-beneficial partnership is formed between Yigrig’s business and the local Pathfinder lodge, now headed by Wulessa.

A grateful Yigrig gives you a chime of opening as a symbolic gift for freeing the slaves, and tells you to call on him should you ever need help in this town.

That’s the end! Thanks for playing, I had a lot of fun. I’ll get your chronicle sheets only after my vacation on July 25. Gold is 1855 in 4-5 and 1187 out of tier.

Althea assures Vinius they are not here to kill her, but to ensure Phlegos Dulm is held responsible for the crimes he has committed. "The more you help us, the more willing we will be to put in a good word for you in your sentencing. And, of course, let you live." she adds as an afterthought.

Althea is remarkably kind and considerate to the newly released captives, making sure they get a bath and some clean clothes and delicious food before making the journey to Absalom. She also records details of each of their names, home villages, and immediate next-of-kin to try to reunite them with the life they had before, and set them up for success in their new life of freedom.

She also makes sure to befriend Wulessa before they leave, as having access to other information experts makes her job much easier. It's all about networking, baby!

Althea makes sure to thank Yigrig, Lobda, & Zig for their hard work and integrity. "To be honest, I had never met a single goblin like any of you before. You are inspiring, and I am glad to count your 'family' as my friends."
