Gameday IX runs from September 1 to November 10.
Please read below for some information on how I run my tables. By getting everyone on the same page, we can make the game run a lot more smoothly :)
Some ground expectations
1. Try to post at least once a day in order to keep things moving. If you are going to be unavailable for an extended period of time, please ensure that your deck handler is linked and available for other players, and provide instructions so that other players can bot your turn. I recommend putting the link in your alias Profile, in the Class line. Wrap it in the url tags so it turns into a link -- see "How to format your text" below the reply box for details on how to do that if you aren't sure
2. Do not wait around for my scenario update posts, just base your turn around the most recent update plus what other players have done since then. I'll get a scenario update out at least once per day unless there is nothing to update. I'll have other (non-update) posts interspersed throughout the day as needs require. If things are very confusing and you feel you need an update, please ping me on Discord so that I'm aware.
3. There are no take-backs or retcons, with exception of invalid plays/turns. Use resources wisely, and keep in mind the other perks you get in Organized Play such as accessory re-rolls and hero points.
Things that make gameplay smoother
1. If a location is shuffled, you can continue to examine or explore cards in it by rolling a die to see which card you examine/explore. No need to wait on me to post an update first with the shuffled deck.
2. When encountering a card, be very explicit in what card you are encountering. This helps other players at the same location know where you left off so they don't accidentally encounter the same cards that you just got through and have to re-do their turn.
3. Use your Notes section to describe any cards or powers that can be used to assist other players on their turns and that you are willing to use. If you post that certain cards are available for use, have the card text available somewhere for other players to reference.
4. When something impacts another player (a power that affects all characters at your location, or you're playing one of their cards), bold that thing so that it stands out.
Things that make deck upgrades smoother
1. Write a list of your 2-5 most desired deck upgrades, in order, and roll 1d1000 for each of them. If you have any conditions on the upgrade, such as "I'll take this only if nobody else wants it or if my planned card X is better than anyone else's planned card" make a note of those as well.
2. That will let us look through those lists and see how we can get everyone their #1 preferred upgrade without lots of times lost in back-and-forth. If people are fighting over an upgrade, the d1000 roll is used to determine who gets it (highest roll wins).
3. You are free to disregard this and discuss upgrades normally; but try to keep discussions to 2 days at most so that we can move on to the next scenario in time.
Discord
There is a discord server set up for this campaign, click here to join it. I will need to manually add you to the private channel for the table, as discord's invite links don't let you directly join a private channel. Joining is entirely optional, but highly recommended; it typically speeds things up a lot when people can @mention each other and have an interface for chatting that is easier to use than this discussion thread.

I'm looking for a bit of a challenge and I noticed the table was melee heavy so I thought I would bring along a caster.
Specifically S&S Alahazra. Though I'm not sure how tier 7 is possible if we gained our 6 XP a tier 6 already.

It looks like you signed up for Hawkmoon’s table, not mine. Check the spreadsheet and find the right link :)
As for your question, the special can be played with # from 1 to 7, and characters must be within one tier of #. Since characters can’t go past tier 6, that means a table with #=7 only accepts tier 6 characters.
Once your character reaches 6 XP in tier 6, you’re limited as to what scenarios you can play:
Characters cannot advance beyond Tier 6, but may continue playing scenarios in any one adventure 6 adventure that character already started, in any adventure 7 adventure, or in special scenarios designed for all tiers.
Tyrant of the Harrow is a special scenario designed for all tiers, so there are no issues bringing in a “retired” character for it. Hope that helps!

Before playing this adventure, choose whether you wish to count it for purposes of tier advancement. If you choose not to count it, you do not gain hero points for completing scenarios, but you do earn scenario rewards and deck upgrades as normal.
Once seated at the table, begin setting up the first scenario, but do not read any scenario’s story banes before playing, and don’t begin play until the table coordinator tells you to start.
When you complete a scenario, report whether you won or lost to the table coordinator; you may replay the scenario until the table coordinator calls time. If you do not complete a scenario before the table coordinator calls time, you did not win or lose it, and do not earn the scenario reward, but players can upgrade their decks.
If your character is dead at the end of a scenario, you may play another character for the next scenario.

During This Adventure: While setting up, set aside all non-Harrow blessings from the vault; if you run out of Harrow blessings, shuffle them back into the vault.
Regardless of challenge mode, build Small locations, then shuffle a blessing into each location, and create the hourglass with 24 blessings. In Heroic challenge mode, add the location designated in the scenario with an “H”, and after creating the hourglass, display the wildcard The Harrows next to it; whenever the hour changes, the wildcard of the matching suit takes effect until changed. In Legendary challenge mode, also add a random Perils wildcard and a random Onslaughts wildcard.
The harrow suit is the hour’s suit.
When a character acquires a Harrow blessing, report its name and suit to the table coordinator along with the challenge mode you chose.
When you would discard a non-Harrow blessing for its power, bury it instead; when you would recharge it for its power, discard it instead.
When you fail a check to acquire a Harrow blessing, you may shuffle it into your location.
When choosing deck upgrades, treat Harrow blessings as level #.
During This Scenario: When a Wax Construct is undefeated, shuffle a non-closing henchman Wax Construct–Proxy B into a random open location.
If The Theater is closed, and the villain Balimar and Balio is not cornered, build a new location The Theater and shuffle a closing henchman Wax Construct–Proxy A into it, then report a “Stage Clear” success to the table coordinator.
Other rules that are a surprise :)
Danger: Wax Construct
Villain: None
Closing Henchmen: Wax Constructs - Proxy A
Dazed: You may explore only once per turn and you may not examine locations. If this scourge is displayed at the start of your turn, at the end of the turn, shuffle your hand into your deck and remove this scourge.
Drained: On your checks, subtract 1 for each die rolled. At the end of your turn, you may bury a Divine boon to remove this scourge.
Entangled: You cannot evade or move. When your location is closed, remove this scourge.
Exhausted: On each check or step, you may play no more than 1 boon. At the start of your move step, you may end your turn to remove this scourge.
Frightened: When you encounter a monster, suffer 1d4-1 Mental damage that cannot be reduced. When your location is closed, you may remove this scourge.
Plagued: At the start of your turn, each other local character must succeed at a Constitution or Fortitude 5+# check or suffer this scourge. At the end of your turn, succeed at a Constitution of Fortitude 3+# check or bury the top card of your deck; if you succeed by 5 or more, remove this scourge.
Poisoned: After you reset, recharge a random card. When you would heal any number of cards, you may remove this scourge instead.
Wounded: At the start of your turn, discard the top card of your deck. When you would heal any number of cards, you may remove this scourge instead.
