Any possibility we get to know what the curse was? I was tempted to use Calm Spirit, but, haunts are similar to traps. They cause a debilitating effect, then usually go away. Best to save calm spirit for an actual incorporeal monster.

I wondered it you'd use that.
In this particular case it is A Good Thing that the scenario is unlikely to inflict the haunt on an entire party. The enchantment effect is short lived, but nasty. The curse is permanent, and very nasty. I'll gladly give details of both at the end of the scenario.
The best news is that both Inga and Rallas passed both saves :)

Hm, 'permanent' is such a strong word... are you sure you wanted to use it? I mean, Grunjar has remove curse prepared... ;-)

Who wants a bit of luck for the third segment?
I have nowhere else to be... ;-)

Thank you for the offer Rallas but to use it I would need two UMD checks. DC 29 to Activate it and maybe a DC 30 to emulate the 15 Wisdom to use the scroll since it is not on the Bard or Ranger spell list.
Grunjar

I'm not sure if we have enough clues to act already.
If there are three checks at every location possible, we only have one third of the clues so far.
On the other hand, if we get attacked regularily by the haut, we should definitely hurry up!
Opinions?
Grunjar
|
Just for information:
Grunjar should be able to cast breath of life from the scroll without trouble.
I just have to make a CL check vs 10, right?
| GM supervillan |
Grunjar would need to make a CL check vs CL9 for the scroll of Breath of Life.
Inga doesn't need a check, she already is CL9.
There are not 3 clues at every location, there's a total number of possible clues available. You're limited to three investigation checks per day (per PC or team of PCs).
You do have enough information to go and investigate the effigy site as soon as you want to.
Inga Blücher
|
Breath of Life is on my spell list, which is nice.
Inga tries to stay out of combat as much as possible. She sends Klaus to do the fighting.
I say we go investigate the effigy. However, I'm also fine if any of you would like to collect more clues.
Since we are currently at the inn. I can try to get another clue while we're here before we head out.
| GM supervillan |
You can certainly have another go at gathering info at the Inn before you head off.
You could also try Stonefire Supplies if you're thinking of buying equipment, and it's one of the locations of interest.
And you can go investigate the effigy site immediately after these actions, if you so wish.
As soon as three of you agree on a course of action, that's what we'll do.

Let's do it. I'm in.
| GM supervillan |
If anyone wants to try getting info from Stonefire Supplies during the evening 'segment', they should head there now and you can all rendezvous before heading to the effigy site (if you still want to).
Otherwise the store will be closed by the time you're done with the Inn.

I need you all to be aware of this:
I prepared spells mostly for healing (and not for combat) today. If you think we do not need the buffs, e.g. protection from evil(!), we can certainly go tonight.
I personally think it would be better if we go tomorrow in the morning.
In that case: Which spells would you like me to prepare?
Inga Blücher

I have a wand of Protection From Evil.
Prepare whatever you want. I would suggest spells to negate bad conditions. Do you have access to Blessing of Fervor yet? That's a good one. I'll take a look thru the cleric list for suggestions.

Blessing of Fervour is level 4, so Grunjar doesn't have access.
Unfortunately that is correct. BoF is definitely on my wanted list for 4th level spells.

Searing Light is a good one.
Remove blindness/deafness, liberating command, remove sickness, remove fear (which also removes the shaken condition from Intimidation!), Shield of Faith.
Align weapon, divine favor, calm spirit, grace, silence, spiritual weapon, weapon of awe.
Chain of perdition, Daylight, invisibility purge, prayer.
These are some of my must-have cleric spells. Stock up on scrolls & wands.
Check your chronicle sheets for partially charged wands. Especially of cure moderate or serious. I don't have one on any of my chronicles, but wish I did.

Your team of Pathfinders sponsored J. to join the Pathfinder Society. In exchange, she is eager to assist you on one of your future missions. You can direct J. to cast a spell from the spiritualist list as a standard action. The spell's level can be up to 1/3 of your character level (minimum 0). J's caster level is equal to your character level -3 (minimum 2), and her Wisdom score is 17. She is a non-combatant and she is considered to be in your square for the purpose of determining the origin of her spell. When you use this boon, cross it off your Chronicle sheet.
So, Junia can cast up to a 3rd level spell at CL 6.

