Constantin is delighted to discover that the book actually exists and hustles forward to examine it with Muddy.

"This wretched farce may have some purpose yet!"

Muddy and Constantin examine the book--it really is Memoirs of the Silver Brotherhood!

DC 12 Appraise check:
Crud, it's a worthless fake!

Meanwhile, One-Eyed Farl and Zukka (the elderly Osirion man) emerge from the cave and rejoice that Lady Riverbane has been slain.

Muddy flips through the book with Constantin.
I don't read very well. Words mixed together with other words in long lines of words - hard for me to understand. Would be better if Pop-Up book.

Muddy takes a closer look at the covers and some of the pages, especially the pages with illustrations.

Gurp! Muddy croaks in disbelief.
These pictures are drawn with crayon! Not ink. Book is fake!

What should we do with book now?

I'll put book in my pouch and show Venture Captain Bosk when we get home.
With a disappointed look, he tucks the book into his bag.

After Farl and Zukka exit the cave, muddy approaches the two haggard pirates.
Can you help us sail the boat back to Daggermark? Now that Riverbane is dead, you two probably need good jobs. Pathfinder Society has good work and good pay if you want good adventure.

Remembering his faction mission, Muddy turns to the Osirion man.
Oh! Mister Zukka. You are from Osirion, right? I was given message to tell you "Ruby Prince forgives you and wants great alchemist, Zukka Nephmet, to return back to Osirion. You are welcome to return home". Me thinks you were important person there. If you're interested, there is Pathfinder Lodge in Osirion. Pathfinder Society pays experts like you very well. I'll put in good word when I get home. He says with a wink and a grin.

Tears of joy come to the old man's eyes when Muddy offers the Ruby Prince's forgiveness. One-Eyed Farl growls, "That Riverbane sure got what she deserved--I only wish I had a part in it! But thankee all the same. And you can bet your breeches we can sail any ship we spy."

Following your own tracks back to the river, you make it to the Scrag Fisher without further incident. Two pirates still on board plead ignorance of the Lady Riverbane's treachery, and readily offer to take everyone back to Deadbridge.

Once there, the Black Marquis listens to your tale. He's shocked at first to hear of Lady Riverbane's actions, but smiles and nods when you tell how she ended up dead and left to rot. "Well done, Pathfinders, well done! Your reputation is well-deserved. So the book turned out to be a fake, eh? That's a shame. Well, tell old Istivil such is the way of the River Kingdoms. If nothing else, your involvement in this affair helped free the region of a dangerous ettercap menace. Hopefully, that’s worth a quick mention in a Pathfinder Chronicle. No?”

And that's a wrap, folks! That was a fun, fast game. Suffice it to say, you smashed through the opposition and completed the primary and secondary success conditions. Thanks for the good role-playing. I'll get to work on the Chronicles and post a link in the Discussion thread when they're ready. In the meantime, please feel free to do any last RP you'd like.

Mivvy shakes her head, "What a waste, these boots are ruined!"

After a beat, she laughs at her own joke, "Well, if you ever have any interesting artefacts show up, real ones, in your domain, think of your friends in the Pathfinder Society."

"Well, it has been an honor to travel with you all. May the road rise up to greet you and the wind always be at your back, and may the sheltering arms of Iomadae guard and protect you all."
Orst slowly walks away from the group whistling a sad melody.
"Hopefully our paths will cross again. I will adventure with you anytime." over his shoulder and with a wink.

Thanks for running, GM Jhaeman. I enjoyed the scenario thoroughly. Hope to see you all around on the boards. Stay safe.

I had much fun and good time with you all. Muddy sticks out his little webbed hand and shakes hands with everyone.
If any of you ever visit Darkwood Vale in north Andoran, I have nice cozy cabin you can stay. I hope to adventure with any of you again.
Muddy slings his pack over his shoulder, sticks a long reed of grass in his mouth, and struts off towards the sunset.
