Looking at the map again, I think I might have named the wrong target in my dice tag? I want to attack the leader, which looks like maybe is the one with no border? I can reach her too, so please adjust accordingly.

Tristan awaits the proper moment to act. He notices Caliban casting, so the Inquisitor waits for the results before casting Shield of Faith and moving through the line of enemies. He actually does draw his new magical mace! He looks annoyed!
AC 21...AoOs incoming...lol!

Wrath of the Righteous | Iron Gods

No worries, Greta, I figured since that's what you wrote in the attack's flavor. And wow, hitting on a 2!

Greta's longhammer arcs up and down, crashing into the leader of these mad knights. The attack comes so fast that she can't even throw up her shield in defense, and the strike is accompanied by the sound of tortured metal as her breastplate nearly caves in. She's sent staggering by the blow, unable to respond in kind. From the rear of the party, Massielo's magic washes over his allies, bolstering their strength.

Caliban, color spray is a 15-foot cone, and the leader (aka "no border) is 20 feet from your current position, so you wouldn't be able to get her and Blue. With a 5-foot step to the west, you could hit Red and the Leader with your spell (since Tristan wouldn't have moved into the target area yet). Is that what you'd like to do?

Going to wait until we can resolve Caliban's spell before moving on.

Caliban's powerful display of magic crashes over and through the knight immediately in front of him, knocking the man unconscious even as the elf's blade finds a gap in his armor. The leader of the mad knights, however, finds a way to push through the spell's effects and remain standing, even as injured as she is.

Another knight steps up to place himself between Greta and his commander, forcing her to block a powerful slash of his longsword. He recovers just in time to score a hit on Tristan as the inquisitor forces his way through the melee, succeeding where his comrades failed. 10 damage

Junior's punch is intercepted by her shield, and she steps back to quaff a potion from her belt as two more knights step up to join the fray. Junior blocks a sword from one of them with his own shield. Benedic, his attention split between the enemies on each side, is less fortunate and his defenses slip at the wrong moment. Radiance, acting seemingly of its own volition, interposes itself between Benedic and the other knight, blocking a powerful overhand swing that could have been the end of him. 7 Damage to Benedic

The knight who had fired his crossbow drops the weapon, and decides to test his mettle against Tristan's defenses. He draws a longsword as he steps forward and thrusts it forward, but even wounded the inquisitor is a walking fortress.

Selann's magical glue covers the knight's armor, leaving him clumsy and slowing his movements. A string of curses accompany his attempts to break free of the goo.

One of the knights flanking Tristan delivers a powerful slash to his back, snarling "Bite your foul tongue, demon-worshiper!" 10 more damage.

On the other side of the melee, Greta ducks and weaves her way through, hunting the leader of the knights. She catches a glancing blow from a longsword for her trouble, while another bounces off of her armor. The interference slows her down just enough that her intended target evades what could have easily been a killing blow. 6 damage Meanwhile, Massielo and Caliban launch their own attacks, striking hard even as the oracle feels the life flowing out of him and to his friends.

The knight entangled by Selann begins striding toward the halfling, murder in his eyes, leaving himself exposed as he rushes forward with a clumsy swing. Does no damage to Selann, but provokes an AoO from Greta, Benedic, Junior, and Massielo.

Wrath of the Righteous | Iron Gods

Massielo, here's how I'm accounting the damage I wrote up: Tristan already took the 5 damage before your turn came up, like Benedic. Since Greta was higher in initiative and posted her action before you, I played that as that damage being taken by the time your turn began. Since Tristan and Benedic are still both hurt, you'd have 11 points of damage coming up on your next turn (since Greta would only have 1 point of damage remaining).

Ok, so I need help keeping track of that. I have been using the mini-sheet next to the avatar faces, so Tristan is theoretically 27/17 HP (does this mean he is 10 below par?). @GM: The life link only activates when they are 5+ HP below max, so Greta being 1 below max doesn't activate it.

Wrath of the Righteous | Iron Gods

Oof, you're right. Sorry, I was also reading about the Life mystery for the 2e Oracle and got the two things mixed up (and got both wrong on that particular point, incidentally). And yes, I think Tristan is putting his current HP to the right of the divider rather than to the left. He should be down 15, though, since your Life link has only triggered once so far, he took the 20 damage between your turns.