Hm...is there a maximum number of spells that she can cast? Or you could have her cast protection from energy (cold) six times - just before performing the ritual?
It's a 3rd Level spell with a duration of 10 min./lvl.Would be a strong buffing opportunity... ;-)

Thanks a lot for the suggestions!
No Calm Spirit or Burst of Radiance for me, unfortunately.
I planned my spell slots for the morning, please take a look:
Level 3 (3+1): Fly; Daylight, Invisibility Purge, Remove Blindness/Deafness
Level 2 (5+1): Aid; Align Weapon, Grace, Remove Paralysis, Silence, Sound Burst
Level 1 (5+1): Expeditious Retreat; Liberating Command, Protection From Evil, Remove Fear, Remove Sickness, Shield of Faith
Level 0 (4): Detect Magic, Read Magic, Guidance, Create Water
Any suggestions to alter the spells above?
Alternative Domain Spells:
Fly / Prot. from Energy
Aid / Locate Object
Exp. Retreat / True Strike
Currently, I do not have much gold to spend (went shopping already), but I will stock up on scrolls and wands as soon as I can...

Junia Dacilane is a one time only boon.
(I do like that Inga is roleplaying Junia as a protege it's very fitting).

Bless is an important 1st level spell that benefits the whole party. Maybe get a wand or scrolls of Protection from evil and have bless on spell list. Got any good partially charged wands on your chronicles?
There's a silver crusade faction vanity in the Pathfinder Society Field Guide that gives Protection from Evil on your wayfinder.

Bless: I thought the morale bonus on saves is obsolete with a bard on the team?
Partially charged wands (all above my current budget):
Daylight, Invisibility, Greater Invisibility, Gust of Wind, CMW, Lesser Restoration, Shocking Grasp, Ray of Enfeeblement, Burning Hands (CL3), CLW (CL3), Soundburst (fully charged)
Thanks for the tip, but I do not own the Pathfinder Society Field Guide - yet. Will look into it.

Bless and Inspire Courage don't stack for the save vs fear (both Morale bonuses) but Inspire Courage provides a Competence Bonus to attack and damage which stacks with Bless's Morale bonus to attack.

I just went through all my chronicles again to look at & update my chronicle boons on Inga's profile. Turns out Sun Orchid Sleuth was only usable twice and 1/scenario in Thuvia. I think I did only use it twice in this scenario. Anyway, both boxes are checked off now.

Me, too. Edit: It just happened with this post, too. ;-)
But you can check if the forum accepted your post (not sure if that works on mobile, too):If the number in the address bar of your browser is one higher than the number of the last post displayed, you just have to refresh the page (sometimes more than once). Just move the mouse cursor over the date/time of the last post to see the number in the link shown in the status bar.
Maybe it shows that I work in IT - always trying to solve (first world) problems... ;-)

Let's talk tactics! :-)
Nearly all of my buffs last for 6 minutes. Shall we start with the buffing now or later?
Inga Blücher

Maybe have someone scout ahead first to see what they are then report back. Oh! Klaus can go through walls and Inga can activate a special link to see what he sees and hears.
Maybe have one of the guys with better stealth scout.

Grunjar can look through walls and doors, too! :-)
(as long as they are not thicker than 12 inches)
Door Sight (Su) You can lay your hand upon any surface and see what is on the other side, as if using clairvoyance. Using this power takes 1 minute, during which time you must be touching the surface you want to see through. You can keep looking for as long as 10 minutes with each use of this power, but must touch the surface and take no other action the entire time. The surface cannot be thicker than 6 inches plus 1 inch per cleric level you possess.
You can use this power a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier. ===> 9/day

It turns out the circle needs to be moved first. Apparently, the icons for the PCs are underneath it.
For some reason the undo button sometimes doesn't show up or it's in a separate menu and I can never find it. I only use my phone for everything.
I don't own a computer (gasp!).

@GM supervillan: Is there no save against the negative level?
There's a save to remove the negative level after 24 hours (preventing it becoming permanent) but not to avoid acquiring it.
I have seen the occasional GM ask for a save to avoid acquiring a negative level, but usually that seems to be a result of only reading the monster's stat block without checking its abilities.
