Unfortunately we have acted for you a little and you are down a few bombs. Also keep in mind a little bonus I gave a few posts ago which lasts for the rest of the '9 Lessons' dungeon.
As thanks for returning and giving me another shot to run this game, I'm going to give a sort of combat advantage. For each room/lesson that remains you will each get 1 free reroll for any d20 that you roll. This should help us get through the lessons slightly quicker and to Thorn's true plan for you.

I've been botting you in Morthos's post and between me and Cardinal, we've only launched 3 bombs. But I quit throwing them because you only have so many. I did not want to burn them all on these cobras.
@Barnabas: Note to self: ALWAYS find a way to set up flanking for Barnabas. Man, you DEFINITELY need a "dancing" partner with the damage you could potentially dish out. First chance Morthos gets, Outflank for the win. :)
Ya it definitely helps. With the number of feats we get, I was looking at the dimensional door feat chain, so I can eventually flank with myself.
In the short term though, I'm really enjoying the grapple - blood sucking angle. Thematically cool and CON damage is pretty strong. Of course, less useful when dealing with constructs...
Man, Dimensional door feat chain is freaking awesome. I had a monk that was building up to that until the game died. That is absolutely freaking cool.

Yes! This is it exactly. We've just encountered a creature that hamstrings the majority of us. Fortunately, this is an anomaly.
They do have annoyingly high AC and some DR so I understand the frustration. Ivy was doing quite good damage at the start with bombs thanks to their low touch AC and no magic resistances.
Hopefully I will not put something that is impossible or too annoying to fight that none of you have an answer for. Thanks for the feedback.
Hey, honestly, it's just part of it. I believe 98% of the time we will all be able to contribute in one form or another, no prob. But every once in a while we're going to run into something that's just gonna be a bear to beat. It happens.
Heck, if it wasn't for Barnabas, we'd be in BIG trouble. FoB is huge. Getting two attacks a round is beautiful. Morthos only hits, like, maybe once every other time. Every third time maybe. And then if he doesn't roll high enough damage then he does practically nothing.
Barnabas and the electric elemental are pretty much the key contributors to this combat. Oh, and Ivy's cackle. That's pretty key.
Morthos's purpose is really for flanking. That's it. Unless he crits which is RARE. Got to keep setting up Barnabas for that flanking for sure. :)
I think its fine. At present, I just don't have very many bombs/spells you see, and I need to save them in case the thing in the centre animates into something really scary. Its just a temporary problem, at the level we are at, but I don't think it will be an issue in later levels.

Another update, hoping to get posting speed up so i've repeated everyone's actions from last round that didn't post yet. Hope we can be a bit more faster getting through this long battle.

@Barnabas: Can you not flank with the elemental? Is that legal or no? I'm not sure how that actually works with summoned creatures. Is it a summoned creature? I don't even know. :P
I actually moved Morthos to his spot to flank with Timeon so you could flank with the elemental, Barnabas. If it is legal, then you would have another +2 to hit. (Not that you need it with that awesome roll). :)
@Lady Sophia: You ought to think about attacking one of the ones we're not attacking so you won't have to take that stupid -4. Man, I hate that -4 garbage.
Just a thought, though, nothing more. I just hate for you to keep having to take that -4 because I know how annoying it is.

Sorry, I didn't respond sooner, Sophia. It's been a brutal several weeks at work and I've barely had the energy for much of anything.
Hey team. Recently I had been considering merging my 2 remaining groups into a group of 5 or 6. I decided against that and am instead recruiting more for the other group (they were down to 2).
Currently this group is down to 4 (Morthos, Demian, Barnabus, Sophia) posting recently. Ivy and Razmir have dropped off. I think this team would be fine to continue as 4 but there is another player who has asked me to return to playing after also being absent for a while.
If nobody minds, Eowithe will return here and join you again soon.