As the entangled knight staggers forward, both Greta and Junior take advantage of his lowered guard and wound him seriously with their spiked gauntlets, though his armor deflects the blows from Massielo and Benedic, the flat of the latter's blade bouncing off the knight's breastplate. Junior's follow up attack fails to penetrate the other knight's armor, though, and simply draws the man's attention.

Tristan gets a measure of vengeance on his attacker, finding a gap in their defense, his mace impacting with a tremendous clanging noise.

Greta finds herself pressed by enemies on all sides, with the wounded leader of the mad knights counterattacking with a slash across her arm while she is busy fending off another attacker. 6 damage Behind her, Junior's armor absorbs a blow meant to eviscerate him from the knight he'd just taken a swing at.

Orange longsword vs Massielo: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 - 1 = 5
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Iomedae's favor is made clear as Benedic, heedless of the danger, rushes forward to engage with the leader of the knights. Three times they try to cut him down with their longswords, and three times they find their weapons falling short. Benedic's own strike is barely parried, the force of the blow resonating through the woman's shield and into her arm. Nearby, the woman the knights had planned to sacrifice tries to crawl away unnoticed, seeking shelter from the melee.

Meanwhile, Tristan and Massielo continue to defend themselves from their own attackers. Quite admirably, as well, deftly dodging or blocking multiple swings from their frustrated opponents.

Selann, you're up! Massielo's channel hasn't gone off just yet, but I'll resolve that after Selann and the blue knight. Greta and Caliban may also post their turns.

So, I just read a bunch of posts (so I apologize if I screwed this up) but I think that after being healed by life link twice and channel once, I'm back to full health... is that right?

Greta scowls angrily that the fight hasn't ended yet. "What the f#ck is wrong with you morons?!? We spent most of the day killing demons while you worthless wannabees got ready to murder innocent townsfolk, and now we have to deal with this bullsh!t too... the only reason you sad sacks of sh!t are still breathing is because we don't want to kill people... now, will you please drop those swords before we run out of options?!?"

While she shouts at the morons, she ducks between the leader and the knight beside her in order to limit how many of them can attack her, and open a clear lane from Junior to the leader. From her new position she punches at the leader again.

Seeing the idiot that he had tried to save by entangling attacking him, Selann side-steps for better position and stabs at the fool. "Idiot! If you had just accepted that you were done fighting we would have let you live. Your leader is the villain here but obviously you are too misguided to continue!"

5' step to gain flanking position and attack.

GM Screen:

Blue longsword vs Tristan: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 4 - 1 = 17

Tristan easily blocks another sword swing that might have gutted someone else, just as Massielo's wave of healing energy washes over and restores the party.

"Spare us your blasphemies, demon worshiper!" the leader says, hatred in her eyes. She raises her blade high, preparing both to bring the heavy blade down on Greta's head and to pronounce more judgments against the party, when Greta's gauntleted fist snaps out and catches her in the throat. She drops her sword, clutching at the injury, before her eyes roll back and she falls to the ground, unconscious. An almost palpable wave of panic washes through the knights that remain standing.

Oops! Apologies!

May I just use my previous too early post?

Wrath of the Righteous | Iron Gods

You sure can!

Junior's warhammer strikes home, denting the knight's breastplate and breaking his resolve. Like the other, he turns to flee, leaving himself open to Benedic in the process. The knight hassling Greta breaks as well, nearly tripping over their leader's body in his haste.

Tristan swings his mace, but the blow bounces off of the knight's shield, leaving him unharmed, though still surrounded.

Pink provokes from Benedic, and Yellow provokes from both him and Greta. After that, Benedic's turn begins!

The first knight past Benedic evades the attack, but he still rings the bell of the second that attempts to run past him, sending the man staggering away. Another of the knights makes a break for it past Greta, hoping that she'll be too distracted to take a swing at him.

Benedic, you get another AoO vs Green as he runs past. Greta, you get one against Orange if you didn't already make one against Yellow earlier.

Wrath of the Righteous | Iron Gods

Selann's plea is heartfelt, but the knights, in fear for their lives, continue their flight. Benedic and Caliban's swings both miss, though they certainly spur their targets on. Another of them staggers off, trying to escape the party.
